Good player good replacement for Lallana while injured but when both Punch and Lallana are both fit, you wouldn't be able to place this guy on the bench, Punch is the more consistent, lallana is everyone's favourite player so dropping him would cause a fans backlash (yes Saints fans are way to fickle). Would link well with Ramirez but if this does come true the other question is...would too many new faces spoil the team spirit? We need a new defender so that would be either Fonte or Yoshida out (yoshida has impressed me alot) and if we get this guy that would mean Punch or Lallana moving to the bench.

we're going to struggle without Fonte need to get someone good very quickly, time to slash the cash, remember stay up this year, a lot more money for the premier league clubs next year, it's worth the gamble.

Lee will give us more than what Rod gives us atm. J.Rod will become good but i just don't think he's good enough quite yet. Lee's movement off the ball and that turn of pace will give us more options in build ups, he is also untried and we need to see if he can bring something to the team, everyone said last season how good he was but everyone has just seemed to forget him probably cause of a 7m price tag on JRod (very overpriced). I said in another thread a while back, if Lee's transfer was 7m and JRod was a free, we would be placing him in the team every week. If we can get Lee and Gaston on the same wave length it would be a great combination, Lee is a very good and intelligent player.

Lallana isn't a winger really, he is much better in that position behind the strikers playing as a attacking midfielder but since he was playing on the left in the lower leagues we sort of think he is a left winger/midfielder. I really think we should only play him on the left if and only if we play a more 433 with 3 central midfielder's so he does not need to track back as much as one of the central midfielder's would cover (when i say 3 midfielder's 3 non attacking ones, like Morgan, Cork, Jwp).

What ever team we put out today i reckon we will lose but i just hope that both Walcott and Oxo get very good receptions. I'm fair to say if they score they wont celebrate.

Valuable points lost, need to spend a lot of money in jan, we need depth in our squad.

If we continue to play like we're doing atm we will go down, we don't have depth in our squad. QPR will buy their way out of it, Reading + Saints then Wigan or Newcastle for me. We need a reshuffle in our striking options, lambo isn't doing it, JRod is not worth his transfer value and leaves the untried Lee, i'm not even going to say that so called Brazilian's name. Ramirez needs to go back to the position he does well in (playmaker midfielder) and we need someone like Matty Phillips who can play either side of midfield so we have cover when Lallana or Punch is injured.

if we play 442 or 4411 we'll lose, we need to counter their formation and play the ball around on the deck and close them down fast, if they are allowed to play their crap style we'll get battered. Hard to fix our left side problem maybe risk fox and play shaw in the more forward position, he played there in pre season for a game and done very well. Ramirez needs to play in the centre as a playmaker midfielder not as a striker or off the striker, he makes things happen.

In the end goals are goals and we need them, Michu is better than Lambert, this is the biggest miss of them all i reckon.

Tbh i agree, i really like lambo but we do not want to be relegated and having someone up front who is ineffective just does not work doesn't matter who he is. Rooney now plays more of a midfielder now for utd (in certain formations) and it works well for him but lambo isn't that type of player so we do need someone fresh upfront who works his socks off pulling wide, has a bit of pace and strength to him. Lambo lacks pace and movement which effects his game, he has the strength and does pull left at times but he isnt the complete striker we need to become successful in this league. The thing is 90% of our fans are very fickle and they want their favourite players playing all the time even if they are not effective enough.

It don't work well for anyone now really in the premier league, it's 433/451 or 4231 they all counter the 442 formation we should always stick what we're good at and thats the 4231 formation we were using when we were getting points and playing well. Sod jrod + lambo upfront one of them or nothing in fact even lambo has being found out so we probably need a change upfront now.

i don't think the 14m on Gaston has been wasted or payed over the odds but the 7m on jrod probably should of been spent somewhere else. Mayuka im sure will become good over time but he was a lot cheaper. Like almost all South Americans they need at least a season over to get used to the winter conditions etc so i'm sure Gaston will be a good buy but i think the amount we have spent and the position we're in we're all wondering about the 14m but if you take away the 7m from jrod it wont seem too bad. It's that 7m that has been wasted not the 14m on Gaston.

strange he's off to liverpool when he was there a few years ago and from what i read that his dad has been talking to Sir Alex about a move to Man Utd. Matty Phillips would be a good boost for us but more clubs are now looking at him now just hope he chooses us.

I'd get Lee in there somewhere tbh, gives us more than Rod and we're only playing Rod cause of his ridiculous transfer fee. If it was the other way around Lee would be playing week in week out with Rod playing for the under 21's. 442 also does not work and we play a lot better when we play that 4231 formation so having a left back in the left mid position wont happen, we have players who can play there, it's a whole squad league we need to start using other players other than the 14 we use week in week out. mayuka would also fit in but punch and clyne has a good understanding going on would be a pity to change it if punch was to switch to the left to fit in mayuka on the right. I thought Arsenal buy all their youngsters from other clubs, really cant see them being that high. I think they have got all the facts wrong, don't think they have looked if they have produced them or bought them, we would be alot higher up in the euro league than most of the uk teams infact you'll probably see a lot of lower league teams on that list if it was players produced but Barca would still be top i reckon.

JRod and Guly no thanks ( it will be Guly though ), id prefer Reeves or Lee any day, both are left footed, Reeves will be better defensively but Lee's movement and pace with Ramirez passing, a very good combo in the making. Mayuka yes i like him yes he should be given a chance but he's a right sided player and Punch is playing very well on the right and has a good understanding with Clyne.

Must win, we can't be dropping points against teams in the bottom half of the table and expecting to stay up, Norwich and Liverpool were disappointing, Liverpool are a shadow of what they used to be and should of had something out of that and we must be beating teams like Norwich at home.

Would of liked a change, take of punch for a Jwp, need someone with a bit of fight in the centre closing them down quickly.
