Britain's Next Top Prime Minister - Labour Leadership Election 2020.
shurlock replied to CB Fry's topic in The Lounge
All political leaders are hounded by the press to some extent but there is absolutely no comparison in the vitriol and viciousness of the right-leaning press vs. the left-leaning press. None whatsoever. You must live under a rock and have been born yesterday if you think they’re equivalent. -

Tbf, he was only addressing the claim made elsewhere on this thread that Starmer was unrelatable to the working class. And the usual attack dogs in the media are certainly interested in his background. -

Thicker by the day. There are good reasons why grammar schools may have created a level playing field in Starmer’s day; but nowadays are more likely to work against equality of opportunity. David Willetts had the integrity and intelligence to follow the evidence, unlike many of the swivels in the Conservative Party. -

It’s odd - you have “Im alright, Jack” types like Les, GM and Lord Pony banging on about the importance of graft, aspiration and self-improvement and how Corbyn and his posho Marxist clique in Islington patronised the working classes by dismissing these values as rightwing brainwashing (because the working classes, so runs their little story, are too thick to know what’s best for them). Then you have Keir Starmer come along who on any measure is living breathing vindication of graft, aspiration and self-improvement and they all get their knickers in a twist. Is it envy (after all, Les and GM are privately educated mediocrities) or double standards and hypocrisy (because he’s not on their side politically)? -

Didn’t Kinnock say he wanted the next leader to be a woman? Isn’t that enough for all the Brendan O’Neill fanboys and mens rights activists to come out of the woodwork? -

So you withdraw the comment and admit you got it wrong. It was spectacularly idiotic. Fair enough, we move on. -

Surprised you stopped short of calling Keir Starmer, Keir Smarmy. Almost a full house there. You worked out how it’s mathematically impossible to eliminate poverty yet? Still waiting for an answer pal. -
Went there in 2009 for a fa cup game.

Surface Book 2, not Surface Pro 2. Very different machines (not least in price!).

Just arrived in the country and 60 odds mins into his debut?

He was close to losing his head in our game too.

It’s a lot of money but the microsoft surface book 2 (15 inches) is a thing of beauty (the surface book 3 should be out at some point this year). I rarely change my hardware (my last laptop lasted 8 years and my ipad air 2 is knocking on 6 years), so was happy to fork out for a premium product.

Saints 2 Huddersfield 0 - Match & Reactions Thread

Goa there? -
Not really. The main question was who -JWP or Redmond- was having a better season last season. And that was question was answered pretty emphatically given Redmond was voted player of the season by fellow players and fans alike.
-
Brilliant rebuttal pal.

MLG, Raging Bull and Turkish - take a bow gents. A late but strong bid for mboard thread of the decade.

How about a Ted Bates statue?

Just calling a spade a spade pal. Obviously responding in detail makes no difference as you’ll do your customary little trick and run off and carry on as if a conversation never took place and that you’re entitled to your own facts.
-
Even by your absurdly low standards, Les, this is pig-s**t ignorant.
-
So you’re comfortable with -or embarrassed by- Britain First supporters feeling at home in the current Conservative Party (which is an objective fact and the original point that your irrelevant little digression has been trying to distract from)? Let me know which in your own time pal.
-
You seem a tad touchy pal (your little nervous tic is a dead giveaway). Needless to say you’re missing the point. I also respectfully suggest that you’re not the best person to comment on peoples respective political centres of gravity given your antisemitic form on these threads and preference for sources like politicalite.
