I'd still like to know why the Ticket Office are not advertising and selling the remaining 10,000 tickets off cheap. Last home game of the existing regime. Clearance sale to save the club from extinction. No-one could complain At £15 each there is a possible revenue of £150,000 from ticket sales alone and another £50,000 plus on merchandise, food and drinks. Why are they not doing it. imo it's sheer incompetence and beggars belief. Am I missing something? Don't the club need the money?
-
Must admit I can't understand in these totally exceptional circumstances why the club would rather have 10,000 odd empty seats rather than have a clearance sale and sell them all off at £15 each. That's £150,000 extra at the turnstile, perhaps 5,000 extra programmes, 2,000 extra pints of pigswill and similar numbers of hotdogs and kitkats. I can only assume that the talk of going bust without extra money is a load of ****** or are the club that inept???

Meeting Thurs 23rd with Trust, SISA, Saveoursaints, 2 MPs, LM and MC
SP Saint replied to derry's topic in The Saints
We could even offer them a 'Buy one get one free' deal. After al we've got plenty of useless strikers to off-oad. -
Why not simply have a sale to get rid of the remaining tickets? Reduce the price and have a sell out. The megastore cuts prices on shirts and no-one complains. Ryanair etc do it with airline tickets. Come on ticket office - just do it and do it now.

Here you are Stu. From the horses mouth: Nick I on the Ugly http://www.clubfanzine.com/southampton/v2.forum.posts.php?id_t=107419 His two posts are at the bottom of the thread. He makes some other interesting comments too - it's worth a read -

FAO Derry: I'm glad you've disassociated yourself from the w@nk proposal put together by the Trust. This is only my opinion but it seems to me that if this is ever going to work SOS has to be totally single minded about what it's doing. Surely the business plan is to 1. Raise the required capital to buy the football club and 2. Install an experienced team to run the club I can't help think that the more bureaucratic types you involve (Trust /MPs) the more tangled up in knots the plan will get and the less likely it will be to succeed in it's objectives. I also wouldn't even contemplated bidding for Staplewood or Jackson's Farm. There won't be enough money and again it will reduce the chances of success. The people you need on your team right now are experienced fund-raisers, respected local figures such as ex-players and perhaps commitment from people capable of running the club off and on the field (these may have to involve current personnel such as Dave Jones to make it work imo). Would Benali and MLT commit to managing I wonder? Again just my thoughts but in summary I think your team needs to keep it's blinkers on and focus only on the objective at hand (not politics) and you need doers not talkers. Hope you have a good meeting this afternoon. -
This is what I was thinking too.

If I was an interested party, I'd be willing to do a deal today but on the basis that Saints are relegated and may also suffer a further 10 point deduction. The question is will the Administrator accept a bid at the moment, or will he delay, hoping that the club don't go down and/or that there is no point deduction? I hope he isn't doing this. If he's not, I don't see any reason for a delay in a deal - it will just be at a lower price than it might have been had we stayed up.

That sounds just like Rupert. He probably thought he was calling their bluff. Something like *They wouldn't dare pull the plug, they'll lose too much money*.
-
Are you bringing a few friends to the love-in BTF. Maybe it's not such a bad idea after all. Where is Misselbrook Manors?
-
Now I know for sure you're extracting the urine GM. It's very funny but you won't keep it up. By the way I think Tijuana Tim does the character better than you. Tijuana Tim

Why didn't Crouch save us from administration?
SP Saint replied to Nineteen Canteen's topic in The Saints
Well the opposite way of doing things didn't work out too well either did it? Your mate Rupert made a promise to bring us a Dutch revolution and actually delivered on it but it didn't seem to bring the punters back or the results did it? He also didn't bother with fan-friendly rhetoric when he felt his time was better spent saving the club. That may or may not be the best option. Surely you of all people haven't forgotten the time when we thought anyone new was better than the incumbent regime? I could live with Leon being involved again as long as Wilde and Lowe go back to their respective retirement homes and tax havens. -

SP Saint replied to Nineteen Canteen's topic in The Saints
I agree with everything Daren says above. Why the hell should Crouch throw yet more money in to prop up the idiots who have kicked him in the teeth time and time again. If Leon has £2 million more that he wants to spend on Saints, he would be far better spending it via a purchase of Southampton Football Club Ltd from the Administrators, possibly as a part of a consortium. Who's to say he isn't already in the prcess of doing this even if he hasn't had the courtesy to tell Somedunce C*nteen or Alpine Saint. I don't know why but I have this mental image of Somedunce going through obscure dictionaries in his sordid basement bedsit looking for more potential user names. -
He's certainly very odd. A fan who I bet hasn't been to more than 5 games in as many years, even when he lived in the UK.

Where Will the Creditors Get Their Money From?
SP Saint replied to Guided Missile's topic in The Saints
Yes of course. That makes sense. Hopefull it won't be Lowe and co then. -
Where Will the Creditors Get Their Money From?
SP Saint replied to Guided Missile's topic in The Saints
If the stadium was bought by the council and the other creditors of SLH plc were paid off (either in full or via a CVA), is there any possibility that SFC Ltd could resume business with it's previous shareholders (I assume that as a subsidiary of SLH this would mean the old shareholders of the plc)? It's probably a stupid question but would appreciate other peoples comments especially the experts among us. -
Why no message from the FOOTBALL CLUB board in the matchday programme?
SP Saint replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
And there was me thinking that the problem was down to the idiot of a Chairman replacing a good manager with a totally untried experimental system which has completely failed. -
£500K Needed to Keep Going to the End of the Season
SP Saint replied to Guided Missile's topic in The Saints
I think you're just feeding the troll. If Sundunce Canteen had any friends or a life at all, he wouldn't be trolling away on an internet forum at 1:30 in the morning. I don't believe he knows Lowelife or any of the other discarded directors of Saints. -
£500K Needed to Keep Going to the End of the Season
SP Saint replied to Guided Missile's topic in The Saints
It's perfectly legal between consenting adults over 21. I don't see why it should **** anyone off. It's their choice whether consortia join forces or not. It's also their choice whether they give info regarding their own bids to other people surely? Just the same as if I tell someone outside the Polling Station who I voted for. I don't quite understand why Mr FRy feels the need to 'encourage' it thought. Surely it's entirely up to the bidders themselves - they don't really need his opinion on it? -
I agree, for all the good intentions, no supporters groups are likely to raise £500K by the end of the season. In reality we just have to stand back and hope the Administrator can sell the club double quick as a going concern.
-
Am I alone in being very confused by this? Leaving to one side the 'are we SLH or SFC debate', if the club have had cheques bounced, surely we are already insolvent even before any donations have been made. I realise that any 'sales orders' made at the Administrators behest are guaranteed payment but where is this money coming from? Presumably Barclays' have temporarily extended their facility? If this is the case, why the need for donations?
-
Sorry - thought you were a lawyer who couldn't spell 'consent' which would have been a bit worrying.

As Mary C acknowledged in a radio interview a few months back.

You're not Lifelong Saint by any chance are you?
-
Lifelong Saint, Barry the Briefcase, St David, Paul Allen all come together of course and Paul Allen was only involved because LLS used his name to get in the door it would seem. Some say HMR was in fact Dan Williams the Blackburn fan in drag. Hopefully Lowe hasn't got the cash. Maybe Craig David. If anyone from Coldplay gets involved I would expect us to be playing somnambulist football. Wouldn't mind seeing Gwyneth Paltrow as Assistant Coach though. I reckon Weston knows the answer.
