  1. and that is why loads of other premiership clubs were in the hunt for him, eh? lets face it, if any premiership or championship club were even remotely interested in Pards, he'd be off like a shot. i don't think it is unfair, contraversial or even that suprising to say that people view his tenure as West Ham manager as a case of 'what might have been'. Widderington, however, in one foul swoop has made the jump from unibond to championship. I confidently predict that within 3 years he will be in the premiership. Anyone who saw Salisbury playing last year would tell you the same. I am fed up with uninformed morons coming on here and telling me my business.
  2. Wrong. I am Atticus Finch of Maycomb. Wilts was banned by ultimate irony.
  3. I was one of the many people who was in favour of Widderington getting to job when he was in the running for it. He was a legend for us when he was here, a midfield general much like Maddison/Chaplow/Mark Hughes before him with loads of games experience and a passion for the club. Living in Salisbury I have seen what he has put together and built the team up (financial irregularities aside) and was still a useful player as well - the unibond league and league 1 aren't all that different and he would have given us a few more options in defense/midfield. I was happy enough when Pardew came but given the choice between someone who had failed at West Ham or a new young manager with a succesful manager/coach career already being carved out, it would have been quite a difficult choice tbh. All I am saying, basically, is that I think that quite a few people would have been pleased to see Widderington in our dugout. Maybe even with a squad number on his back.
  4. I think that this is really good advise. I teach football sessions a couple of times a week and (obviously) every young nipper wants to play in the offense and hardly any are interested in learning about defense. When I get a really keen little guy who wants to learn about playing in defense I am often at a loss on what to tell him. Usually I tell him the basics: Don't turn your back on goal when defending, don't try and play the off side trap (rarely works), clear it long and hard when under pressure, encourage your winger to take it to the byline, etc. I like TT's advise on defense. I will try it out this tueday and get back to you about it TT. I can see that you obviously coach a lot your self. Any other advise I would appreciate. Certainly makes my life easier!
  5. still doesn't explain why stu wrote 'mate' in his opening post. maybe we could just put that down to wishful thinking on stu's part.
  6. I find it unlikely that a guy like you, Stu, is ever going to be in the position to have a mate, girlfriend or both.
  7. You are right. It was. God knows why SG and Boj had to change all that for this monstrosity.
  8. I agree 100%. Someone has seriously messed up. Looks absolutely awful. Terrible, terrible idea to mess around with it.
  9. This forum sucks. Looks dreadful.
  10. wow. thank you both. i think it might be my 957th chance. but everyone deserves a 957th chance. i work as a teacher and one experienced teacher gave me this advice: "always give your students a second chance. and a third chance. and a fourth chance. because by the third they wont take it anyway."
  11. So anyway, I have been a really really good boy of late and managed to get my infraction points down from a peak of 12 to 3 currently. so listen, mods, please please can i be back on the main board? I have been banned for ages and its not even in the rules to ban people from the main board. i have learnt my lesson. new season, new start?
  12. I used to be a shoe-in on most people's 'hate' lists I have been away too long
  13. Right, he did. You want quotes, Stanley? He actually started off a thread entitled "What would Britain be like if the Nazi's had won the war?" After offering lots of opinions on how Britain would be different under the Nazi's, he ended his opening post on this thread with the words: "So what does everyone else think about Britain under the Nazis? I think it would have been better."
  14. learn something new every week
  15. I bet you anything he quits within three months, probably less.
  16. well i would argue that i dont know what the hell you are talking about
  17. Ummm... doesn't this post contradict your first one almost entirely?
  18. Turns out that SRS was wrong. The BNP and UKIP did not make any headway in this election. The BNP and UKIP combined won a total of zero seats. The fascist dream dies. Oh well. There is always 2015. (Though even the tree-hugging Greens won a seat)
  19. i challenge anyone not to spit at nick griffin if they saw him
  20. Can I have one?
  21. they should have played beach volleyball then i could have got all horny at the thought of such a thing (have anyway)
  22. Or, thirdly, do whatever you want with it. It is your vote, after all. I can exercise my right to spoil it if I want. I never have, but then again, I never vote either.
  23. thanks for tidying up my post. so so grateful.
