  1. Out of interest, how many players have been brought in for a fee since that day, and how much has been the total outlay ?
  2. damn no edit function !
  3. I wrote that article 10 months ago, and on reflection, i still stand by it. I think the reason we were / still are so bitter and disappointed was not the fact that he failed, but the manner in which he did so, and alienating everyone in the process, which is staggering because we really rollewd out the red carpet for him when he arrived. Anyway, its in the past night, and i'm sure he won't screw up with you quite as spectacularly as he did with us.
  4. Don't want to turn this into a Charlton debate, but do want to point out that yes a few of the better players were naturally sold, but he still had the bulk of a premiership squad, and given around £14m to replace those who had to go, a budget any other Championship club would have given their right arm for. We also had the 2nd highest wage bill in the Championship, yet still finished 13th and then bottom. He screwed it up hugely with us, and financially our club is still having to pay every week for players that will never even see our first team.
  5. Do me a favour chaps, can't you restrict your idiots to your own village ? Please ??? :-)
  6. Dean, i think you're plonker is being pulled with Christensen. He was signed by Pardew in 2007, is on £7k a week, and has played for us a grand total of zero times
  7. paid ? Let me know who you paid as i run the (free) site you have been posting on !!
  8. He was a centre mid, liked to push on and chipped in with a decent return for us. Certainly much preferred at the Valley as a player than as a manager !

    Charlton Fans

As a Charlton fan, i've never had a real issue with Southampton at all. The Maze Hill thing and the incident that preceded that were isolated, and restricted to just a small few that go for that sort of thing. However, there have been a couple of incidents in recent years that have really upset those that have witnessed them or been caught up, because it has involved people who are not like-minded. Your yoof lot kicked it off quite badly in our Liberal Club, which is a family working mans club a year ago, and quite a lot of non-trouble people got caught up in that, and last season at St Mary's your idiots decided it was fun to scare all the kids on the family coaches, throwing bottles etc. The season before at St Mary's (when we got the late winner) my wife and i walked into a group of about 50 of yours just as they were coming out the bushes by the park entrance all with bottles, so someone was going to get a good ambush behind us. As an outsider, you appear to have a growing band of idiots that are starting to give a decent club a bad name. I always thought it was Pompey on the coast with the idiots, you seem to be getting a few now (and no doubt they will be proud to read that).
  10. Dowie was only manager for about 12 games. He pushed us against the ropes, Pardew then repeatedly smashed us in the stomach. Unfortunately our board gave him full backing because we all had faith in him. We had two left wingers on loan at the same time (Scott Sinclair and Lee Cook, both on around £10k a week), and he chose not to play them and stick with the player we already had. We had new loans coming and going on a daily basis, so many some of them couldn't make the squad. He spent £5.5m on Luke Varney, McLeod and Andy Gray, all not wirth a transfer fee within two years. He said Luke Varney had more ability than Tevez, your players won't see anything less than 5-star hotels, pre-match meals will now be at the De Vere in the Harbour, i could go on all day. As i said, perhaps we were just unlucky.
  11. Good luck to you. He will go one of two ways for you. We were all ecstatic when we announced we had Pardew at Charlton. We looked at his record and thought if anything, we had landed a coup. Sadly for us, we landed a ****. If providing balance, it is worth noting we were a club on the slide when he took over. However, the club Pardew left is one that is virtually destroyed. He is arguably the most arrogant man in football, and i cannot think of one single thing he did that was good for our club. We still have players, 2 years on, who are on £7k a week and have never once sat on the first team bench. Whoever deals with periphery expenses is also in for a very busy time. Perhaps we were just desperately unlucky. Anyhow, if you want some Charlton feedback, this link is a good starting point. http://www.charltonlife.com/forum/comments.php?DiscussionID=27435
