A bit older than 77. He wasn't new born when he went to the game.
-
I was in there also. With a mate from Surbiton.

Xymox - Clan of Xymox. Or was it the other way round?

Snatch!! Welcome to the board. Pay your fiver, tightwad or I'll post recollections of your Sunday league history. Up the press. Oh and was it your car that didn't get us to Knebworth?

Not sure that I was at the same game as this poster. Just because he got the ball more than anyone else does not warrant this blinkered praise. He is painfully slow and was beaten numerous times in the part of the pitch that a full back should be judged by. Brighton played several players on their left, during the match and they all beat him comfortably. The 3rd goal being a classic case where he was never close enough to foul, let alone tackle. His free kicks and corners were back to the standard of early season and as pointed out by others on here, his crosses in play were from too deep and were easily defended. But hey! Lets make him MOM.

9.00 Marchwood Motors coach from the Civic Centre. Stopped at Sun Inn? Popham on the way back. Then The Highfield and its licence extension to midnight. and then in any available car to the Rose Gardens, by which time it was raining. Tried to sit on random cars, but kept slipping off and then it was up the scaffolding outside Zurich Insurance in Above Bar. a ccopper climbed up to get us down and got stuck. I managed to get back to Swaythling and was promptly picked up by my taxi- driving cousin and taken to a party in Bassett Ave. Got home 24 hrs after leaving.

If thats the same one he was with when he first signed, then she would be a nailed on winner in the Wags ratings mentioned on another thread. :smt055

The Official "I'm going to Hartlepool on a Tuesday" thread

Four of us going up by car and staying in 'pool. Also got ex-pats from Carlisle and Newcastle coming to swell the crowd. -
Beattie never missed for us, neither did Pahars or Rasiak. When we had that mare against Watford last year, was that the first we had missed since Le Tiss v. Forest? Dont include the shoot-out at Derby.

Ok, I will probably get lambested for this one...

IMHO Waigo has learnt the offside rule pretty well since the MK Dons game. I dont think he was flagged once at Orient and last night once, which has been called an incorrect decision on the "Offside Rule" thread. I fully expect him to start on Sunday. -
The offside was in the build up to thetr goal, not the cross that McKenzie scored from. The lino, or should I call him an ass. ref? didn't notice Youga stood right in front of him. No surprise really as he got virtually every other decision wrong, apart from those where he waited for the ref to call, then waived his flag accordingly.

The 81 game was a December midweek, just after we had beaten Manure 3-2 with Keegan's grat disallowed goal. If we had won we would have gone top for the 1st time ever, but lost 2-0 and had to wait for Boro away the next month. If memory serves me right, Terry Connor and Andy Ritchie (a regular pain in the harris!) scored and we sulked back to the Frog & Frigate with some gloating Brighton friends of ours.

Allow me to be the first to worry that Pards will be their first choice.

Tell him all about Frank Worthington, who only scored 4 goals for us, but thanks to his many assists, got us to an FA Cup Semi-Final and runners-up in the league. Also, if he can pull the same type of stunning blonde, in leather trousers, then he might thank you in later life. Just off for a cold shower.

Thanks Bri. You sliding tackle was the highight of Saints in the early seventies. Would earn far too many Red Cards now though.

Mark Fry (Begbies Traynor) given award
Lets B Avenue replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
Hey Mark. Is that the fat Russian bird that Draino had to kick out of his flat? -
Only in that the word came from the very nice mouth of the lady in the box office, when she sold me my usual seats at 2.30. HTH I put this in as post #28 and Ron Manager quoted me in post #35. Am I on your ignore list and ifso, why?

Only 69%, but I am off the booze this month.

Kingsland Blocks 34 & 35 now on sale.

Haye thoroughly deserved the win. I hope his next fight is against Jim Watt, whose commentary last night, bordered on the ridiculous. He was calling punches for Valuev that missed Haye by miles. His card had Haye losing by 3. Pension him off please, Sky.

Ditto. In front of the tea bar. Thanks to Hector for putting salt in my coffee instead of sugar. Told the others in my car that it was going to rain during the game and they gave me stick for buying a new coat in the morning. At h-t they were asking if I was going to take it back for a refund. He who laughs last etc. etc.

Radio Shows that horrified you when you were Young

Went to most of the above, except Police, who I had seen several times in London but couldn't get a ticket for the Gaumont, once "Walking on the Moon" had got to no.1. Nils Lofgren (supported by Joan Armatrading) was a great night. Keef don't go and stay off that trampet. -
