  1. Define replacement please. Then define moron.
  2. Its called half-time
  3. Life doesn't really work like that though. Everyone has his price. I think even you would agree that (ridiculous amount say) £200M (not £40m, which means 40 milli-pounds) would be a lunatic figure to pay, bu when you state that they might come back wth the money or shuffle off mumbling into their beards. "Not for sale" just gets "£30m?" in response.
  4. Just your paranoia. Nobody really notices, honest. There are shed loads of footy clubs that are not the big 4, 5 or 6 or 7. We are one of them. Thats all.
  5. Do you say the same about players leaving clubs to come to Saints? Or managers doing that? Or people n other jobs changing jobs? Its our club so we love it blah blah, but most players and managers dont have much natural emotional attachment to the club, only what they get from working there and being treated well.
  6. Me neither. "Bigger club buys player from little" club shock horror. Arrogance: did saints not buy Lambert themselves, or are bristol rovers so down the food chain that "they're $h!T and they know they are" so its alright then. And lallana - he came from some club so small and insignifcant i cant even remember where. "Asset stripped" what bollerx! Its money in the bank for FFS sake. I guess we might use it to buy players from other clubs, but I guess thats alroght because we are saints.
  7. "Adam Lallana could also join the Anfield club if a fee can be agreed." Allegedly then they reckon Man Ure play at Anfield.....
  8. Conflicting? In what way? Don't need to sell anyone: get the manager in: he says what to do. Pretty clear-cut.
  9. Hmmm. OK, so that disproves the "we are the laughing stock" theory then! Hahahahah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. Jeez. Some people really need to grow up. Contract. Fine. Someone wants out. What do you do. "You cant go" just doesn't work. All a contract means is that if either party want to terminate it then (a) look at the fine print to see the clauses and compensation needed to break the contract or (b) negotiate to better your position or © put them or gardening leave Mopo: (a) I do nt know the fine print and either do the rest of you: allegedly there was a few million compensation (b) he wanted OUT. OUT. To be a bit more explicit: O U T © Fine costs us a few million in spite money Same with players really: the idea is to get the best bag for your buck. Sorry: this is real life out there and you cant force people to do what you want because if they dont you will scream and scream until you are sick So what will we do; get another manager and buuy lots of players. Consistency you guys! Why is it Ok for us to buy and ot OK for us t sell?
  11. Did he really say that? Thought he had a sense of humour
  12. "Man cross because another man with no loyalty to company A goes to work for company B shock horror" This should get a load of headlines in the press. How dare people go to work for a bigger company with better prospects and for more money when Stevey doesn't want them to. Should be illegal. Do what Stevey says for FFS sake
  13. Hoddle? Seriously? McLaren? Seriously? I'd rather have the clap. lets try to make a step forwards, or at least sideways
  14. Hmmm. I have slipped into some kind of tantric cosmic state here...... its the roller-coaster. Saints roller-coaster. Up? Down? Not sure, but 100% sure there is a turn to come. Maybe MoPo goes, so do the squad, in comes Billy Davis and relegation. Or maybe neu-Laurie-Mac-alike will return with a new post-Keegan-alike. Exciting!
  15. Fact: if the man wants to go the board can't make him stay. They can offer him 6 million, but basically this is not bondage. Fact: everyone buys and sells players. The thing is to do it to make the squad stronger. If you sell, sell high. When you buy, buy low.
  16. Can anyone explain why he takes his youngest son to a secret, illicit meeting? Can't afford a babysitter? Or maybe he's his agent?
  17. Its a real tribute to our academy
  18. Yup. "When the going gets tough, the tough get going." And Cortese got going, packing his bag, spitting the dummy and off to his (spiritual home?) of Milan
  19. Cortese did a great job in getting us so much more cash this year. Such a great job, that he even got a lot more than the bottom club (Cardiff earn more TV cash than champions Man Utd did in 2013, http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/27411682) Get real: there are clubs bigger than us, clubs similar to us and clubs smaller than us. We ended the season doing just fine with Cortese. If he was all it was about then why is he not now, or was he not then, with Man U who despite finishing above us, had a ****ty season by all accounts. And as for "don't sell players", for FFS sake all clubs buy and sell, the trick is to end up with a better squad for less money. If someone offerred 100 million for each of lallana and shaw who would not take it? You could replace them and more and still have money left over.
  20. Maybe I am naive, but don't people normally start with a low offer then negotiate upwards, or is football the opposite of that? Or is the start price always the finish price? "Ridiculously low amounts"? maybe the offers might be increased. maybe.
  21. All clubs buy and sell, its part of the game. the tricky bit is to do it well: buy cheap, sell high, assemble the bits that fit together really well.
  22. I will go buy beer 32 - 38 minutes.
  23. Errrr....... much as i hate to admit it, the DM is actually right about this one. If we had beaten Sunderland possibly, quite possibly, we would be at Wemberlee next month
  24. Oooh! Thats a good idea! "El Classico" or maybe "El Classissimo".
