To be fair Weston, this site exists for fans to express their opinions. These are hardly likely to change the outcome of financial negotiations with the Administrator so where's the harm? Now can you spill the beans please.
-
Cheers - I know you have a soft spot for them and I appreciate that beggars can't be choosers. If they do have the backing good luck to them.

Have to say I suspect there will be a few late runners in this race. Pinnacle seem to have fallen at the first hurdle. My guess is that Jackson and Green's bid will falter too. They may have learnt from their past experiences with Barry the Briefcase and the Cherries but I somehow doubt it (sorry Phil). If I was betting I reckon Salz could be worth a punt too. He doesn't strike me as a man who would bid if he didn't have the backers lined up. I think if I was bidding I would leave it as late as possible to show my hand.

They clearly realised that Lowe was well past his sell by date, his second relegation was looming and any chance of realising their debt with him at the helm was non-existent. I wouldn't be surprised if his arrogant stance in negotiations made him totally impossible to reason with as well. If only Leon had stayed on as Chairman things could have been so different don't you think jonah?

Looking at ladysaint's link which is quite interesting, I can't believe Green has the money either. I reckon we have 1. a pair of chancers in Green and Jackson who are bigging themselves up to the Echo - "ready to hand £500K over now". I don't believe it. 2. Pinnacle who aren't prepared to offer £14 million or put £500K at risk before DD. 3. Fry and the creditors asking an unrealistic figure of £14 million for a set of assets which is probably worth half that in the current climate. I hope Leon is willing to bankroll the fun and games for a few more months while the various parties get real. If not Saints really is history in it's current form. I don't feel optimistic at all.

Saints Ladies have just finished second in their League and got to the League Cup Final which they lost 2-0. Considering that it is a completely rebuilt team with only two players surviving from last season, most of the current team being Under-21's, it's a pretty impressive finish. The team was 'ditched' by Lowe a few years ago, despite the fact that the cost to the club was minimal. They currently survive as a self-finances organisation backed up by a number of girls teams aged 8 up. It would be nice to think that the refinanced club could offer some support, even if it is only the use of the ground at Staplewood to play matches. They currently play at Gang Warily near Fawley. http://www.pitchero.com/clubs/southamptonsaintslgfc/?

I completely agree Weston. As a loan the money is a generous action and his chances of seeing it repaid must be almost as slim as if he'd invested it in Merlion. He deserves the gratitude of all Saints fans for keeping the club alive. I don't see any other ex-directors doing the same. I feel sure he won't lose too much sleep if he doesn't get the approval of the Lowe lackeys that are still crawling out of the woodwork here and there.

Rupey Lowetter, coming to a Guildhall near you!

I always wondered why he seemed so attractive to Frank's Cousin. Now I understand. Not my type tho' I must say. -
Three very well reasoned posts imho. I agree that unfortunately it does increasingly look as if we are history, at least in our current form. I suppose someone will pay a pittance for the rights to the name and the registration rights to the Blue Square Premier and Saints 2009 Ltd will end up ground-sharing with either Eastleigh or Salisbury. If that IS what it comes to I will still be happy to give my support. At least we will have a club without the millstone of a large stadium with it's debt and running cost to fund and hopefully the only way will be up.

Has Stuart Green got anything to do with companies called Video Connections International or Unicol? I seem to remember the names being mentioned when Wacko was mounting his last 'bid' for Saints. http://www.videoconnections.ae/contact.html Where's GM when you need him? He must have all the old posts stored in his files.
-
I still think that any deal Wacko is involved in is likely to fall apart. Sure he has extensive contacts in his own mind plus all those he sold photocopiers to when he wasn't a photocopier salesman working for Xerox. He acted like a complete fool when he posted on here and I for one don't believe any genuine group of money men would work with him. Just look what happened at Bournemouth.

Fry fiddles (not in the corrupt sense) while Rome burns
SP Saint replied to OldNick's topic in The Saints
Sorry Phil but if a group that Wacko is assisting is our salvation it isn't even slightly reassuring. Anyone who takes him seriously cannot be a serious contender. (I'm assuming you mean that their offer was below expectations but is still on the table.) -

This thread is entitled: "Fry fiddles (not in the corrupt sense) while Rome burns " not "Nick is concerned that Fry fiddles (not in the corrupt sense) while Rome burns". Slightly misleading don't you think? -

[quote=nickh;296347 but as many have pointed out to me on this thread that we have no choice, the administrator is getting as much as he can for the creditors and doesnt worry what about the club. It is as though i didnt realise it but it shouldnt stop me voicing my genuine concerns At a wild guess you don't personally know either: a) the Administrator or b) any bidders for the club. This being the case your posts are pure unfounded speculation. You have found fame on the Ugly Inside however: http://www.clubfanzine.com/southampton/v2.forum.posts.php?id_t=111581#9 One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest -
Sorry but I have to disagree. I've met Hoos as well and I found him a decent down to earth guy who just wanted to get on with his job and avoid the internal politics. I think of the bunch that Wilde brought in he was the one who probably did earn his keep. After all he hasn't done such a bad job at Leicester along with Pearson has he?

Thanks for the update Derry. I can't believe that Pinnacle are a genuine player and we know all about MJ from the stories he told on here. I just hope that Ron is right about the other party because otherwise it doesn't sound too promising. -
Lowe & Richards in board room on Sunday at Forest....Confirmed by Club
SP Saint replied to exit2's topic in The Saints
The poor chap is sitting up all alone in his attic bed-sit trying to be ironic. I feel sorry for him too. I wonder what made switch from being confrontational to nice to Um Pahars in the space of a single post? I notice he refers to Sundance in the third person so they can't be one and the same. As Sundance is totally anonymous and not posting on here anymore, I can't see any reason why Um Pahars shouldn't post his old PM's on here. If Sundance was a known person or a current poster it would of course be a different matter. [-X Go for it Steve. Let's all have a larff!!! :smt117:smt117:smt117 -

The reason I'm not commenting on your 'views' if you can call them that, is because I don't want to feed the troll. Just showing you're not quite the clever chap you make yourself out to be. Oh and that's spelling (double 'l') and error (double 'r') Why don't you see if the chaps in one of the bedsits downstairs has a dictionary you can borrow? Oh and just to keep you happy: Please don't see me. -

I think you're the one with the problem old boy and it's not just your ill-educated spelling. -
I'd like to agree with you Tris but I need to run it past the Lodge first. (That's the Cotswold and Hampshire - CEOs, Accountants, Administrators and Computer Repairmen Branch.)
-
Sounds very feasible to me. One consortium did seem hot of the blocks in get due diligence done. They probably spent a fair amount to do this & could well be ready to do a deal. Interesting to hear the Surman sale mentioned. Fry said he was working on a contingency plan in case a deal didn't happen soon. Now we know what that was. £700K would give him a few more weeks to sell the club. Good news either way.
-
Yes that's about it. In Lowe's mind I doubt that it will ever be his fault. I have absolutely no doubt who put most of the coffin nails into this club's Premiership dream.
-
Talking of The Guardian I had no idea that pasting articles was illegal especially when they are freely available online. If that is the case and it puts this site at risk then it's fair enough that we are told. What I find ridiculous is the heavy handed Administrator on here who not content with just pointing out the fact, threatens infractions (using bold type of course). Nothing like being in a position of power and throwing your weight around is there? I expect it made him feel good though.

History not a subject you enjoy then Ponty? Personally I think we can learn a lot from the past. Isn't it the basis of civilization?
