My biggest gripe with Redmond is that he never really commits to winning/receiving the ball- too often dangling out a weak leg in hope. He made one tackle today where he really went for it. Not sure Djenepo offers much more going forwards, he also is far too negative in possession. I think Tella should earn that position next season and keep Ings/adams up top.

Massively agree with this. We’re just so unbalanced without kwp. Him back, diallo in cm with jwp, Armstrong & minamino/tella and we’ve got a team again. Redmond and Salisu can disappear.

Better

Yes every team has injuries but we’ve been so unlucky with ours. At the start of the season the team picked itself, was well drilled and knew exactly what it was doing. Perhaps if anything can be levelled at the coaching is that it was too focussed on that 11, their presses and movements etc, and the constant changes just hasn’t allowed a new settled pattern to emerge. Adams isn’t the heap of shit everyone thinks he is, Ings had fucking covid- he’s very likely still post-covid (as Armstrong was and has only just rediscovered his energy). A new manager would not get more out of this shattered bunch.

Has undoubted ability, and perhaps this is somewhat RH tactics, but he sometimes seems hesitant to carry the ball forward. Was especially noticeable on Friday but he's been like that before. Tends to reserve his best dribbles for around the box rather than carrying it forwards from further out?
