Reading friendly at St Mary's - 31st July 2010

How can season ticket details be announced in March when you don't know what league you are in? -
Just reminds people how vital and how good Lambert and Lallana are, and how little in the way of goals and assists we got from centre midfield this season.
-
Did I read somewhere that Pardew said if Hammond didn't improve his first touch he'd be out of the team? EDIT: Search says it was this thread I read it: http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?p=709705

I agree, I think he can be replaced.
-
Not like you to correct someone.
-
Lloyd James being linked with Bristol Rovers.
-
He'll struggle to make it in football now. Think that's three long term injuries he's had? Best wishes to him.

Sorry for not keeping tabs on the Premier League, I like to track League One to be honest. Martin Tyler said yesterday he was leaving Wigan and would like to stay in English football and I assumed he wasn't offered a new deal and may struggle to get a new one in the Premier League. Please accept my apologies. Thank god for your FM database. You'd have **** all to post without it. Thanks. -
The Torres debate and now this. Holy Moly.
-
Well that's just a stupid comparison because Rickie wouldn't score a hattrick in a bog at Tranmere. I'm 100% sure Torres would have a better chance of doing that. You're nuts. If people say David Connolly looks too good to be playing in this league what would people say about Torres??
-
If Torres played 20 games in League One, he would easily score 20 goals, easily. He is world class. Lambert is a League One player who has done well to score the 30 goals he has. And this talk about League One centre halves being able to cope with Torres better than Premier League defenders is unbelieveable. League One defenders wouldn't get near him. You also say he wouldn't get the service... Lallana's had enough service to be able to get 20 goals this season and he's had just as many chances as Lambert, and that's right, he's on the wing. Ridiculous!

Paul Scharner wants to "stay in English football". If he doesn't get an offer from a Premier League team perhaps he'd like a challenge to get back there from a lower league club? -
So have we signed this guy or not?
-
I'd rather have someone who knows the lower leagues and has managed at this level before, like Pardew.
-
Ashley Barnes would be great backup for Lambert but I think Plymouth may want him back now they are relegated.
-
That's Dickson and Hunt we've been linked with now. Are we really in the market for a left back?
-
Bunch of mugs.
-
Seems Waigo won't be staying then. We were linked with O'Donovan in January so this story does have some legs. I suppose with Connolly's injury problems we do need competition for Barnard. Think he can play on the wing too so he'd be good for the squad in a 4-4-2 or a 4-5-1.

More chance of signing Kapo then David Jones! Jones has been Wolves' best player since January. -
The only striker I can remember us being seriously linked with for backup to Lambert is Pericard, and I think he would have been a player who suits the role you speak of. This backup for Lambert may have to come from the lower leagues to be satisfied sitting on the bench each week.
-
I follow Torquay and he has been very injury prone this season, and during his career really. Missed a lot of this year, has come back for the last three games but then injured his groin yesterday and with Scott Bevan injured (he's also never fit!) he had to play the last half an hour injured. Both should be playing at a higher level, but both are being blighted by injury. Poke is good enough to be first choice backup, but I don't think his fitness record is good enough to be one. If they keep a clean sheet for the first 6 minutes of their next game against Notts County he will break the club record for minutes without conceding - breaking the previous record set by... Michael Poke two seasons ago. He's certainly been fantastic.
-
Can I ask the people saying Poke isn't good enough - how many times have you seen him play?
