If people really have to analyse our entire promotion credentials after every game then ours is a point gained last night whereas Bournemouth, Peterborough and Huddersfield are most definitely 2 points dropped. All that matters is where we are after 46 games; leagues are not won and play off places are not decided in February with 17 games remaining! Ups and downs, smiles and frowns. We have games in hand on all around us, lots of very winnable games plus exciting visits to the current top 2.

Saints 4 P'Boro 4 - Post Match Reaction
The Dogman Of Bassett replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
Four points from Exeter & Peterborough away is great. Manure lost a one goal lead tonight, losing to the bottom team in the Prem. Arsenal surrendered a FOUR goal league to a side without a recognised Premier League striker; the three on their books have fifteen Premier League starts between them. By comparison, both results are worse than ours. Has that derailed their respective Championship bids? I'd say no. A bad day at the office for them, nothing more. People on here need a bit of perspective. -
Apparently there was tear up in town late last night involving our players, one of whom was bottled. Every available police unit was summoned.

The club is clearly better off without fans like you.

Is there a bookies in Southampton taking bets on this? Every one I have been to are not betting on it, would appear to be online only.

He's fat and rubbish. Mugged us off big time, why the **** anybody would want him back is beyond me!

Norwich have picked up 41 points from the last 15 games they have played. I cannot believe people on here are so negative with 18 games to go, especially off the back of a great performance on Saturday. We have some real quality to put back into the side that played so well against the scum, and if we go on a run then we will make it, simple as that. If we don't we won't! But don't mug yourselves by calling it mid Feb...!

Would you sign Papa Waigo N'Diaye on a permanent basis?
The Dogman Of Bassett replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
I wouldn't sign either him or Antonio. Papa just hasn't got it and Antonio is far too predictable. -
Stupid thread.

Great read, keep it up.

Can anyone see Cortese putting up with this much longer ?
The Dogman Of Bassett replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
I agree with most of that, but Papa was not poor. He set up two clear chances for players to have what was in effect a penalty opportunity: a clear shot with only the keeper to beat from 12 yards, only for their keeper to make 2 world class saves. He doesn't speak English and has been in Italy for quite a few seasons, he will be a good player for us, no doubt. -
For the attention of Markus Liebherr

Absolutely pathetic. What a fool you are. -
What an amazing post; amazingly stupid post. Do you have any comprehension of what is going on and what is required to turn a bankrupt team of losers into a winning team capable of achieving? No, I thought not.

Saints sign Dean Hammond from Colchester
The Dogman Of Bassett replied to Saint_clark's topic in The Saints
Why wouldn't you be sure about this signing? 200 appearances, captain of Colchester and far, far better than Wootton who I am guessing he will be replacing. Exactly what we need to help get us out of this division. We know there are more players coming - Jaidi would be here now if there weren't work permit issues. People need to calm the **** down and realise that the team that Pardew inherited is, give or take, rubbish. Building a winning team will take time, and even a blind man can see with the signings so far and the promise of more to come, we are taking huge strides in the right direction. -
Awful post, sorry.

Just had a text from a friend who works for Bristol Rovers: "Lambert is going to Southampton, he's having his medical this morning".

All I know is they employ over 7,000 people and have an empire worth Billions.

Did you read the sticky about cutting and pasting? "You must not copy and paste articles from other news sources onto this forum." I suggest you edit your post and simply use the hyperlink. -
As I understand it Rupert Lowe has approached Tom Scott about investing in the club. It is no surprise that the only 'leak' is from a party Lowe is involved with, Daily Mail anyone? The other 3 parties involved have all signed NDA's, so there will be nobody slipping bits of information to Sky, or anybody else for that matter. IMO Lowe is desperately trying to do something at the last minute, please God let him fail!

Owls 2-0 Saints - Post Match Reaction
The Dogman Of Bassett replied to Arizona's topic in The Saints
My friend is a Sheffield Wednesday season ticket holder, he sent me this email: What the f*** has happened to the Saints? 2 or 3 years ago you battered 4 past us at Hillsborough if I remember rightly, best team we saw for the whole of that season! Saturday was the worst team we've seen all this season, I can't remember ever playing a Southampton side that couldn't care less before! -
Nothing is happening. Lots of enquiries but everybody is sitting on the fence and waiting. I have it on the highest authority that unless 400k is raised by the Burnley game then we will not play that match, and the club will go to the wall. A big celebrity kick about is being arranged at St Mary's (the end of next week I believe, announcement imminent) in a desperate attempt to raise funds and get us through to the end of the season.
