*sits back, feet on the desk, looks to the sky and reminisces of good times gone*

I personally think it's a dramatic and exciting way of separating two teams after 120 minutes. Fantastic when you win, heartbreaking when you lose. I wouldn't change it.
-
It's just the Barcelona way, but better.
-
Blackpool for me. West Ham's billy big b0ll0x attitude all year has been laughable, and I'd really look forward to seeing it again next year. What topped it off for me was the interview with Gary O'Neil after the game against Hull (which they won 2-1). "We heard Southampton were 4-0 up, so we took our foot off the gas". Yes Gary, as otherwise, you'd have scored as many goals as you'd wanted.

I was wondering how long before a Michael Owen thread started on here...... It won't happen.

Great day out. Even though we got battered the whole game, I'll always remember the whole of the Saints end applauding the team off the pitch. Tear in my eye, I must say.
-
We're not officially Premiership for me until I have to search for our club news in the "Premier League" section of the football section of the BBC sports web page.
-
I really don't give a sh1t. Just want to see some proper last day drama!
-
lol. Why would Alex Pearce know, and this be the first anyone has heard this rumour?
-
Completely agree with this. In fairness, during the "wilderness years", it'd be hard to pick our "worst" keeper, purely because I don't think we've had any absolute muppets in between the sticks at any stage (bar Bart and his howler against Blackpool - but that hardly makes him the worst either).
-
Ryan Smith in the starting XI AND on the bench. Interesting. He was pretty dire in fairness (although annoyingly did look like he could be brilliant - frustrating)

What choo talkin' 'bout girlfriend? Ah ha, mmm hmmm *clicks fingers above head and struts towards the door*
-
Cllearly they do. However, you can't properly see a player's potential, and how good they are, until they play against higher level opposition to see how they fare.
-
from all accounts, Luke Shaw is a prodigy. I suspect we've deliberately not played him yet to ensure he signs this 3-year deal in July before any of the "big boys" come calling after seeing him play.

One of the most overrated keepers of recent times. If you look at various football stat sites, he was regularly the premiership keeper with the largest amount of fumbles. Now don't get me wrong, I love Kelvin to bits, but I always find myself being on the verge of sh1tt1ing myself every time a cross comes in, or the ball gets passed back to him for a hoof upfield. God knows what I'd be like with Green between the sticks.

I reckon it's just a scary coincidence and they've all booked holidays to Vegas. What are the chances?
-
All Premiership players are c**ts.
-
He stands at only 6'3, Rickie, Rickie, He'll take us to the Premier League, Rickie! Rickie! ....... Ok, now he's done this, just what the hell do we sing next season in respect of our talismanic striker?
-
You said it doesn't have an equivalent in English, and then stated it's definition. In English.
-
This poll seems a bit silly - Lambert's been voted the best player in the championship this season - as we're a subset of the championship, surely he should automatically win Southampton player of the year? Reflects in the voting I guess

100% take it tonight. If West Ham don't win, we're up. Further, we'll still have deserved it, as we'll have ended up with more points than them. Plus I can't make the coventry game, which means if West Ham do win I'll be glued to t'internet on my phone, making me very anti social at a good mate's stag do....
-
I'll be watching the game! Leicester vs West Ham that is
-
This chant does make me cringe. I actually think it would be funnier if P*mpey stayed up. Can you imagine the shambles next season when they're still paying £36,000 a week to Tal Ben Haim? lol
