  1. Wasnt that Jess Yates who thought he was the father of Paula Yates but it turned out to be Hughie Green
  2. I reckon SAA will be a decent player. However I wonder if there was an expectation within the club that Jay Robinson will turn out to be the longer term winger option.
  3. I have spent an hour or so of my life which I will never get back watching the live broadcast of Trumps Cabinet meeting. It reminded me of what would be expected from a similar meeting in North Korea or in the bygone days of Royal Courts, full of sycophantic warblings from his appointed stooges. To be fair there seemed to be one or two ideas that seemed reasonable if the actual detail contained within the presentation was actually correct. As we know Trump makes up figures off the hoof. One which stuck in my mind was his claim, made more than once, that the USA had lost 90,000 car plants in recent years due to relocation of vehicle production away from the domestic market. If this was true and assuming the US domestic plants build around 10m vehicles a year, each plant would build an average of 111 vehicles a year. Mass production that aint!!
  4. I will be renewing but have been a season ticket holder for many years and have had the same seat in the Itchen since St Marys opened although I am the only one of the five of us who sat together when the stadium opened. Sad to say that three of the group are not with us any more.
  5. Quite a few empty home seats again?
  6. Talk about pandemics, apparently the vaccine sceptic, Robert F Kennedy Jr is having to travel to Texas to console parents of a dead child who contracted measles. Having more or less eradicated the illness a few years back the pushback against the MMR vaccine has led to significant numbers of children not being immunised allowing the very infectious illness to return. Perhaps ingesting bleach might help?
  7. Marjorie Taylor-Greene is one who apparently shorted stock a day before Trump's Tariff announcement. She is obviously knows a thing or two about the stock market!!
  8. You are right, most workers have a defined contribution pension scheme called a 401(K) named after the relevant US Tax Code.
  9. In his younger days Trump created a non de plume, John Barron, who used to make calls to various people/media outlets etc with positive comments on Trump. Unfortunately he couldnt moderate the tone of his voice or the words used and most people knew it was Tump calling, His youngest son is named Barron which provides an additional clue.
  10. I think they would most probably be German from cruise ships operated by Aida Cruise Line who call regularly in Southampton as part of a European rotation. I walked through the centre of Southampton recently trying to visualise the place from a foreign cruise line passenger viewpoint. Unfortunately there was not a lot of positive things that I would be able to recommend to friends.
  11. Interesting to note that Trump used to complain that Obama took occasional time off to play golf. Trump seems to have forgotten that now and seems to fly from Washington to Florida to play golf most weekends, at considerable financial cost to the US tax payer, when the expenses of security, aero fuel etc etc are taken into account. Good old Donnie is en route for another game of golf as we speak.
  12. In defence of Tariffs They raise prices, slow economic growth, cut profits, increase unemployment, worsen inequality, diminish productivity and increase global tensions. Other than that, they are fine.
  13. Latest bit of Trump 'magic' Laura Loomer, that well known conspiracy theorist who actually has the honour of being accused of 'being off the scale' by Marjorie Taylor-Greene, dropped in for a fireside chat with her orange hued hero a couple of days back. She came bearing gifts ie a list of people within the Defence Dept she considered were not toeing the Trump line. As a consequence six National Security Officers were given the heave ho. Heaven help us all.
  14. Anyone know what the 'official' attendance was for the game compared to the actual number 'Marching Onwards' through the turnstiles?
  15. When you look at the two wins this season. One was against Everton, who were in a poor run of form under Dyche. They had a goal very marginally given offside and then hit the bar in the closing stages. Could very well have been a draw. Similar at Ipswich. They were the better side then, fortunately for us, their keeper messed up presenting Tall Paul with the winner. If these fine margins had gone against us, then we would now be on 5 points and no wins.
  16. I think in our first relegation from the old First Division, we were already down when we went to Goodison Park, scene of our normal defeats, and won 3-0!! Perhaps we could do something similar and spoil the last game at Goodison, this season.
  17. Beatts and Henry have pieces about them in todays Sunday Times, if anyone is interested. Beatts about his job as Sports Director at AFC Totton and Henry concerning his Financial background and his comments on Thomas Tuchel.
  18. Watching Sheff Utd v Coventry tonight. Decent game and makes you realise that it could be better to watch games in the Championship than our shit show in the Prem
  19. Conversation at the White house today between the President and Vice President.......... Donald.....'Where ya goin JD?' JD...........' Off to Nuuk, Greenland' Donald....'Bit dramatic but make sure you wipe out all the Liberals, especially those fuckin Danes' It will show the rest of the world you dont mess around with us. Better not put your intentions on our Group Chat.
  20. I must firmly disagree about your claim that KWP has 'given up' He may have occasionally fallen below the 7/10 level he normally plays at but his performances are generally better than most of his team mates. I agree with you re Manning who may not be a Premier level player but I think he has been OK in recent games especially as he arrived on a Free,
  21. Apart from their cameo performances about a month ago, no more appearances for either Stewart or Larios. Doesnt seem to be particularly positive news.
  22. It costs me around £3 per week to fund the BBC. For me that is great value compared to other alternatives, especially as I dont have to put up with commercial adverts.
  23. I reckon you are right that because Biden supported Ukraine and the Kiev Govt wouldnt give up any info on Hunter Bidens Lap Top, Trump has the hump.
  24. Scored for Cambridge tonight at his previous loan club Blackpool Another loanee, midfielder O'Brien-Whitmarsh got two for Accies in their 5-0 battering of Newport
