  1. ??? Right timing for the Saturday morning papers. Right timing for breakfast TV in Shanghai. Honestly, some people on here. Glad you have no decision making authority over anything. (Except, it seems, brexit for FFS sake...)
  2. OK, so far we have "keep Gabbi, Austin and Long". easy business. Carillo: not sure whether he was a sop to the fans or to pellegrino, but has shown nothing unfortunately. I trust MH's judgement on this. Or whoever the manager is next season
  3. Oh FFS: "Get 'im in" does not mean then that " 'im wants to work 'ere". Same with contract extensions: people are (within contractual obligations) free agents.
  4. I think you have a fair point. Easy for armchair warriors, with the benefit of hindsight and a few bevvies, to be pitch-perfect. The fact is that life is full of uncertianties. Plus anyone employed o we would liek to employ has the right to NOT come to saints, the same way as we all can choose who we want to work for. "Get 'im in" does mean then "'im wants to work 'ere".
  5. Its a 10 goal swing needed, Lawro, not 9. That's forgivable from an ordinary footy bloke, but you are a massively overpaid *** who clearly cannot be ar$ed doing even an hour of background work during the week. Just furcking furck off you furckwit
  6. Agreed. This was more a flirtation with disaster compared to some of the others. Good old days though
  7. Hang on, you can't have it both ways: either you get the replacement lined up before the sack or you sack on (de) merit.
  8. Not the best book review i have ever read, but at least you admit you haven't read it, which is more than some
  9. God i wish i was a saints supporter like you lot dont know how you do it
  10. Has it ever occurred to you, Deano, that people sometimes don't want to do what you want them to do? In this particular case, how can we "bring back Cortese" - kidnap him? Same with managers and players - they do have some sort of say into what job they want and where they want to work.
  11. Don't you just love spell-miscorrection sometimes
  12. SNAP!!!
  13. Not sure this is right though: 7 teams have scored less than us, 8 have let in more goals. 5 have scored fewer than us AND let in more goals, while 5 have a worse goal difference. Too may draws, not enough wins, not trying to win, just not to lose, and not doing that very well either
  14. Not so: disinterested and uninterested have a fluid history (https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/disinterested). Note the last paragraph: "Still, use of the "not interested" and "no longer interested" senses of disinterested will incur the disapproval of some who may not fully appreciate the history of this word or the subtleties of its present use.". I suspect most on here are uninterested in that history though
  15. ....and....... relax.........
  16. If he is not sacked then at least put him on gardening leave and get someone else in. Anyone. Just someone to give it all a fu cking good stir up and kick some ar$es.
  17. Quite sure? really? Quite sure? If so, then no doubt you would take a bet at pretty good odds, given that you are betting on a certianty. Yes? Maybe 100-1? No I am feeling generous - 50-1. Yes? Taker? I lodge maybe 100 quid and you 5k? No? Thought not. Wind up wa_nker.
  18. Quite. The fact that if he is crocked he doesn't play - you can play someone else. Maybe you need 3 Austins in the squad and hope at least one is able to play
  19. Yes, a poll, but add the option "sack and replace with someone who will shake things up, win our remaining games including the FA Cup". I'd vote for that.
  20. Or maybe the other way round. i am sure sacking the manager would require approval from the board, and i am sure gao has some input in this.
  21. I think it all shows hat here could be a pretty exciting run-in this year, makes a change. Not at the top of course (boring) but 3 of the bottom 10 (11? 12? Everton? Hahahaha!!!) I would just like 4 straightforward wins in March, 12 points and safety.....
  22. I think he means we are in the relegation zone zone. A win next week and we are in the relegation zone zone zone

    Les Reed

So this is basically "Ah, yeah, but if you ignore all the good bits then blah blah blah....". Nice work. You can't do that: you either go for it or you don't, and over the last 5-10 years its been pretty good. Sorry to disappoint (Is this where you normally say "pal" on this forum?)
  24. Strange it allows "arsed" but not "boll-ock-s". Fu ck that then
  25. Its a totally ******** draw for anyone other than the "big 4". It means we have to beat Man City (away) then propbably beat another top 4 team in the semis and yet another in the final. Why dont they get to knock each other out? People say its a fix, but logically this is a possible draw. All it needs is someone with some statistical nous to analyse the past 5-10 years' draws and look at significance. I could do that but can't be arsed.
