To be fair that’s exactly what Clinton Morrison said on Sky so perhaps it’s you who is speaking tosh?
-
Of course you can. He picks the team and also this week said AM was good enough for the way we play when it’s obvious to everyone he’s not.
-
Martin has to take full responsibility for this. Every Saints fan and I mean ever predicted this.
-
Who was the last signing that genuinely got you excited?

Kevin Davies twice -
I think it was Clasie that ousted him which was a travesty
-
He went to Stoke a fortnight ago.

Turkish is A1?

I think you mean “vindicated”! Trouble is by the time these last minute signings (should they come) get up to speed we could well be adrift. But I accept the club are between a rock and a hard place in terms of spending and having to compete with the ultra wealthy is a tough almost impossible gig.

They are not kids. Both in their early 20s

Writing him off is a bit harsh but I agree it’s all a bit concerning. If he was fit enough to be on the bench at Wembley he should be able to manage 45 mins at Eastleigh.

Slightly different era old chap.

The trouble is in the PL you really do have to hit the ground running and bringing in loanees ater the season has started is asking for trouble. Not all of last season’s loan players were successful either. Holgate and Rothwell two examples. All promoted clubs have to “splash the cash” to some degree but it seems our hands are tied somewhat.
-
If Martin wanted Delap then not getting him is has got to be considered a blow. Ipswich seem determined to give themselves every chance of staying up.
-
No but you spelt Welington wrongly which undermined you impressive work.
-
Our priority should be oven-ready PL players ie guys who can hit the ground running - because from Day 1, this is going to be a tough season. Pretty sure Wood does not fit into this category.
-
I think talk of McCarthy signing a new contract to be wide of the mark. He’s had a lot of offers and is biding his time.
-
Do you know this for sure? Not seen it confirmed. The original question is a valid one. Who is currently fulfilling the role previously carried out by Wilcox?
-
It’s pretty certain that the team that won 1-0 at Wembley would struggle to stay up in the PL and that’s before the loanees and out of contract players walk out the door perhaps permanently. That means a massive rebuild and significant expenditure. Just hope whoever is in charge of recruitment and negotiations has had his/her summer break already.

An injury prone 36 year old prima Donna who hasn’t played a full 90 minutes for 3 years? No thanks. Hope this is not a sign of things to come.

I’ve been boring people to death with this point but have been told it does not matter we have no one in overall charge. In Sports Republic we trust I guess is the answer.

If AL came back here and was able to improve us enough to avoid relegation then I (fickle hands up) could be persuaded to turn a blind eye to his crassness at the time of his departure. But I am not sure he is going to improve us that much (a la Walcott) and therefore, on balance, the gamble is not worth the unrest and uncertainty (nor the wages).

So a position that was seen as vital 12 months ago is now not deemed important? I apologise for attaching importance to this but it does seem to be a flaw in what could be a complicated close season. I will now stop banging on about it but I am not yet convinced SR are completely on top of things despite the euphoria created last Sunday.

Parsons knows nothing about the football side of things.

This time last year a dedicated DoF was lauded as being a crucial appointment. Mowbray et al could do the recruitment etc but I’m talking about someone who has the clout to make big financial decisions and negotiate accordingly. If another club wants to make an offer for one of our players who would they go to?
