I hope for the next game he chooses more than 2 fwd thinking players. If he's going to play with 3 CB's drop Romeu and Jwp, place Hoj as the anchor midfield man and play 4 fwd thinking players, Boufal, Adams/Armstrong, Redmond and Ings, just try something new instead of this ultra defensive formation which invites teams to attack us. I'd hope Cedric will be RB and Vokins for LB.
-
Again the same 3 poor midfielders that havent done anything all season, 2 or 3 of them need replacing, Jwp defiantly shouldn't be starting. I do agree that we should go back to that formation though.
-
Thats all he's done in his whole career, only looked good in the early days as he had better players around him. I'm afraid that if Ralph keeps picking him and Romeu we are doomed, both are to slow, lack any creativity and cant bond any type of partnership in the midfield. Ralph also needs to stop playing so negative, we only have 2 fwd thinking guys on the pitch.
-
That midfield is probably the main reason why we are struggling, jwp is utter gash and offers nothing but a good free kick now and again, Romeu cant pass for toffee and hojbjerg cant seem to play with any of the other 2. Since we cant really do anything about our shocking defence, why don't we drop all 3 of them ( or at least 2 of them ) and find something that works? Smallbone, Slattery Danso? Playing 3 CB's we don't need to play 2 Dcm's, we could try Danso at DCM and try playing Boufal instead of Jwp to inject a bit of pace into the midfield, the 3rd could be Hoj/smallbone or someone else. I was always told when i was young that the midfield is the engine of the team, they need to do all the running and inject the energy to get the rest of the team working, all 3 of them are slow and sluggish, time for a change! Vokins did ok in preseason why not give him a run out, its not like we have any other LB.
-
tempting to try this: --------Gunn----------- ---Yoshi--Vest----bednarek-- Valery-----hoj------Berty ---Sims---Jwp---Redmond ---------Ings-------- Need to go full attack like we did in the 2nd half yesterday. Win it and get a draw against Liverpool I think we will be safe, Cardiff have a hell of a run now and that would put d daylight between us
-
Well it's now a must win game, I feel not strengthing in the window might backfire on us.

Reed- Very good player, a much better all-round player than Jwp (yes I will probably get flamed for saying that), would fit in the pressing system as he does that for Blackburn and he has some engine in him, the lad just keep going. Would play just behind the 2 strikers in RH preferred formation. Possibly not an every match starter but hes good enough to stand in or to come on to close out the game (pack the midfield) He's certainly better than Elyounoussi. Sims- Again very good just needs a run of games, a good preseason under RH would do him good, probably not a starter but would bring something from the bench or a good option to bring in for injured/tired players. Jones - A very good promising player, I would like to see him play cups games next year to see how he gets on and which would allow a defender valuable rest time. Mcqueen - Better than Targett as a wingback but need to see what he is like after he returns from that bad injury. Smallbone - Not on that list but a player that has very good quality and I think he could break through next season, one to watch! Others either need more time being young or just not up for it, Gallagher seems ok not quite sure if he's premiership though, defo needs a run of games, Heskith, not sure if he's premiership either im afraid.
-
Pains me to say this but he's Improved under Ralph been playing well and derserves his spot in the team, still needs to improve a few things though to really win me over.
-
We need space to get better players in and/or promote some of our 22 year olds so if he don't fit into the new system so be it. I personally never liked him as he really is just a deadball speciallist and in modern day football you just cant carry someone like that now. His style would of suited the 1990's-early 2000's punting early balls in the box from the wing, but nowadays you need to do alot more work and hes just not fast enough or strong enough for what midfielders need to do. He probably needs to drop down a division and get regular play time but he's certinally not premier standard.
-
I hope not, really hoped he would come back here.
-
Get in!! I had a good feeling this week that we could get something from today, great result play like that all season and we will be fine.
-
Keeping him fresh for Huddersfield, isn't he one of many one yellow from a ban? If he is thsysvprobably why he's been rested. Try and get something from today and win against Hudders that would be bad at all.
-
Well at least Hasenhuttl gets to see how poor we really are and drops them for the youngsters.
-
The fwd 4 need to be the fastest in the team as they are the counter attackers, 2x CM and the wing backs also need a bit of pace about them, it's all about closing the opposition down quickly when the trap is set when off the ball but yes the fwd 4 are the ones who need to be the super quickies. If he wants silky skills then you can probably count out our entire team. It's pace and high energy levels esspecially the front 4 which we lack apart from maybe 3 players which might make his standards. The 3 I mentioned have pace and the energy levels and id imagine 2 of the front 4 would be subbed each match, so we need players on the sub bench of equal pace. Silky skills is just a big bonus.
-
Only a few first teamers will fit into his ultra fit pacey system but he could look into recalling Reed, Hesketh and Sims who all have a bit of pace about them, Reed has done well at Blackburn and constantly presses the opposition so will fit right in but someone needs to point this out to him I hope someone at the club has been monitoring him. One things for sure I think we will see a completely different team in a few months time but a mini clear out in January is a must, Austin,Gabbi,Jwp and Davis, i reckon won't suit the system, if we can off load those and get 1 in and use the youth we could look alot better in terms of pace and energy.
-
Far to slow for his system, same goes for Austin and Gabbi, the real winners will be our wingers who he likes to play behind two pacey strikers. I'd probably say that he would want to get rid of Austin, Gabbi, Davis and Jwp to make way for Sims, Hesketh, Harry Reed and Gallagher. A friend of mine who is a big Blackburn fan told me that Reed has been excellent this season and doesn't let the opposition on the ball for to long, perfect for Hassenhuttl system.
-
Excellent if true, wanted him or Smichit. He would need a bit of time to teach our players the pressing style and to get the players fitness levels up, Austin won't know what's hit him lol
-
Problem is his tactics is possession based, I can't see our current players play it, they are not that good. He used the youth alot at Ajax which i like but it all went wrong at Dortmund. He kept the pressing that Klopp and Tuchel introduced but maybe he doesn't know how to fully prepare his players for that style. I personally would rather have a manager who knows the pressing style and can teach the players it rather than being forced to play it without any idea how it works. I have mixed feelings with Bosz but is probably a better option than Hughes or Big Sam who alot of fans strangely want.
-
Big Sam will have the same effect as Hughes, old style football old style training nothing will change, Everton fans wanted him out within a month. We need someone who can change our style, bring back the high fitness levels which Poch brought in ( which now seems to be the norm in every other premier league club apart from us), bring back attacking pressing football which in turn brings in good results. Rodger Smichit would be my choice as he plays similar type to Poch.

3412, 3421 or 4231 formations are the best, it allows more midfielders to try and win the midfield battle. The 4231 formation was made to counter the 442 formation so that's why you will normally see teams use that formation now. Problem is our attacking players behind the lone striker are not good enough to cause any real threat unlike when we had Lambert, Lallana, Jrod etc. Drop Tadic and Carillo add Sims down the right and maybe Mcqueen down the left and we'll probably see a big difference as those 2 can beat players with pace, put good balls into the box and are more direct. Helps both also tracks back and both have something to prove, Tadic played **** for 2 seasons and still gets into the first 11.
-
Problem when u play a 442 is that the midfield gets over run, that's why the 4231 formation was formed, to win the midfield battle. If you want to play with 2 strikers go with a 352 type of formation. Tadic and Boufal are useless, Gabbi and Carillo are no better its been the main reason why we have struggled for way over a year now, our attacking players are just not very good. I would of loved to see Sims and Mcqueen down the wings, least they have something to prove and would be more direct.
-
I would like to see Graham Potter given a chance. Done well in Sweden, plays a similar style to Klopp in counter attacking and pressing football, he's young and English and played at saints for a bit. Problem is that we would have to pay compensation which we never seem to do so it will probably be Hughes who I cant stand.

hes poor, panic buy and we paid way to much for him, about 19m to much. One of our youngsters would provably so what he does and some of that money could of been used to get that Promes deal over the line. -
Agree.
-
Yep i think so and since MP plays 3 defensive midfielders at home suggests he has no idea our best team or formation.
