I see the point that taking a degree that's got nothing to do with what you want to do can be rather unhelpful. However, people seem to be slating it totally. I think university is fantastic. I'm here now and it's been one of the best things i've ever done. The changes i've made to my future already have been fantastic. If I had not gone to uni I would be working in childcare somewhere, which I don't think I would enjoy long term and wouldn't be me reaching anywhere near my potential. I'm doing an accounting degree, which is what I want to do in the future, and the degree will mean I don't have to do as many of the CIMA exams later on. I think there's a lot of point to my degree and I wouldn't change my decision to come here if I could. Plus... I wouldn't have my season ticket to saints if I hadn't have bothered to go to uni as I would still be living in the little town where I came from and wouldn't have met the person who 'introduced me'.

Me too. It takes me a little longer to get to sleep when i'm not on my own. Also takes longer when i'm not in my own bed. It used to take ages, but since i've moved it's been a lot faster for some reason. Recently i would guess at about 5-10mins when i'm at home on my own.

Tonight - head up to boyfriends and demand sympathy for painful arm (had the holiday jab today) Tomorrow - get train to southampton for match, then back up to boyfriends, then go out somewhere but haven't made plans yet Sunday - holiday shopping Hope you have a good birthday JonnyLove. As it's your birthday weekend surely you get the decide on the times for everything? -
I haven't been yet but I would assume it'll be the nurse. Thanks for letting me know that, if it doesn't work i'll find someone else to have a go. I need to move my doctors anyway now that i've moved.
-
Raymond road surgery. I didn't have to fight at all. I just phoned and said "I need my ears done". All she said was I had to put the oil in my ears between now and the appointment and they could fit me in wednesday. I think your doctor is making stuff up. Although, tbf, i'm pretty sure it's the nurse who does it rather than the doctor.
-
Between tomorrow and wednesday - 5 and a half days? I've never had this done before (i'm assuming that's why I can't hear anything). Does it hurt then? I've just looked at the prices of the jabs and that will be a large pain to my purse. I don't fancy hurtey ears too! ...roll on holiday time

Here's a laugh... they said they can do me an appointment fine but I'd have to go in tomorrow morning to fill in a form for what I want and they'll make me an appointment while i'm there. I said that sounded like far too much work for something that should be simple, so they gave me the number of somewhere who said "would you like it done today". Much better and I will now be having it done tomorrow morning because i'm working tonight. It means i'm going to be in southampton 3 times in less than a week though! I'm not impressed at having to put olive oil in my ears 4 times a day between tomorrow and wednesday though - seems a bit excessive!
-
I've found they tend to open at 8am and all the appointments have gone by 8:02. So you have to get through on the phone between 8:00:00 and 8:01:59. Thanks for reminding me I need to book an appointment to sort out my ears and get the jabs for holiday. I might have a laugh and phone them now to see if they have anything available.

What goes through you're mind when someone says "Lets go for a drink"?

That's really funny! -
I have a pair but due to the reasons you've said I only wear them as slippers indoors and/or for very quick trips (to take the bin out or something). They are very warm and cosy, so I assume that's the reason, but I just couldn't wear them out. I have bought a pair that look fairly similiarish that I can wear.

I got half price lucozade in woolworths in southsea today. The one in the main highstreet has now closed. As I walked past it this afternoon some bloke turned to his mate, hit him gently to get his attention, and said "oi, what 'appened to woolies". I now understand why they have put up a huge tv in the guildhall that has bbc news on.

You're actually fairly amusing. I do not have self esteem or confidence issues etc. I handle it fine, not keen on it but I don't imagine a lot of people are! Interesting I do seem to get a good reception from blokes parents. But no, i'm not free saturday, i'm washing my hair.
-
I can confirm I am thin. But I most certainly do not do 'girly shy' and you seem to have built up an opinion of me which is totally wrong. I wish you good luck in doing better next time you make a guess at something.

I paid for my subscription thank you very much. I won't say anymore for a good reason that I don't want to say on here... the person who did it knows why.

Kind of fair enough if it was a joke but it didn't sound like one, and knowing the effort that he goes to I still don't think it's at all appropriate to tell everyone it's his fault. Yes he does try hard. It's not his fault some people can't make it, others are useless letting down at the last minute etc and therefore you end up with only 9. I know he tries very hard, i've seen him.

Stop being such a girl and don't blame Steve for your injury. If you can't cope with getting injured then don't play football. It happens sometimes, I bet you're one of the first ones to yell get up when someone else gets hurt. I would have felt slightly sorry for you had you not tried to blame Steve for it. He tries really hard to get people to play and to run the team and that's the thanks he gets for it? Along with being let down at the last minute and all the other problems he gets given.

Today - Worked in day, nothing tonight. Tomorrow - Working till 1:30, have lunch and then pop over to southampton to pick up post and eat chips, nothing in evening. Must tell everyone my new address. Wednesday - Not much during the day, rush packing at the last minute and then head up to boyfriends. Thursday - Sleep, open presents, huge lunch. Then sit around playing with presents and the puppy and drink into the evening. Friday - Sleep in morning. Head over to the house of a member of boyfriends family to have lunch and meet lots of (entire?) extended family. Eeep! In evening go back to his house and drink lots. Saturday - Sale shopping during day, seeing we will rock you in london in the evening Sunday - Going to football match, hurray to the fact that my season ticket will actually be used for once. Going to a spa one day but not sure when. -
So what's your view then? Why are ours so funny?

Tonight - not a lot as usual for a friday night for me because of work. I'll wrap presents and play on the wii though. Tomorrow - Work in the morning, boyfriend coming down to pick me up and move stuff out of my storage (if we bother which is unlikely), then going up to his area for a meal. I'm not sure what to expect out of the meal, his sister is hosting it and so far all i've been told is they're cooking and the location is unconfirmed. Could be interesting! Sunday - spend the morning in bed, might go back to the spa i went to on wednesday because i loved it. Then back to pompey ready for work very early monday morning. -
Sounds like a large amount of man flu flew in through the window, quite by chance, and caught him off guard

I've called them three times, one of each actually. The first time was for an ambulance when I came home and my mother was vaguely crawling, mostly lieing, on the floor vomiting all over herself. She was drugged and drunk according to the ambulance man. The second time was when I was babysitting and I heard footsteps to the door and the door handle move, assuming it was the parents I said hello and prompty heard running away, so i called the police. I don't think that was totally necessary as he obviously ran away when I said hello. The third one was when I came down the stairs to an awful lot of smoke, went in the kitchen to find the microwave on fire, so i called the fire brigade. They were very nice and even fitted us a new fire alarm.

The question is 'what' and the answer is an Inertial Navigation System.

My personal advice to your friend would be to not tell anyones parents and offer any help getting to the abortion clinic they might need. I'm sure they'll get a good sex education lesson there. The Ella Gordon unit in Portsmouth is very good. It's at St Marys hospital. Easily accessible. As far as i'm aware they don't have the abortion that day - they have a consultation and then go back for the abortion another day. That gives them time to think about all the advice that the clinic gives them. I'm sure they will talk about telling their parents there, and the clinic will give very good advice. Rather than your friend going and telling everyones parents when it could so easily be the totally wrong thing to do.
