Also rather odd a Saints sign with "Saints Fan Live Here" In black with gold writing no crest the words Fan and Saints was the only link -

LOL me too and i am turning 30 soon -
No its obviously going to be a free transfer. Loans also stopped at 5pm, but unlike perminent signings the loan window re-opens a week from now. The only deals that can be done between those times is the signing of an out of contract player i.e. Jaidhi
-
I can assure you 1000% he is not
-
Well can't see that working at all, and also talk of Fahim joining that group why would they want him involved?
-
Where did you get that from? It would certainly be good for you lot IF its true, am very suprised nothing has snuck out in any media though if this was true. Li is certainly very wealthy and Heims has been linked with Chelsea takeovers in the past.
-
Also fairly certain you need to actually get on in order to be cup tied.
-
i don't know you will have to ask him I am not his personal secretary!
-
Just checked Tac-Tics activity and he was last on at 6ish this morning, but did not post. I am sure he will be on later with some news.
-
Tac-Tics stated yesterday on the Lambert thread that Jaidi was again with Saints yesterday, so they are clearly still hopeful of doing a deal. He also mentioned we have had a bid accepted for a Midfielder which is rumoured to be Craig Bryson of Kilmarnock. Look out for Tic-Tacs updates today he seems to be very ITK when it comes to player dealings down a staplewood.

I think he has alot of talent, but just can't see where he will fit into the side. He is not a winger and i would rather play two out and out strikers this year than have one with him in the whole.
-
True he deffo needs a Jimmy Case/Chris Marsden ball winner along side him who can get stuck in and give him simple passes to his feet.
-
Spot on! He showed he can be great for us on sat and in my opinion Wotten proved the exact opposite.
-
Agree with most of that, but would not play Rasiak! Instead leave Pato in with either Rasiak or Saga coming on for him midway through the second half. Also if Mills is not fit then preferably Holmes if fit if not Gobern. I do agree with the exclusions of both Wotton and Lallana, as i feel that neither brought much to the shape or quality of the side on Saturday.

Has the spirit of Southampton returned once more?
Alright Dave replied to Mr X's topic in The Saints
I have to say that my interest had seriously wained by the end of last season, since the takeover and subsequent first 3 signings i am back to peak interest/excitement. Am also going tomorrow night and am really looking forward to it. COYR's -
or just a midfielder as i have said all along
-
As mentioned by two people we had two Scots playing this saturday in Murty and Paterson, one is proven decent and the other is a decent prospect.
-
Ok fair enough, but he was a Manure defender in many a title winning season. Pardew played for lower half teams in Palace and Charlton.
-
Never said he was a striker another thing the old man got wrong. I said he was a midfielder, in fairness he could have been a defensive midfielder, but a midfielder non the less.
-
I think my post that he was charltons top scorer in the 92/93 season proves he was not a defender. I can't recall any top flight defender ever scoring 10 goals in season!
-
Thanks everyone for proving me right on this one
-
Oh and to add to that on Wiki it states the following: Pardew moved to Charlton Athletic in November 1991, and was Charlton's top scorer in the 1992–93 season with ten goals.[3] Not sure a defender of Charlton's would ever have managed to be top scorer with 10 goals in one season.

ok so found the lineups for the Palace v liverpool semi final in 1990. It is fairly clear to me from this he was not a defender, but a midfielder. I seem to recall Palace only playing one up front which would have been Bright and the defence was deffo Pemberton, Shaw, O'Reilly and Thorn. Martyn, J.Pemberton, R.Shaw, A.Gray, G.O'Reilly, A.Thorn, P.Barber, G.Thomas, M.Bright, J.Salako, A.Pardew. Liverpool: B.Grobbelaar, G.Hysen, D.Burrows, G.Gillespie (B.Venison), R.Whelan, A.Hansen, P.Beardsley, R.Houghton, I.Rush (S.Staunton), J.Barnes, S.McMahon. So as usual old man you think your right, but as always in reality i am

ok so just to clarify, i am Eurosaints son and i was around 10 at the time Pardew was playing and just to correct him, i was claiming he was a midfielder not an attacker!
