  1. In all fairness to the OP he did say he is not suggesting other people do it. OP, if you don't want to go to games that's fine, but STFU!!!! It's pathetic that you can't let the reasons for the sacking drop, we have a new manager now and he needs our support now.
  2. I think Bristol Rovers was the turning point of our season so far, we finally click under Pardew and he get's sacked, Cortese's biggest problem was not letting him have the next game. If we had struggled to draw or lost THEN sack him! Maybe the players feel that no matter what they do the man upstairs aint gonna be happy?
  3. Dalek, you sound the a horrific broken record, I feel like Stewie in Family Guy when Peter gets the record of "Bird is the Word" On a good note I'm really looking forward to MK Dons and hopefully get at least a point, recent results would suggest that we will, 3-0, 2-0, 1-0 so now it's time for 0-0 and then we can start winning! I can but dream can I not? lol
  4. U sure it aint Wupert in the position now?
  5. How many Man Utd fans we're singing the praises when Alex Ferguson was appointed? EXACTLY the same situation, came from Aberdeen where his job was safe and walked into Old Trafford with all the pressure of the fans on him and now look at him. He's probably THE most loyal manager in the game today, numerous positions have been offered to him over the years and he has turned them all down flat. Not many Arsenal fans we're overly delighted about Arsene Wenger when he first went and despite not winning anything for a few seasons they are still sticking with him. Personally I'm excited about Adkins, I see something Fergie-esk about him! The will to succeed with the motivation to make a name for himself AND the loyalty he has shown to Scunny makes him a great appointment for me. I won't stick my neck out and say he WILL be the best thing to happen to this club in a long time but I will say that I think he could well be. By that I mean seeing out his 1st contract (the 3 years that was signed yesterday) anything more will be a massive bonus as that's something every manager I have seen in recent years has been unable to do due to either incompetency from the chairmen or clubs/nations poaching them from us!
  6. IIRC his wife was ill, the dreaded C word I think but he decided to step down to help her through it
  7. It's quite simple really, as LTC stated, we need a MANAGER. Unless you have forgotten the fundamental needs for football then I would've thought you could've figured that one out without the need of reading the OP or my reply.
  8. Adkins has stated he wants to be in place here by Monday morning or will be staying at Iron, which chairman is that likely to please? I feel Scvnthorpe will be loving this, they just need to hold out for 1 more day for a stupid amount of compo and they've done exactly what they wanted! On a side note the title of this thread is starting to become 1 hell of a read before you even start reading the thread itself lol
  9. It's getting stupid now that people seem to be trying to find reasons to have a pop at NC rather than having the reason ready made for them and really have a reason. I really hope that he doesn't read these forums 'cos of he does he will no doubt be thinking that he made a massive mistake in talking ML into taking us over!!!
  10. In all fairness this most probably would've been resolved yesterday had Scunny chairman kept his mouth shut! Some people in football, mainly chairmen I do feel could do with taking a leaf out of NC's book and keep shtum 'till things have been sorted.
  11. I still feel we got a chance of automatic promotion although I do think the title is pushing it! Someone is going to run away with the title again so 2nd place at best for me although realistically I'll say play-offs
  12. Lallana came through the Saints ranks I thought, just went on loan to Bournemouth
  13. I can't say I'm overwhelmed by this but it is a sensible, clever appointment on behalf of NC. Sacking AP for NA I'm not sure is a great move but as has been said a few times if he gains us promotion all will be forgotten! We could have done better with the appointment but (and that is a massive but) we could of done ALOT worse. Paul Hart is just 1 name that springs to mind on how much worse we could've done. MoN would have been a fantastic appointment but it seems the powers that be have decided his ego is far to much for this club plus a friend told me the other day that his hissy fits when things don't go his way are worse than Anne Robinson's stare in The Weakest Link. I for 1 wouldn't have liked that as we all know it would've been a ticking time bomb with how NC seems to be running the club. Overall good appointment IMO and pleased with it
  14. I don't think people should give NC the proverbial as has been suggested, just wait until the new manager is in place, see what happens by the end of the season and make the decisions from there
  15. As has been said a couple of times. MLT has earnt the right to say whatever the hell he likes about the club, no matter whether it's the players or owners! His service to us will unlikely ever be repeated again in a Saints shirt. Cortese is just some jumped up businessman who quite blatantly doesn't care about the club as much as he says he does. Maybe if we put some ginger hair on him Wupert may be back!!!!
  16. This is great news on all fronts! As the Daily Echo pointed out, had he of waited a little longer he would've been offered a "higher profile" job (for once the Daily Echo hit the nail square on the head) but maybe ML and AP feel they have the same passion and vision for this club. AP has already proven his credentials at this level and further up, we we're never going to get a Premiership Manager coming down to this level and I always thought it would be a guy previously without a job but I must admit, this is better than I thought we we're going to get! The ability to get his players to play better than they should is maybe 1 think ML liked about him as he no doubt would've known about West Ham's Cup Final appearance before AP came in for interviewing. Of course there will be some people who won't be happy with this appointment but that's football, nothing ML will do is going to make everyone happy again, the only thing he could do which will make all Saints fans happy is the 1 thing he has done, save this great club, no other decision he will make will get 100% of Saints fans happy again, not everyone was happy with MW being sacked and as I said not everyone will be happy with AP being appointed but never mind! The main thing I think we need to do is give him till the end of the Jan transfer window before criticising him if he gets off to that much of a bad start, 2-3 weeks to prepare a team for the season aint very long at all! The absolute minimum I would expect from us this season now would be 10 points from play-off spot, obviously if we do nick a play-off spot that would be fantastic, Leeds managed it with -15 so what's stopping us but if it doesn't happen it doesn't matter, start next season on level pegging and get the title lol Delighted with the appointment so all that's left to say is..... ALAN PARDEW's RED AND WHITE ARMY!!!!!!! COYR!!!!!!!

  18. The only thing I found a actually liked about TA was when MOTD2 took the **** out of him early last season for his dancing techniques on the touch line and put the Strictly Come Dancing music to it!!! Either WGS or Coppel personally
  19. Whether we get Kaka or not it promises to be exciting times ahead! As long as we don't get the Kak that Nadia Sllim mentioned earlier I will be happy, Theo and Bale back at SMS would be great personally but I think we may need to get into Europe before they would consider us so 6/7 years yet, get them just as they start entering their prime
  20. Juan Pablo Angel from New York Red Bulls, the ex Aston Villa striker! Would do a fantastic job in this league for us and still got a couple of years in him I think, can't be much older than 30/31. Baird I would welcome back, Bennett I aint too sure on, JPS would be a great signing after the job he did for us last season! For a LB I'd like to see Insua from Liverpool on loan, would do a fantastic job for us!
  21. Absolutely brilliant, quite a decent conversation going on and someone pops up with this! Made me lmao twice over, just as I got over it I read it again and creased up lol I wouldn't think Lowe would pass the "Fit and Proper" test the FA do or what ever it is they call it but how nice would it be to have him in charge at Krap Nottarf
  22. Sorry guys, I meant BACS, all this talk of money is confusing me! lol
  23. CHAPS transfers take a maximum of 6-7 hours I think due to having had one in the past few days after my company completely forgot to pay me! I phoned them at 9am and had the money in my account by about half 2pm
  24. To be quite honest I'm not sure if I want Wotte to stay after the "Egypt U Turn" He obviously aint got his heart completely at Saints to have booked the flight to Egypt in the 1st place, he knows what to say most of the time but saying he had the flight booked and was going to get on it 'till Pinnacle backed out is as close to 2 fingers as he could give us. Who cares who is running the club as long as the club is still around come 8th Aug!!! Wotte needs to leave sooner rather than later personally and I can't wait till the day he does, get an experienced manager in who knows the league and knows the English way of playing, fancy cr@p aint gonna work in this division so with the Dutch way of playing we are staring down the barrel of relegation again.
