  1. It's a sentiment thing. It might be interesting to see the relationship between posting levels and match attendances.
  2. It's still a results driven business. Stay out of the bottom 3 and the project is safe. If not, and if attendances dwindle and the SP plummets, market forces will determine the outcome.
  3. Depends on results. If JP keeps the team out of the bottom 3, he'll be OK this season but a poor run of results especially if linked to falling attendances could mean it's all change by Christmas when Dennis Wise will be available again.
  4. Stuart Ripley wihout a doubt.
  5. All any one can do at the moment is take each game as it comes and modify one's assessment accordlingly. Saturday's match rather devalues last weeks's results against Derby and Birmingham and leaves me at any rate with the impression of a rather brittle team. A previous comment about "all flash and no substance" is a little harsh but it nonetheless does carry a grain of truth. All teams end up playing to the personality of their manager so we should have a better idea by the end of the month if JP has the necessary mental strength and staying power for this division.
  6. I remember the Saint's end at WBA chanting Harry & Jim the whole time at one of the last matches of the relegation season and if Prutton hadn't missed that sitter with 5 minutes to go events might have turned out quite differently. Logic might therefore suggest it makes more sense to dislike Prutton but that's not the way it works is it?
  7. Yup. Same formula, same end product.
  8. Did anyone else spot LM and LC at the match today? Broad grins all round from what I could see! It was a good performance by the youngsters but against a poor Derby team. Last week Birmingham spolit our game by compressing the play in the 2nd half but Derby became more clueless and despondent as the game went on which doesn't bode well for Paul Jewell. As others have said, the play down the right was superb and it's a long time since I last saw a Saint's team so comfortable with the ball on the ground. I hope Jack Cork starts on Tuesday. He only had 15 minutes today but impressed for the time he was on.
