Keep telling yourself that pal and simultaneously explain why many people won’t vote for him because of his economic policies, his record on antisemitism, his foreign policy position, his general leadership -you know everything that has been fought over in the election campaign and has nowt to do with Brexit. Never mind the vagaries of FPTP.

Very good appointment but it’s going to be a while before we see the payoffs, especially on the player and coach development side - time I fear we don’t have. -
A global brand As for saying we have limited funds because we want to keep our cards close to our chest, that might be the case but it doesn’t explain why, in the past, we’ve often trailed transfer targets all over the media (think Walcott).

Cue one of the sheep I was talking about. No pal they thought a wholly arbitrary timetable of three three days was too short to scrutinise one of the most important bills in peacetime history.

By your dim logic, Brexit is whatever can command a parliamentary majority. So if all the remainers in the Labour Party or Lib Dems had voted for May’s WA, then it would have suddenly qualified as Brexit? Hardly a principled, a priori definition, is it? And certainly not one our Les would sign up to. Perhaps you want to have another go pal.

A slogan doesn’t make it a statement of fact Les. The idea that Brexit will be done once Johnson’s oven-ready deal goes through Parliament is a fantasy. The hardest, most energy-sapping part of the negotiations is still to come, not least as Johnson kicked many issues into the long grass of the political declaration. On the bright side it does mean I can continue to school you on the subject for which you should be extremely grateful pal.

Leaving aside the exact figures, that’s the conceit of Corbyn’s Labour. Yes high earners should be taxed proportionately more -and can be taxed more than they currently are- but ultimately if you want high quality public services, everyone has to pay more. That’s how public services are funded in the Nordic countries. If Corbyn has the strength of his convictions, he should be honest with the electorate about the trade-offs involved rather than pretend it can get something for nothing as someone else is footing the bill. The alternative is neither economically nor politically sustainable.

Eh? Get Brexit done is among the most disingenuous and dishonest claims made by any party -and its front and centre of the conservatives campaign. But I guess if the sheep buy it, then it’s job done.

If I have time, I will. But apart from the QT special, I have avoided the debates, interviews and most election coverage like the plague. Frankly it’s flotsam and jetsam at this point, a depressing rehash of the unseriousness of the referendum campaign and I’ve got better things to do with my life (especially right now). Whichever party is in government next year will be faced by the same set of challenges and constraints -and true to form politicians of all stripes and the media prefer either not to discuss them or glibly underestimate them. Still I can understand why some might find an Andrew Neil interview titillating.

Haven’t had time to watch it - been busy. I have zero time for Corbyn and his agenda, so don’t know what you expect me to say pal?

But it’s not a question of whatabouttery, is it? The context in which Chief Rabbi intervened is critical. Intentionally or unintentionally, he made a political statement in an election where voters are required to compare alternatives: if not a vote for Corbyn, then who? Which makes it perfectly reasonable, if not essential, to assess the Conservatives record on issues of racism. I assume you understand how elections work. This is especially true as the Chief Rabbi is not only purporting to talk on behalf of the Jewish community and making a discrete point about its treatment but also how Corbyn poses a threat to the moral compass of the country as a whole. Again such a statement begs a broader assessment.
