  2. 15 points, 14 games, back to over a point a game
  3. Back to 12 points/13 games.....are they coming for us?
  4. Could be a good match. Nothing to fear, we are top of the league for a reason, with an incredible run of form at home. Might be a great night for us, if we win and Middlesbrough and Derby having games where they could drop points we could find ourselves 4 -5 points clear with a 1/4 of the season gone. Of course, it could all go tits up.

Thanks for the link, I voted for Graham Dowdall. There's a lot of good work going on out there.
  6. Sorry Derry, couldn't disagree more! It's banter, it's what goes on, everywhere. It's part of the fun of being a football fan, sometimes you gloat, sometimes you are gloated at(?). I think it's possible to take thing too seriously you know.
  7. Ok, I'll try this again, today we are 48 points, 2 Leagues above pompey. Let's see how we progress. With thanks to Jimmy_D, who posted this on the thread that was merged :
  8. todays inaugural post on the "points above Pompey" thread is brought to you by the number 13
  9. Hi, I hope this isn't against the rules. I run a joinery company and we have become really busy and are now having to turn away work - which is something that I don't like having to do. So what better way to try and recruit somebody than through Saintsweb?? At the moment, I am looking for someone to help me out up until, probably, Christmas. Depending on how the order book is looking going forward we will make a decision as to whether we want to take someone on longer term. This is probably not the opportunity to leave a stable job for, if you have lots of dependents and a big mortgage. Most of the work is furniture rather than architectural joinery, so we need someone with that kind of experience. I'd consider anyone from an improver, to someone who is approaching retirement - it's all about attitude and being on the joinery bus! PM me if you want more detail.
  10. That's an excellent point, thanks. Maybe we should all take a moment to reflect how our lives might be different had we made different choices in life? Anyway, I'm off to go and break the law a little bit and expect to get away with it. Laters.
  11. mods should delete this thread, more people caught breaking the law the better.

  13. Has his dad actually said this? If so I guess that it's probably a done deal.
  14. To be honest, I'm in no rush to get back to the Prem. Given that I dont think that we will ever win the Prem in it's current guise and theres no reason to believe it will change, the NPC might be the biggest trophy that we can realistically win. I would love to see us win it.
  15. I meant that there are two acceptable outcomes for me next year, either go up as champions or not go up at all, I don't mind if we finish 15th. I've never seen the Saints win the league, if we go up via another means, with our setup, we could have another prolonged stay in the Prem with no realistic chance of winning the league. The sooner the better as far as I'm concerned, but if it's in 2 years then so be it.
  16. I want Saints to win the league. I don't want to go up as runners up, or through the play offs, I want that "we've just won the league" realisation moment. Assuming the long term plan is achieved and we are a top half of the prem table team for years to come this could be the last chance that we have to actually WIN the league. We could spend another 27 years of not winning the league in the prem as I can't ever seeing us breaking into the top teams. So it's champions or nothing for me. As for the others, Leeds, 'Borough and maybe Reading could be strong. I don't see the relegated teams doing well, or for that matter Brighton or Hudds/Posh.
  17. The mind is an incredible thing and is probably responsible for about 99% of paranormal activity, the remaining 1% are probably tricks by friends who laugh every time it gets mentioned.
  18. Why don't you review the information at hand and then form a new opinion rather than doggedly defend an opinion that was made before the guy was even given a chance? To say that Mother Theresa could of got this squad promoted from the position it was in when Adkins took over is quite simply unfair. Adkins has done a terrific job. I can excuse him a bit of spin and hyperbole if he gets results. Even if he doesn't get us into the top half of the league next year I fully expect him to be hanging around for the long term. I think we'll do well though and wouldn't be surprised if we are still in with a shout of promotion next Easter. If we get relegated, that's a different story - I'll be getting my pitch fork out and joining the mob! Everything about the club is a positive as it ever has been - great news - COYS!
  19. i read it as a comment directed at Terry the builder
  20. Sorry, I was referring to the second part of your statement.
  21. I can assure you that you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.
  22. I have never understood the fascination with Pearson. For a different set of results on the last day he would have been crucified, well a little bit anyway.
  23. Great result, almost there now. Can anyone tell me if Brighton played a full strength side today?
  24. Fair enough, they were pretty good back then. I'd still like to have been to a cup final where we made a bit of a fight of it. I didn't think that we could win after about the first 5 mins - it was all a bit of a let down really. It was a great day out, apart from the football.
  25. I'm 37 years old, and I dont think the future has ever looked so good for Saints. So I'm going to chose something that wont of had an affect on where we are today and tell Strachan to really go for it in the Cup final. I'd love to have seen us win.
