  1. Ditch the suit, change the haircut and recycle this classic
  2. We are fortunate to have such a cool head at the helm. Forza Nicola!
  3. Funny how no-one has actually seen the programme and if there were any in the superstore we'd have had the column scanned into the forum by now - talk about rumour factory! Pardew's post match comments were similarly about 'we' rather than 'the team' which suggests he will or at least wants to stay.
  4. Hi guys - though I don't live there I spend a lot of the winter in Frigiliana, which is a beautiful white village 30 minutes north of Malaga. When I'm not at home watching Saints (and earning a living) I try to get to see CF Malaga at La Roselida and every now and again some mates come over for football weekends. But it's more difficult with the fixture congestion - I had seen every Saints match this season but missed the last two and ten bloody goals!
  5. Thanks MW - unfortunately loyalty has cost the club a lot in the past - Messrs Grey and Wigley spring to mind - so it's 'not personal' as our Michael Corleone lookalike CE might say. Ignore the spiteful, nasty comments above - there can be nothing lower than kicking someone who has just lost their livelihood - just take note that the vast majority of fans respect the dignity and effort that you have shown. Good luck for the future.
  6. According to Wikipedia the Liebherrs are German and moved their businesses to Switzerland for tax reasons. And does this mean that the Germans, who know how to win the occasional shoot out , might want the greatest penalty taker of all to join the band? Step forward MLT...
  7. seen walking through Southampton airport this afternoon wearing (I think) a Saints tie
  8. ...and I think it's worth making quite clear that it was the LibDem Council at Eastleigh that opposed the stadium from the very beginning. Let's face it has anyone met a LibDem who likes football?!The extra facilities to make the development stand up financially were just an excuse for them to oppose it after the planning inspectorate gave it the go ahead (so the 'strategic gap' argument is irrelevant). We were bailed out by Southampton's Labour Council, who bent over backwards to support the club's search for a new ground. Worth thinking about when you vote in a few week's time!
  9. Nice to read a discussion about Lowe without all of the headbanger comments. I think the general thrust is right - he got us the stadium, the youth facilities and let's not forget getting to the FA Cup Final. But he made some dire manager appointments (usually when promoting from within and trying to do it on the cheap, which you simply can't in the Premiership) and we were let down by a succession of managers who walked away from the club. Yes he played a part and was has a big ego (though maybe not as big as Leon Crouch's) but I think that everybody needs to share the blame, including the fans who opposed the return of Hoddle.
  10. Leave off the nasty comments about DH getting a testimonial. His time at Saints was cut short by dodgy knees and I'd rather put my money in the pocket for him than players who have had ten years' worth of Premiership wages that they've gambled away or spent on Lamborghinis.
  11. Well I was there and I must say that it was Cork's most disappointing game for us. He looked off the pace and was roasted a few times including for the second goal. He gave up on some passes to run on to as well. DMG I think suffers from the 'one up front' formation - he can head the ball on and down quite well but had nobody to run off him. Jan P has a difficult job but if I have one complaint about him it is the formation. We deserved at least a point from a match ruined by the ref and Euell's 'victim' feigning injury (he didn't even have the sense to pretend to limp off the field) and if they keep playing this way I'll still be there watching them. Let's face it, the only hope for success of any kind these days is to have a billionaire benefactor, so until one comes along we can at least hope to be entertained. COYS Andy
  12. Fuengirola Saint ....hello from a Frigiliana Saint! You probably heard me cheering from just up the coast. Are you also a Malaga supporter? Cheers Andy
