He's started for Mali v Ivory Coast. Currently live on eurosport. Only 15 mins gone so can't comment much except that the tators have said that he's one of Africa's best prospects and that saints have made a great signing. Zaha started for IC apparently but hasn't done much yet

Half decent article in the guardian today about Bale - https://www.theguardian.com/football/2019/may/20/gareth-bale-zinedine-zidane-real-madrid-face-off-future

That's a fair point, but at least once in the prem they didn't buy it.
-
Bournemouth must be favourites surely

Totally agree with this - we were discussing this issue at half time yesterday and the 100% consensus was that he actually performed miracles keeping us up with what was a really poor squad when he took over - also very brave of him not to bring anyone in in the transfer window. And he has said that there needs to be change and investment over the summer. It's always difficult for a new manager to come in during the season, especially to a club that almost looked doomed. So the full summer and a new start to the season should hopefully get us all excited

Fully agree with this - it's a real problem for society. I'm not anti-betting by the way - but TV and radio are saturated with betting ads - even at 7 in the morning.. it's just that I interpreted Saints statement that they are not keen to bring in a betting sponsor except as a last resort. Agree with this too - I'd happily have them again

Saints 1 Cardiff City 2 post match dissection
dellboypete replied to Crab Lungs's topic in The Saints
Anybody mentioned Bertrand on here yet? I'm usually a great fan of his, but he didn't look match fit today - I think Targett would have offered quite a lot more today, especially as he has been played in most of the games since Bertrand has been out. -

Tell you what - These two couldv'e done a lot better than most our players today. -
Have we got a replay date yet?

I don't, so has he or has he not impressed?

Loved Toomers! What a shop - and they had their huge(ish) advert at The Dell on the Chocolate boxes at the Milton Rd. If you are lucky I've attached a foto of the side of my old Toomers Holdall - I got this in 1969/70 - I was lucky enough to play for Hampshire Boys and we got a huge discount on stuff in the shop. I used this bag through school, university and it lasted until the mid/late 70's. When it finally gave up the ghost I had to keep the side for old times sake (it was only printed on one side if I remember correctly)

Should the thread title be "Bottom Three worst....) There are some shockers already mentioned on here. When I first saw Vestergaard play when he joined, I thought, yeah a class CB here - but five minutes later I was very doubtful Anyway - makes you appreciate Jose Fonte - had he not thrown his toys out of the pram he probably still be playing today

Ha ha!! almost choked on my 3rd mince pie of the day (talking of hunger!).

What you should have said.......

Got my ticket (upload) yesterday and was really surprised that there were hardly any blue dots left anywhere - mostly singles, so should be nearly full - just like at Chelsea!

The BT taters just pointed out that Chelsea haven't won away from home in 9 games following a midweek Champions league game - oh dear!

The so called experts premiership predictions for 2018/2019
dellboypete replied to Pilchards's topic in The Saints
The Times this morning has their writers predictions ( (all 10 of them - writers that is). Only one predicts us to go down (George Caulkin), and the only other mensh was by James Gheerbrandt in the "This season's surprise package" category, and I quote - "Southampton's underlying performance was far better than their league position last season". He clearly didn't see us play after Christmas last season (imo). Everyone has the usual hots for Citeh and Lpool, and Hfield, Cardiff and Watford are the clear favourites to go down. -
An interesting article on Chinese football investment

I'm even more impressed if 10% of people on this forum do subscribe! -
any one else thinking that if England had got to the final that we could have won that? France had a short good spell in the 2nd half (imo) but looked pretty desperate at other times
-
Funny you were talking about CB - Yosh is in the said Guardian team https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/jun/24/world-cup-team-so-far-cristiano-ronaldo (note the last bit - Lovren gets a mention too - don't believe it myself)
-
Makes you really appreciate Ryan Bertrand
-
Can't believe it took 7 minutes for someone to start this thread!! Usually starts within a couple of seconds. However, looks a fairly well balanced list (apart from the usual)- like last season - so should struggle then!!
-
I've been watching the Paris open tennis in 4k on eurosport and its been quite impressive. As was the champions league final. Really looking forward to the WC but the BBC article says there will still limited access on a first come first served basis.

Glad to see Mr Lovren hasn't lost his touch at unsettling his team! https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/jun/07/how-luka-modric-and-dejan-lovren-got-caught-up-in-croatian-corruption-world-cup-football

How did he get on with MH? That could be the deal clincher.
