Not saying your wrong just saying i expected these mistakes from the likes of Thomas towards the end of the game. Hence why Pardew has signed Murty, Fonte, Otsemobor etc.. Thomas is not the best it showed at times, but he gave his all so i won't slate him.

For me a late goal is in the last 5-10 mins even.

Ok he's not a right back and certainly not our first choice RB. But lLets bare in mind we have a few injuries and a large number of players cup tied, he nearly put us one up but James made a great save, so i am not going to slate him or any other player. You could equally blame Lallana for missing so many guilt edge chances, but again i won't i thought he had a great game and was just missing the final finish. We are after all a league 1 team and not a premiership one!!!!

This is a good point and goes onto confirm that Pardew has improved the side with signings. Its unfortunate that at least Fonte, Connelly and Puncheon were not available for todays game, i believe they could have made a huge difference with there added pace and quality. I just hope the performance and endeavour the team showed today shines through into our league form as the playoffs are still a slim possibility.

I think Lambert explained the tactics behind it in mid week already. Pardew felt with the cup team including Perry/Fonte, Jaidi, Thomas, Hammond etc... .they had enough good people in the air to allow Lambert to take the kicks whilst James was not in the team. Personally i don't agree with it, your top scorer should not be taking all set pieces around the box, but hey that didn't lose us today's game. I think the lads did well, in the main the tactics worked we just ran out of steam and their pace on the counter got the better of our old legs at the back. I only saw positives out of todays performance, Pompey may take the **** out of the scoreline, but they didn't deserve that and we will have the last laugh here i am sure....

TIm we were chasing the game end of!! They got ahead based on a jammy deflection off schneiderlin in our box followed by a good finish. We then equalised and got carried away chasing the game. Our defence is old and was always going to struggle late in the game against their pace! But to say thats Pardew was at fault is just plain wrong, why? because he has addressed that with new signings but they were cup tied today. If you want to talk about Saints losing to late goals this is hardly a new thing is it? And certainly not something that has just appeared under Pardew! I think this is a case of a very passionate Saints fan over reacting to a Pompey defeat (comment based on the fact they are two divisions above us). I for one will back this team and manager as they showed to me today they mean business! Did they come short in the end today? yes a little! But we all should have expected Pompey to end stronger and even win given the position of the two football teams (not the running of each club). I do feel the league form should be better and i think you will see an upturn in form in the league in the coming weeks, i still expect us to run the playoff's close and win the JPT, keep the faith this is not the end of the world!!!

I think the boys did us proud, i refuse to be that gutted after that. They are a prem team and that scoreline totally flattered them. Now lets forget about them they should be dead and buried by prem teams for the rest of the season based on that showing, we can now concentrate on the league and winning the JPT.

to be honest i don't even blame the ref for the red, its the ****ing pathetic rules they are asked to follow thats the problem, especially with todays premadonnas who are all desperate to get an opponent sent off. Arrghh frustrating rules of football, i guess thats all part of the excitement in the end ?

Agreed signing perminent or loan only option now!!! Straight red for morgan so thats 3 games out plus hammond out for at least another 3, we cannot rely on James and wotton alone for that long even if both did well tonight.

Quite honestly its funcking pathetic!!! I am only 30 myself but even when i started playing and watching the game that was no more than handbags and to say it results in a red is just crazy!! That said its the rules so players should not be so stupid to do it, but as mentioned their guy should have walked as it was 6 of 1 half dozen of the other, for me it was both of them off or neither, my personal thoughts are neither!!! Now the more important issue is Mr Pardew now has to sign a center mid before the next league game at least!!!!!!!!!!
