  1. Gates? now that would be quite funny, an open cheque book for Koeman
  2. If this board still has ambitions they will have to spend money and with all that is going on i think they need to cough up that type of money...he's a bloody good player so its worth it
  3. hmm i thought he was crap and why are we doing loans? going backwards
  4. NC wanted us to be part of the big club list in the premiership, to be that you need to spend money to get near the top then you can keep your players happy, KL just wants money but i wonder has anyone told her that having all the money in the world won't make her any prettier. I still think if NC was here today we would of only lost 1 player..Lambert and that would of made way for a younger striker to keep the squad together for longer, thats why he only bought young players. And everyone wanted him gone cause he got rid of the stripes....now i wonder if ppl would choose the stripes over all the players we have lost? F**K the stripes i say!!
  5. Owners are allowed to spend there own money in football and since she is worth a few billion there is no excuse why we are selling players. Building up the stadium or improving the academy/ training facilities does not come out of the fair play money, so if the training centre cost more money than it was first thought, she could of paid it off with her own money instead of selling players to cover the costs. Do you see Man city's chairman selling players to improve stuff...no he just dishes out the money knowing it will help the club to become successful. Does KL want this club to become successful, apparently she does, so why is she or we doing things a different way? To become successful nowadays in football you need to spend money to get to the top first then you can work on long term projects, if we keep selling players we will never get to that stage.
  6. need a decent CB and maybe a DM, we're a bit iffy at the back, going fwd we look good, i like this 433 formation and using wingers, we missed width last season.
  7. Feyenoord have told RK that they are not selling anymore players... I want us to sign 2 new CB's if Lovern goes, at the end of last season before all our players wanted out, most agreed that Fonte needs replacing, nothing has changed he's still our weakest link in defence (if we get Rojo for LB). If we play 3 at the back he would be ok but i think we're going to be playing 433 mainly since we're making good use of our young wingers this pre season.
  8. Nope he supports Saints, i work with a very good friend of his.
  9. i think it will be more of a 21421 playing 3 box-box midfielders and 2 attacking midfielder/wingers behind the striker. So when defending we defend with 7 when attacking we attack with 7. -------gk---- ----cb----cb-- -------dm----- wb-------------wb ----cm----cm-- ----am-------am-- --------st------
  10. i think it will be more of a 21521 playing 3 box-box midfielders and 2 attacking midfielder/wingers behind the striker. So when defending we defend with 8 when attacking we attack with 8. -------gk---- ----cb----cb-- -------dm----- wb-------------wb ----cm--cm--cm-- ----am-------am-- --------st------
  11. ----------------Boruc -----Chambers--Fonte---Lovren----- Clyne----------Cork------------Targett ----------Morgan---JWP--------- ---------------Tadic-------------- ---------------Pelle------------- I think Lovern will be gone though unless we get some BIG signings and he realises that we do mean business still. He will play 2 box-box midfielders so i can't see Big vic and Cork playing together and Morgan will fit in better. Jwp for his set pieces and his high energy levels i think will get the nod over Davis. I'm not sure how fast Tadic is but i wouldn't be surprised if we replace Jwp with Tadic and get someone with raw pace to play behind the striker for a good counter attack football. Morgan as captain!
  12. Since he likes the 3-5-2 formation: Boruc Yoshida Lovren Fonte Clyne Targett Cork Morgan JWP Gaston Gallagher
  13. Ok i know someone at work who is really good friends with Matt Targett and has grown up playing football with him and even he says that Matt isnt ready for the step up. The only good news that Matt is a saints fans through and through so if he does become good he'll probably be more loyal.
  14. He also likes to play the old Brazil type formation: ------------GK------- -------CB--SW---CB--- WB-----------------WB ---------CM--CM------- -------AM-------AM----- ------------ST---------- Got a friend in Holland and asked him how he thought he would do, he said great! Asked if Pelle is any good ( rumour he wants to come ) he said: A bit nuts but a damn good player, likes to kick sponsor boards and dressing room doors!
  15. Probably old news but... http://metro.co.uk/2014/05/23/mauricio-pochettino-to-remain-at-southampton-and-snub-tottenhams-advances-4737950/
  16. He see's a gap in the market for more commercial revenues, so i'm guessing lets try and crack America, a tour to America each year will probably gain a good income but without "top players" ppl wont take notice, so keeping hold of our players and getting top players in ( who fit into the team mould ) is a must for that to happen. Getting a good sponsor for next season will also be high up on the agenda, our one atm is one of the lowest in the league and no-way good enough for a top 10 team and to get a top sponsor you need good players. So it all adds up in my eyes that keeping and getting better players will help us long term.
  17. Why do we seem to be linking with players from Italy, our style suits the Spanish/South American leagues that's where we should be looking even if it's just paper talk.
  18. i voted for clyne just cause i think his crossing is better, also his pace can cause problems when he runs at the full backs. Chambers is very good though and a very good backup but maybe one day we might try and push one of them up on the right wing? could be worth a try in the pre season friendlies to see how it goes.
  19. yes he will leave and so will many of our players.
  20. We are screwed! It was his "vision" who kept players here, im just hoping that Cortese is now talking to his mega rich friends ready to take over the club. Cortese wants success, most owners want money and Liebherr wants money!
  21. £8m? yes please, he's done a great job here but it shows just from this year he does not suit this type of system. He's slows down our counter attacks allowing them to get more defenders back and if we are serious in breaking in the top 6 we need someone who can do a better job. At that price i would try and find a real winger to replace JRod and move him upfront to see how he gets on. Using Osvaldo now and again to break him in to the premier league for next season. We need to look to the future, Ricky isn't our future.
  22. This team please, need to look to the future and this would be a good test for jrod and Ramirez.
  23. I'd be tempted to play jrod upfront on his own and try to use his pace more. Gazza, Chambers, Fonte, Lovren, Shaw, Morgan, Cork, Davis, Lallana, JWP JRod
  24. 5 after the man city game
