Charlton 0 Saints B 0 - Charlton Win Extra Point On Penalties
brmbrm replied to spyinthesky's topic in The Saints
Well I think that is funny -
One thing I like is the quality players we are bringing in who are young: hopefully young, hungry, we can bring them on, keep them as long as we can

ADAM LALLANA: "I didn't want to be Southampton captain"
brmbrm replied to rickylambert's topic in The Saints
I subscribe to the c u nt theory. typical journo total crap: i especially liked "Spurs missed out on the Premier League to Leicester after drawing 2-2 with Chelsea" No they were third and 11 points behind Leicester. Thats like saying "Villa missed out on the Premier League to leicester after losing x-y to god-knows who in janary" Sycophantic ar$e holes -
But its on page 6 so it MUST be true and that is proven again because Fonte hasn't sigened a new contract so therefore it MUST be true. He's off. sarcarsm as well now.

This is a bizarre thread. The idea is that standing could be OPTIONAL and not COMPULSORY. You want to sit, then sit. You want to stay home do the gardening, do it. You want to stand, then you can. As for whether there is more money to be made from seating or standing punters then surely leave that up to the clubs to figure out? Me: I enjoyed standing years ago, now when I go I have a seat but stand most of the time, mainly because the people in front stand. Plus its more enjoyable. So if the standers go in the standing section then us old farts can choose whether to sit or stand. Its not like this is a binding referendum on everyone....

How do we create an environment where players want to stay?
brmbrm replied to eddie's topic in The Saints
Correct. Win the Eurosupercup a few years in a row and we will be able to draw in all those players from ManU, Chelsae etc, maybe even Pogba for $150M or so. (That was one of the attractions of division 3: none of this nonsense) -
So easy to be a legend these days. Surely wait until playing days are over? I would have thought the banner should be for less than one tenth of a percent of the playing squads. Not saying fonte is not deserving, but relaly, lets let "legends" be somewhat "legendary"

Farks sake: 1 had 1 year to run when we would say "bye bye". Another gave another year and is now off. the third is old and off to China for the money. People choose what they want to do - it is after all a free market. You cannot compel people to work for you in the same way tht they cannot compel you to employ them. A squad of 30-odd, working life of 12 years, means 2-3 out is just natural attrition. Not blaming you n particular, but people seem to assume we can compel people to work for SFC when that is just not the way the world works. Plus also ignore that argument when we sign players. God - we would be well furked if the firum had to run the club

Southgate! Surely - if its good enough for england its good enough for saints. (facepalm, palmface, never know which. Southgate....)

Nathan Redmond Joins on 5 Year Deal - Official
brmbrm replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
I guess you voted Leave? Isn't there a contradiction: norwich relegated so he must be crap; in England U21 so he will be sold on to a big club in a couple of years. Just saying -
I'm in NZ, so for me it was the twilight hour between one and the other
-
Jeez! Its a sign i tell you. Stigmata or what! A bit of constipation i had, it was a real effort, a bit painful. It was "poo-hell" God works in mysterious ways, but the message is clear

Ha ha ha. Lol out loud and Rofl on the floor etc. he is a good player, a great prospect and young. What on earth do some people expect? -
I liked those slave trade days. Nice to see them back again. "Kick that ball!". "Rather not". "Kick it" . "Ok massa, please don' hit me no more" Hang on, has wanyama actually gone or can we still drag him back?
-
No. i think you will find that people generally are free to do what they want at the end of a contract. Footballers are people. Mostly.
-
Not Pellegrini: http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/36612539 which implies someone is nearly signed up, I reckon, otherwise Pellegrini would clearly be better than many other options
-
Ugh? You not noticed what has happened the last few years or something? The consistent thing includes Les Reed
-
Very wrong. Liked the post very much. Made me laugh. Most posts just bore me $h!tless I am afraid

Oh. I don't think that would be a step in the right direction. For FFS sake.

Here my feelings are a bit mixed.... Son-in-law is a Liverpool supporter, and born there, plus knows who both his parents are (which puts him in a very elite group I am led to believe). On the other hand is everything else. Made worse by said son-in-law posting on Bookcase at half-time: ""Sir Daniel of Sturridge. Knight him now!". My slow, gentle, measured revenge at full-time..... ohhh yeahhhh.....
