  1. What are the chances of the Xbox One deals improving in the 'sales'? Thinking of getting one for the family and not sure whether to wait or nip and get one today so we can play it if we get bored. Happy Xmas!
  2. 100% of Russell Brands are millionaires. There seems to be this notion that only the 'elite' are crap at running the country. I have a suspicion that if you chuck 200 ordinary men into Westminster they'd be equally crap. The truth is whilst Brand has simulated some debate, he is only a mouthpiece for his own ego and really, democracy works. When someone stands up and gets elected with a manifesto that offers change the country will/could change but it isn't going to happen because it's all about the economy stupid.
  3. Not sure if this still applies but we used to have fun at the expense of our manager by changing the words that MS Word auto corrects. He couldn't understand why he couldn't spell his own name. We used to change it every now and again to keep ourselves amused. I think he went mad in the end.
  4. As you haven't said what it is you are planning to do it's only possible to advise very generally. You have to be so dedicated as there will be times that you need to sacrifice all the good things that you like doing and do crap things that you hate doing because if you don't you wont get paid. I was on the road at 5.00am yesterday to try and secure some work, and more importantly a client in London. When I got there there were a few issues with access and it was pretty much a right off as a day. That's not a one off these sort of things happen all the time. That cost's money directly out of my pocket, time I cant bill for and wont get back, now I have to re-arrange, re-schedule my work and suddenly that's the weekend gone, so that I can go back again next week. It's not really the money, it's the time that you have to dedicate that causes all the stress. I know some people who have got it nailed, work regular hours, not weekends and get a good living but I know loads more who like me tonight will be working until late just to get out a quote or finish some piece of work. And, at the end of the day the buck stops with you, you cop the flack when it goes wrong and you have to sort it at your expense. Having said all that, I love it. I'm not rich, but I have a certain level of freedom that I never could achieve if I worked for someone else - if I want to go and watch the kids in the school play, or sports day or go out for lunch usually I can do it, nobody clocks me in or out and I get to make the rules. I would recommend getting a copy of E-Myth (E meaning entrepreneur) by Michael Gerber and reading that before you start if you are serious. It's quite short and fairly readable. Some of it is a bit wishy washy and a bit simple but the principles are sound and would help focus what you what to achieve and how you might approach that. I wish I'd read it before I started. Good luck, it's not for everyone but if you do make the leap, make sure you give it every chance to succeed.

    AIDS

    Are you the vagina?
  6. Let is know when you decide. Thx
  7. I'm not sure I see your point. The match was on TV solely because it was women's football. It's not elite sport. That's why it's patronising. It's not about equality. If it's equality that's wanted, then disregard gender in sport and just have tennis or football not mens and women's tennis or football like they do in motor racing.
  8. How else are you judging its value to the BBC other than its quality?
  9. Its a bit of a joke really. Its just a poor standard of football, I couldn't see any of those on display being able to compete at conference level. Its just patronising.
  10. You can't mock the electorate and expect then to vote for you. More to the point.
  11. you tedious ****.
  12. Ooh, petty point scoring, this is fun.
  13. Ok, how many points did Arsenal (the 4th placed team) need to get 4th?
  14. Nice put down of fatty Merry too. lol
  15. There's no trouble The9. I think that my groupings are reasonable, though, as you say there is an argument for saying that our start is tougher than my theory suggests. However, I'm happy enough that we aren't just some fluke because of some anomaly in the fixture lists. If we carry on as we are, our final position will be determined by the results that we get against the big teams as we seem to be comfortably outperforming the other teams in our mini league.
  16. If you split the league into thirds with the Top 'Big Club' seven Chelsea Man City Arsena Man Utd Liverpool Spurs Everton A not bad, could see them having a run in the cup six group of West Ham Swansea Newcastle Stoke Hull Villa and a whatever bottom 6 of West Brom Sunderland Palace Leicester QPR Burnley We have played 2 from the top group (both away), 5 from the middle group and 3 from the bottom group (all at home), so reckon we've had a fairly middling sort of start. Plenty of tough games to come, but also plenty of games that should be 'easy' (by comparision). What it shows is that we are doing really well and winning games against the sides we would probably see as in our mini league. I thought that last year was our best chance of breaking into the big teams mini league with managerial changes/poor squads but it look like this year gives us a pretty decent chance too. If you exclude the possibility of us winning the league(!) which I think is pretty safe to do, then the next biggest prize is qualification for the champions league, which we have a chance of doing. Imagine getting some of the BIG European sides coming to St Marys!!!! Better than the cup anyday!
  17. We probably come at this from different angles but it's quite often small business owners that put their own financial security on the line to provide jobs for others. We are emerging from some very tough times and when we are seeing real recovery and many small businesses are starting to pick up again to hit them with retrospective holiday payment claims seems a bit OTT to me. In principal the rule seems fair going forward, it can be planned for. It's all a bit turkeys and Christmas if you ask me.
  18. He did ok. As I remember it we ended up in the same position or worse than the position when he joined. Yeah it was a crap team but then so were the other teams around us that he didn't outperform. Also he had the benefit of new manager bounce (TM! ) for a couple of matches. We avoided relegation, bare minimum requirement achieved. As I understand it, we couldn't afford his demands so he moved on. There always seems to be an overly positive spin attached to his tenure as manager and I don't get it. So as I said, I couldn't give a **** about him, I'll not be affected by him being Leicester manager, he's just another manager that's managing an ordinary team. On the other hand, when we avoided relegation and there was a pitch invasion, all the stewards were so concerned about what was happening on the pitch we were able to walk into hospitality unchallenged and got some Tuna vol-o-vents. That day I beat the system. Maybe I Should be more grateful to him?
  19. If you wanted to tell everyone that you'd met him, why didn't you just do that? How much love has he got for the saints then? More than he has for Leicester?
  20. Never got the love in for Pearson. He's a typical journey man manager. I don't think it would have made a difference whether he was given the job or not. Do I like anyone? Yes I do.
  21. **** Pearson. No love for him, should win this at a canter. Saints to win by 3 or 4
  22. Go on then, find us a couple of quotes from people that said the competition was beneath us. I think what actually happened was that there was a (over)reaction among some vocal fans on here that expressed an opinion that there were massive changes to the team and the club didn't take it the cup seriously and they were quite upset about it. In reality, I think when you actually looked at it there were about 3 unforced changes to the team from the previous match, and but for a pretty awful miss late in the game (Lambert?) we would have got a draw. Anyone that then said they would prioritise the league were accused of belittling the cup, blah, blah blah. Today, Targett, Gardos, Wanyama come in and we win. It's not so different to what happened against Sunderland is it? I hope it's our year, I hope we win every game we play. I enjoy that. I take very little enjoyment from childish playground one upmanship
  23. The obvious position that needs strengthening is keeper. After that we are in the luxurious position of not being particularly weak in any position. IF we can keep all of the current squad, then I think the best we can hope for is that we are able to pick up someone that will slot into our first team whatever position that may be - someone better than JWP/Davis/Cork maybe?, which when you think about it it will need to be a pretty good player. Same again in the summer, keep hold of all the good players and try to improve a couple of positions - continually improving. Good position to be in really.
  24. Nice bit of lazy generalisation. Go team Brand!
  25. Whooaaa there Oatcakes, Don't let this looney ruin it for everyone. I think you'll find that the majority of us, quite rightly, think that we are comfortably in 3rd a quarter of the way through the season on merit and wouldn't be surprised to see us there in May. Have you seen us play? We're frick'in awesome. I don't think that your knuckle dragging manager and his knuckle dragging team stand a chance on Saturday, and if you were honest with yourselves you probably don't either. I mean, really, come on. We're minted And keep popping out the sprogs from The Academy which will see us looking down on the likes of Stoke, Burnley and Crystal Palace for years to come. Our time is here, it's happening. Look at us. Oh, and don't get excited about that 40 yard screamer that knob chops mentioned above, you wont get with in 40 yards to get a shot, we wont let you have that much space. So enjoy your day out but try not to leave a mess.
