In all fairness to the OP he did say he is not suggesting other people do it. OP, if you don't want to go to games that's fine, but STFU!!!! It's pathetic that you can't let the reasons for the sacking drop, we have a new manager now and he needs our support now.
-
Time to accept that it is unlikely we will go up

I think Bristol Rovers was the turning point of our season so far, we finally click under Pardew and he get's sacked, Cortese's biggest problem was not letting him have the next game. If we had struggled to draw or lost THEN sack him! Maybe the players feel that no matter what they do the man upstairs aint gonna be happy? -
Dalek, you sound the a horrific broken record, I feel like Stewie in Family Guy when Peter gets the record of "Bird is the Word" On a good note I'm really looking forward to MK Dons and hopefully get at least a point, recent results would suggest that we will, 3-0, 2-0, 1-0 so now it's time for 0-0 and then we can start winning! I can but dream can I not? lol

U sure it aint Wupert in the position now?

How many Man Utd fans we're singing the praises when Alex Ferguson was appointed? EXACTLY the same situation, came from Aberdeen where his job was safe and walked into Old Trafford with all the pressure of the fans on him and now look at him. He's probably THE most loyal manager in the game today, numerous positions have been offered to him over the years and he has turned them all down flat. Not many Arsenal fans we're overly delighted about Arsene Wenger when he first went and despite not winning anything for a few seasons they are still sticking with him. Personally I'm excited about Adkins, I see something Fergie-esk about him! The will to succeed with the motivation to make a name for himself AND the loyalty he has shown to Scunny makes him a great appointment for me. I won't stick my neck out and say he WILL be the best thing to happen to this club in a long time but I will say that I think he could well be. By that I mean seeing out his 1st contract (the 3 years that was signed yesterday) anything more will be a massive bonus as that's something every manager I have seen in recent years has been unable to do due to either incompetency from the chairmen or clubs/nations poaching them from us!

IIRC his wife was ill, the dreaded C word I think but he decided to step down to help her through it
-
It's quite simple really, as LTC stated, we need a MANAGER. Unless you have forgotten the fundamental needs for football then I would've thought you could've figured that one out without the need of reading the OP or my reply.
-
Adkins has stated he wants to be in place here by Monday morning or will be staying at Iron, which chairman is that likely to please? I feel Scvnthorpe will be loving this, they just need to hold out for 1 more day for a stupid amount of compo and they've done exactly what they wanted! On a side note the title of this thread is starting to become 1 hell of a read before you even start reading the thread itself lol

It's getting stupid now that people seem to be trying to find reasons to have a pop at NC rather than having the reason ready made for them and really have a reason. I really hope that he doesn't read these forums 'cos of he does he will no doubt be thinking that he made a massive mistake in talking ML into taking us over!!!
-
In all fairness this most probably would've been resolved yesterday had Scunny chairman kept his mouth shut! Some people in football, mainly chairmen I do feel could do with taking a leaf out of NC's book and keep shtum 'till things have been sorted.

Have you changed your mind about this season?
huggleman replied to doddisalegend's topic in The Saints
I still feel we got a chance of automatic promotion although I do think the title is pushing it! Someone is going to run away with the title again so 2nd place at best for me although realistically I'll say play-offs -
Lallana came through the Saints ranks I thought, just went on loan to Bournemouth
-
I can't say I'm overwhelmed by this but it is a sensible, clever appointment on behalf of NC. Sacking AP for NA I'm not sure is a great move but as has been said a few times if he gains us promotion all will be forgotten! We could have done better with the appointment but (and that is a massive but) we could of done ALOT worse. Paul Hart is just 1 name that springs to mind on how much worse we could've done. MoN would have been a fantastic appointment but it seems the powers that be have decided his ego is far to much for this club plus a friend told me the other day that his hissy fits when things don't go his way are worse than Anne Robinson's stare in The Weakest Link. I for 1 wouldn't have liked that as we all know it would've been a ticking time bomb with how NC seems to be running the club. Overall good appointment IMO and pleased with it
-
I don't think people should give NC the proverbial as has been suggested, just wait until the new manager is in place, see what happens by the end of the season and make the decisions from there

As has been said a couple of times. MLT has earnt the right to say whatever the hell he likes about the club, no matter whether it's the players or owners! His service to us will unlikely ever be repeated again in a Saints shirt. Cortese is just some jumped up businessman who quite blatantly doesn't care about the club as much as he says he does. Maybe if we put some ginger hair on him Wupert may be back!!!!
