  1. Carbs has got his 200. Lumb out for 20 just as SSN announced he was the only uncapped pick in the 30 man squad for the Champions Trophy in September. Just reward for his 1-day form this season.
  2. £3.70 at the Test Match last week. Pedigree in some bars, but not all.
  3. FA Cup 4th rd replay 74. I skived off school for that one. 2 pm ko as it was during the floodlight ban, 3 day week etc.
  4. 309-1 at close. Carbs 183no. "Are you watching, Ashley Giles". Well, actually, he was. Jimmy out for 90. 261 for 1st wkt. Incidentally, Carbs highest score is 192 v Warwickshire 2007 at Rose Bowl.
  5. I played there in april and it was in good nick. Agree about C course, so stick to A & B. I suggested it as it is fairly cheap, central and has a half decent bar.
  6. Or, indeed, Div 3.
  7. 484-7 dec. Trott 184no Woakes 131no (ye gods!) Another 2 catches dropped by Burrows and Tahir, making 8 at least. Saving grace is that we wont have to bowl again this match and can treat the next 11/2 days as a glorified net.
  8. If we book it as a Society, it would probably have to be midweek (Friday). I would recomend Wellow.
  9. Nick Halling. He used to write for the matchday mag and on the few occasions I've been in the corporate, he is often there and happy to talk.
  10. So the skates a beard?? Google "Natalie Sawyer" and its on The Liverpool Way discussion on the posterior preference for either Georgie Thompson or her. Last 2/3 pages. HTH
  11. Saw on another site (possibly Scouse) that she is holding hands with the skate, Matterface. As he is an ugly farquhar, I can only assume he can lick his own eyebrow.
  12. Thought he bowled a very good spell after tea and should have had Trott caught, but Dawkins was stood too wide at 1st slip. Lumb presumably has injured a hand otherwise he would have been there. I left at 5pm when they went off for bad light and have just seen the final score. This is a mirror image of the Notts game last month. Put a nipper in at no.9 and he will get a career best and put on shed loads. Had a chat with Billy and he is resigned to not playing Saturday and is thinking of going into umpiring. As I was his club captain when he started, I suddenly felt very old.
  13. This ain't no party. This ain't no disco.
  14. I'm sure I've heard this story before.
  15. 106-5 off 39. Tomlinson 3 for, incuding the legend that is Ian Bell for 7.
  16. I would imagine sitting next to Millie Clode would help speed up his recovery. Good luck Ed. Hope to see you at Lords on Saturday.
  17. But what about the lights????
  18. Is it next door to a crematoriam?
  19. So rather than ITK, you are ITC (in the coma).
  20. I was going to the Rose Bowl but for the bleedin rain.
  21. What about those searchlights at about 2am weekend before last? Bit late for WWII.
  22. The best explanation for why we haven't been back. A couple of years ago, during our local pub quiz. Q. What was Valentina Tereshkova famous for. A. 1st woman in space. Our former landlord, quiz master and local Sid the Sexist, was approached by a young girl from a team of students, complaining that they should have been awarded a mark for the right answer. "No" he replied "There hasn't been a woman on the moon. It dosen't need cleaning yet."
  23. Whilst I feel Bopara cannot be dropped yet, I would be looking at county openers to be the next no 3. As there is every chance the batter could be in during the 1st over, why not someone like Denly or Moore (worcester) who both batted well against the Aussies for the Lions recently. Not forgetting Carbs if he keeps this current run up and would be Ponting's next run-out nightmare.
  24. Possibly. In those un-enlightened times you could take your own in. We virtually re-assembled the County Club bar in the back row of the Upper Compton.:smt030:drinkers::smt078
