  1. Here is a real gent and a fantastic poster on Saints List, and his enthusiasm for all things Saints seems boundless. Congratulations Herbie!
  2. I can only see Podcast one as well. Are there any more? I live in California, and loved hearing the footy chat from the first one. More please!
  3. I really hope that we do not change our kit to our first one. The club is identified around the footballing world as having a variation of red and white stripes. We like and respect tradition; and for nearly all of our history, we have worn the red and white stripes. Rather than go and completely change this, why not submit a choice of kits for the fans to choose from? This way; the fans who would actually buy the shirts, could voice their opinion, and have their say via a vote (personally; I would go with a version of our very first red and white stripe kit, I think in 1902). As admirable as the actual idea of celebrating our anniversary with this kit may be; I would not want this to go ahead as our new home kit. I display my Saints crest (tattooed on my arm), and wear my numerous shirts with pride, but I personally would not wear the proposed diagonal striped kit. Mods; how about a vote on this subject?
  4. I live in Santa Rosa (an hour north of San Francisco), so I need to be able to get a squad pic online, but can't seem to find a high resolution pic anywhere (def not on the OS). Does anyone have any ideas?
  5. I have just received this reply to my original email (below). Dear Supporter, Thanks for you feedback. We are speaking to our website hosts regarding this issue and hope they will be able to resolve it as quickly as possible. I have also forwarded your comments to customerservices@performgroup.com as they are the people best placed to deal with this issue. Many thanks, Southampton FOOTBALL CLUB http://www.saintsfc.co.uk Saints Player - live commentary - I wanted to let you know that throughout the game against Northampton (and Millwall), the commentary completely blanked out for a few seconds on many, many occasions. Sometimes it was a constant stream of mini silences and made listening to the game at times impossible. I hope that you will be able to fix this as soon as possible. I am a member of a few Saints Forums, and can assure you that many other people have had the same experience. On a seperate note, please, please bring back Will Cope and his various Saints legends. I'm sorry, but dear old Dave Merrington is many things, but a radio commentator he is not.
  6. I actually liked Will Cope and the many Saints legends he had as a partner. Sorry, but dear old Dave Merrington is definetly not a radio commentator, and it is becoming quite annoying having to listen to him drone on and on in that thick accent he has. Sometimes you need to be entertained at the same time, and "Flash" Gordon, Mark Denis and Jimmy Case were always entertaining to listen to if nothing else.
  7. As I now live in Santa Rosa (40mins north of San Francisco), I totally depend on Saints TV for commentary, and have had a paid subscription for a few years. I emailed the club about my concerns and this is the reply I got back. I hope this helps. "Thanks for your e-mail. As I am sure you are aware, commentary for Saints TV has always been provided by Radio Hampshire (formerly The Saint), however, at short notice Radio Hampshire recently entered Administration and subsequently folded, before being bought out by Play Radio – who now reside in their former premises here at St Mary’s. We were made aware shortly before Radio Hampshire folded that it was unlikely they would be able to fulfil their contractual obligations to broadcast commentary of all Saints fixtures during the 09-10 season. For this reason, discussions have been ongoing over the summer to find a solution to this problem, and ensure that all our subscribers would still be able to tune in on a Saturday afternoon for all the action. At this moment in time, we are at advanced stages of negotiations with BBC Radio Solent with regards to them taking over the commentary service that we provide through Saints TV, and are hopeful of a successful conclusion very soon. The Solent guys have been commentating on Saints for many years now and as such have a great knowledge of everything that happens on a matchday. As soon as this is process is completed we will let fans know through the Club’s Official Site. I hope this goes some way to easing your concerns! Kind Regards, Jordan Sibley, Press Officer
  8. I have been supporting Saints all my life, and had a season ticket for many years, but in 1999 I moved to Santa Rosa, California. Even my wife (local girl) is crazy about Saints. We would not know what we would do without our live matchday commentary. We subscribe to SaintsTV, and we would be distraught if we had that taken away from us. When we score we both jump out of our chairs, shouting COYR!!! If we are doing badly, then we both hurl abuse at the person(s) responsible! It's just like we are at the game, and the outcome of the result effects our whole weekend (good or bad). The BBC do not allow braodcasts outside of England, so we are screwed there. Please Saints, do not get rid of the online matchday commentary. It means the world to us, as I'm sure it does to many others around the world.
