Talk Sport are saying that Saints are defending heroically, no lack of effort evident today and looking quite comfortable. Not sure if they are at the same game as the posters on here. Saints fans giving rapturous applause to their players. So who's right...?

Dave Merrington will be a hard act to follow... Dave didn't always please everybody, but he was a character. I know Jo filled in when Dave was not available, but can't remember what he was like working with Adam. A new era...!

Sad news. I was a young lad walking up Archers Road on my way to the Dell to collect autographs. Jimmy came out of his house just as I was passing. I couldn't believe my luck so I offered up my book. He smiled, signed it and handed it back. Much to my surprise, he started chatting to me and we walked all the way into the car park still chatting like old mates. Great guy and a fantastic player for Saints. Thanks Jimmy...

No, what he's saying is that they will issue new guidelines, possibly at the end of February 2020. As it stands, there is no 'clear and obvious' element for offside. As one quote went, 'you can't be a little bit pregnant...'

Having just read up on VAR rules, it seems that 'clear and obvious' doesn't apply to offside decisions. Either you are or you're not... Think they will have to re-write the offside rule as this is a 'clear and obvious' conflict with the game at the moment...

I don't think he will go in this window, unless of course we have someone lined up to replace him. What if Danny gets injured? Likely, we know.. Difficult to judge at the moment, a month ago I would happily have sold the lot of them..! The difference in a few weeks is staggering, as we know. But is this a false dawn, should we stick with this squad on the basis of the last few weeks...? Or get a CB and midfielder just in case..? Who'd be a manger, eh...?

Well if RH doesn't start him today I think we can safely say that Che will be off in the summer. We can't have that amount of cash tied up in a player who isn't going to start against a Championship side..

I'd be tempted to put Stephens at RB and Bertrand at LB. The two CB positions are anyone's guess. Probably Yoshida and Bednarek. As mentioned above, in the short term we need Romeu sat deep to try and shore things up. But he ain't going to stop the individual errors we keep seeing every week. Damage limitation until we can get someone in during the January window. Have no stomach for seeing Vestergaard in a Saints shirt ever again.....

Stephens and Bednarek at CB, if the usual full backs are fit. Otherwise Stephens at RB, me at LB with Yoshida in the middle. The rest stay the same. It ain't perfect but it's our best hope until the January window. Welcome Ralph...!!

To be honest, I don't think we're doing too bad. We're playing one of the best teams in the PL and keeping the score reasonable. Battling away in midfield and flashes of confidence from the strikers. Only a brilliant save by their keeper stopped us scoring. It's not all doom and gloom but can't get away from the comical defending. Anything better than 3-0 and I'll be happy...

When the u has an umlaut accent above it, it is a bit tricky to pronounce. Closest sound to it in English is "oo". I was taught that you form your lips as though to say "oo", but then try to say the "ee" sound. Dave Merrington's worst nightmare....!

I'm meaning that we don't have much footballing experience on the board, the very people who we task with appointing the new manager. Les, for all his faults, was the only one with a footballing background and he did get us a couple of good managers. Not trying to defend him by any means, just pointing out the weaknesses of the management.

Really don't have much confidence in the club appointing the right guy, given the CV's of the people on the board.. I want so much to be proved wrong, please can we get it right this time...
