  1. Hmmmm. Obviusly got at least C+ in "Journalism 101: how to end a sentence in a full stop" Not so good at "Journalism 102: the difference between a sentence and a paragraph"
  2. No, its the mininum we might need - if you think less than totally negatively WHU might NOT win all their remaining games by enormous margins
  3. On the bright side, we could be all but promoted by 10pm on Tuesday (Wednesday? Can't rememebr when WHU play....)

    Guly

Oh FFS................... yeah, lets blame him for global warming, the poor economy and the fact that Noodles has clearly lost his. Maybe you were the annoying thick retarded teenager sittign behind me. "Guly's ****" was about the only thing he could say. Even said it a few times after Guly came off.

    Guly

Read the post, eh? He wasn't comparing his abilitieds but his lazy-looking style of play. OK, we all know you want a player who is like a headless chicken and runs round all over the place for 90 minutes. Some people don't. Mostly football managers rather than keyboard experts.
  6. Unfortunately there are quite a lot of very thick people in Southampton (just see the education stats for IoW, Soton and poopey - we have more than our share of retards). They also get ******ed and try to impress thier mates by behaving like drunk thick retards. They seem to think its clever, msart and real cool. And so do some of the posters on here - knuckle-dragging sub-morons whi think its really clever to get ****ed and behave like an idiot, and even encourage their little kids to do the same. Total embarrassment to the club and the city. Not5 to mention humankind
  7. What are the loan rules? Can we get him in until the end of the year on loan?
  8. ....and yours are full of $h!T
  9. barring GD miracles, 12 points from 7 games is enough to guarantee promotion, assuming WHU win them all, which they won't.
  10. Wasn't meant to be an attempt at trolling. Actually, i think wages = 93% of income IS a potential problem: its OK if someone is prepared to pur money into the club, but if they change their mnds? Also arenb't there some fifa rules proposed reagrding limiting wages to income?
  11. Interesting to the usual Pavlovian knee-jerk reaction (geddit?) to the use of the words "Nick" and "Illingsworth" consecutivley. I actually read what he wrote: - pargarph 1, statement of what is quite likely true: income up modelstly, wages up too. - paragrpah 2: wages 93% of income is TRULY a worry, and one which wouldn't be allowed under some rules. Its not sustainable as a business, and is someting a lot of clubs have gone thorugh (incldugin SFC). "shows that they are tightening down the small print on the contract" is arguable - there might be other (tax?) benefits of this, plus the ability to trade. But it is in any event arguable. - paras 3 and 4, well, pretty much true: the difference between profligate spenders is their ability to pay the bills at the end of each month. Ours can, poopeys cant. - "i dont think the liebherrs are of the same ilk as Pompeys owners, but that doesnt change the points about overspending," Fair comment. OK, slag him off because he eats children, but at kleast address the points he makes.
  12. No, its not efficient. I spent over an hour on the phone from NZ, so god knows what the bill will look like next month (plus the flights). But i got 4 "slightly restricted view" tickets, so we are on! And yes, the people are always very pleasant - don't envy them the job though: must be some real miserable sods on the other end sometimes.
  13. Woohooo! Got 4, collection on the day only (ugh?). Block 12, row Y. Also got 4 "slightly restricted view" for palace. All after over an hour off and on on the phone from New Zealand - next step the flights, but that should be easy.
  14. If the worst comes to the worst will go sit with the home fans. Any suggestions on the best place for doing that?

    Rickie

To put thing sinto context: "Lambert, their late blooming striker, has scored 24 of their 70 league goals." (my point is that 46 are NOT his - a lot of goals) We are hardly a one-trick act. Ricky has been getting better service and support, and thriving on it. Yes, I think he is prem quality and i really hope we get to prove it next year.
  16. Anyone for option 3? 3. We thrash pompey, go on to be Champions, they get relegated. Hmmm. I like option 3 best. Antone else?
  17. TBH, I like a manager in a suit and tie, not a track-suit. OK OK OK, suits are **** etc, i never wear one (apart from funerals and interviews) but it does give the aura of a man above the normal day-to-day crap, and the manager needs to gove that image. I would rather have NA than any one of these other "good young managers" for the way he portrays himself in public - basically intellectually superior, thoughtful, intelligent, rather than physical and unthinking.
  18. We4ll I am coning in form NZ, got tickets for Reading, will go to Palace even if I sit with the home fans, have not ticjkets for pompey grrrr, but if we can keep our run going then there is a really good chance that if we beat Reading that will be the promotion winning game. Ohh yeah................
  19. WTF at Elland road???? None of that sort of business, guys... grind it out
  20. Saints: 5 points clear on the last day. Reading: they continue their good run West ham third, losing the play-off semi hah hah Brimingahm the third spot. It all came to me in a flash
  21. I'm currently in NZ, and most of the mdeia works along the lines "if it ain't the premiership it ain't football". Yes, i hate that attitude, and have hated it from my non-league supporting days as well. Plus the national papers, rightly or (probably) wrongly, have heaps fof space per prem team compared to the space per CCC team, let alone L1 or L2.
  22. Some other negatives: - totally random kick-off times - fewer games Some other positives: - lots more publicity in papers and on TV etc = lots more saints-related stuff - don't get there = don't get promoted = a season of failure in Championship So maybe get promoted, gete relegated quick then go for promotion again. Hmmm, doesn't really sound right, does it?
  23. Well, good to hear fo course, but WTF is this a bog news day in the Sunday Mirror, unless of course they just want to sell more papers
  24. No, it doesn't scan. I go for "ding dong, ding dong, wheres your club gone" but I think someone got that before. God help me, please don't tell me it was alpine or dell days......
  25. Correct. We would need to spend 1/4 to 1/2 a billion pounds to be competitive. For starters.
