Calm down. A week, no, sorry, 6 days, ago it was great we held our own for so long against the PL champions. OK, now we lose to a Wigan side (who have won 8 of their last 11 PL games i think? OK, correct me if wrong...). You fail to point out that after a few months the extra dosh would enable you buy as many cream tea shops, cars, boats, gates, museum life-time memberships, bicycles, caravans, tents and cuddly anmials as you could wish for. I think we are better than 17th. I would hope for 10-12th, possibly more, possibly less. However, being 18-20 would be a disaster and I do not think i could stand it. Not again, not yet. Please god no. No no no no no. So yes, i would take 17th now, give up on the more likely but less important benefits of being higher, but insuring against the less likely absolute disater of relegation. A bit like house insurance really - a little bit of money chucked away on the off-chance you need protection agaisnt a disaster. But then nobody will offer us 17th, so i am happy to take our chances.

Don't understand this at all. Someone labouring in league 1 for years becomes Championship top scorer and player of the year, and you call that "meeting expectations"? Obviously nodbody oin the last 5 years or more expected it to happen, or some championship club would have bought him.....
