Guys, it was obvious that AOC was off when Adkins missed the chance to deny it in that interview a couple of days ago.. then mentioned that the team was bigger than any one individual. We never had any chance of keeping him if he wanted to move, and to be honest he would be absolutely mad to turn down a megabucks move to Arsenal. I hate it too, but rationally I would do exactly the same thing if I were AOC.

After reading that it is obvious that AOC is off. Not even an attempt to deny it by Adkins, and finishes up by stressing the team is more than one player. Byebye AOC.
-
He doesn't watch the games any more, he has no idea about the team.
-
The fact of the matter is that if Alex wants to go, then he will. Nothing sensible that anyone here at Saints can do. I think AOC would be mad to turn down a big money move to Arsenal personally. He could break his leg and end his career next week. For the increase in money and opportunity he will get at Arsenal it makes a lot of sense to move on. Bale & Walcott are now international stars earning megabucks, despite leaving Saints at "too young an age". We as fans might like him to say, but the reality is that he would be mad to stay.

Oldham V Saints - Post Match Celebration Thread
Red and White Army replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
Awesome result, love it. No surprise to see even Alwhine couldn't manage a post without a negative comment though! Vindication for those of us who think we should take the FA Cup seriously too -
Read the thread, plenty of mongs are.

Saints 2 - 0 Blackpool - Post match reaction

Alpine, Dulldays and the rest of the idiots would have preferred us to lose... -
Only a bunch of ****s would slag Bridgey off for taking a shedload of money and not playing. How many of us would do the same? I would in a shot.

We should play our strongest team.

We beat a team 4-0 away and our manager was still sacked. Odd club?

Adkins - Now looking to win the league

Unless it was for gross misconduct (if so, why is there a need to keep it secret?) then I don't see any other valid reasons for dismissing him at that time. Can you? -
Adkins - Now looking to win the league

If we had not have sacked Pardew, we might have not have had the post-Pardew malaise and we might be higher in the League right now. Sacking Pardew was still a stupid idea. -
Love some of the retards on the match thread.
-
Let's hope none of their win bonuses get triggered eh?

Hahahahahahahahahahaha!!!

Dune you are a moron. Tim is right, and moreover anyone can make money investing in a market going up.
-
Well we're not in the Premier League, and show no signs of getting there either. We're mid-table in League 1 and struggling.

Saints 0 Brentford 2 - Post Match Depression
Red and White Army replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
No surprise to see you not assign any criticism to Adkins derry. You were a vocal critic of Pardew who has gone and beaten Liverpool in his first game in charge of a Premiership club. You lauded Adkins, but he has not shown why he deserves your praise yet. If the players are not motivated in the first half (why should that even be so) I expect him to fix it at half time in the dressing room. I can accept losing matches, but I hate seeing us lose matches without even bothering to turn up. The manager can't change the players at will but he should be able to change their attitudes. Very worrying. I really miss Pardew, I think we would be doing better with him at the helm, before he was sacked I expected us to be promoted. Now, I just hope we can be, the expectation has gone. -
Is Adkins living up to your expectations?

Amazing to see the manager we unfairly sacked starting off with a win against Liverpool while his replacement is getting beaten at home by Brentford. I questioned the decision to sack Pardew at the time, let's hope Adkins does come good. He should be doing better with this squad for sure. -
I think we should have a separate forum!

From dune's viewpoint, Nick Griffin is left wing. No wonder he thinks the BBC are a bunch of Marxists.
-
This is all in the pipeline. Doing things right can mean it takes time to develop scalable solutions and negotiate the myriad of vested interests in other countries & broadcasters. I suspect we'll be seeing paid-for high quality content delivered over the internet within 18 months.
-
As another overseas resident who has lived in many countries I concur with the poster above. The BBC is streets ahead of any other broadcaster I have seen anywhere. It is the envy of the world, and makes a huge amount of money selling shows like Top Gear to dozens of countries. The license fee is an absolute bargain, and I would happily pay three times the current amount to get BBC programming here. As for left-leaning, it only seems that way if you compare it with Fox News or the Murdoch rags!

You simply can not use this as an excuse. If Adkins is not capable of getting the best out of THIS team then he should not have been brought in AFTER the transfer window closed. It really is as simple as that. Sacking Pardew at the end of August was terrible timing at best, and will cost us our chance at promotion this season at worst.

We should be walking this league. We're only eight points away from the relegation zone too. The fact is neither results nor performances are reflecting the fact we have outspent every team in this league and have a much better team & squad than the teams we are failing to beat.
