You're joking, I haven't seen a better introduction to a game since Lee came on (home to? can't remember) and ran faster than Forest Gump or should I say teleported. I thought Ramirez was outstanding in the way he commanded the pitch, we were being battered by the way, so to look good in that game is a winner in my books.

To be fair though, I could have analysed that defensive performance. Didn't take a rocket scientist. But it was a true analysis.

Strange tactics I thought, Lambert totally isolated and easily controlled by Mertasaker. Lallana and Puncheon not tracking back and giving away too much possession. Therefore as they stayed wide we were very light in the middle and Arsenal swamped us and moved the ball wide quickly. Surely we should have packed the middle a bit more and closed them down? Although Ramirez looked great and the Yoshida/Fonte partnership promising.

Good post. I liked the fact that we wanted to keep possession but we do need players who can do something with the ball. Glen Johnson was my motm, a right back! We have achieved premiership status ahead of plan and were we to be relegated (which isn't so bad imo) we would be in a strong position to bounce straight back, with the parachute payments, youth players and recalling those on loan. Wouldn't mind being a yoyo club until we were settled.
