I have a friend who went there the year before last. He said he was on the beach and picked up a weird crab shell, which he put in his pocket. When he got it out later and put it on the table whilst him and his girlfriend were having dinner the waiter who was serving them absolutely freaked out and started shouting 'no! no!' in broken English and waving his hands about. Him and his girlfriend didn't know what was up until they noticed that the waiter had three fingers on his left hand missing. At that point the crab-thing came out of the shell and skuttled off out of the terrace and disappeared into the street. Apparently it had huge, gnarley teeth and its venom, when secreted, is powerful enough to kill a horse in just a few seconds. Loads and loads of people have been injured or killed by them every year, but it happens so often that it hardly even gets reported.

Apologies are a waste of time. Certain apologies, like Mel Gibson for his anti-Jew tirade, or when Boris Johnson apologised to Liverpool, were so so stupid because they were apologising for things you know they did on purpose and would do again. You cant apologise for something you did on purpose. Simple as that.

I would never be afraid of where i live, and go wherever i want any time day and night and without fear. the people, of all races, are friendly. i live in stoke and it is a wonderfully multi-cultural place most of the time. there were about 1000-2000 stoke city thugs on the streets yesterday looking for a fight. they dont care about politics or anything else. they are just racists who like fighting. stoke has problems with racism but 99% of the time hanley is actually very calm and quiet. it is actually almost dead every evening except fridays and saturdays. quite boring really.
