  1. Hi all, I'm moving to NYC on Sunday for six months - as a lifelong Saints fan I'm pleased to have found this and can't wait to get involved! I work in media, from Winchester originally. I've joined the FB group too - see you in the Legends Bar. Will
  2. Hi, we will be selling issue 5 - a special one for Saints v United - before and after the game tomorrow. It includes: - bumper interview with Francis Benali - an eye-opening account of Cortese's dinner parties - a fan looks back on Saints v United clashes - Prof Bedford and nostalgia corner articles Cover below, would be great if you could get one, only a £1, perfick for your half time needs.
  3. Thanks for that um Pahars, that is a direction we are moving in for the next issue and will definitely be having some more light-hearted content. We are managing to shift a fair few although it varies from issue to issue, low hundreds. Having just seen the draw, may have to try and get one out for then!
  4. Fanzine four on sale tomorrow befiore and after the Pool game tomorrow, £1 as ever. See us opposite the King Alf and on Melbourne Rd, Britannia Rd after the game. Cheers, Will
  5. Deppo, on a serious note we are always looking to have more contributors. Feel free to PM me the first edition of "Deppo's Tedious Unfunny Column," the more irreverent the better. Hamster, a letters page is something we are considering as a lot of other fanzines have them and they make good reading. I may try and get something together for the next issue, either by advertsising for letters on here or elsewhere. PM me the first if you want. And Noodles, feedback is the most useful thing we could ask for at this stage, so don't worry about being harsh - and, as above, please PM me ideas if you want to get involved. And generally, we will be selling issue 4 before the Blackpool game on Melbourne St, which leads to the Chapel Stand, and on Northam Rd, opposite the King Alfred pub. Afterwards, we will be on Britannia Rd. We have found these places to have the best walkthroughs but try out diffrent places. Cheers, Will
  6. Hi Noodles, thanks for the critique and honesty is preferred to fake praise! We will try and move in that direction as you are not the first to have said it - having said that, I have had far more people say they enjoy the fanzine due to its positive nature and don't want to see the "upsetting the establishment, the management, the board and the players, and the fans" you mention. A lot of people said they stopped buying previous fanzines because of the constant board-bashing and negativity and like the fact we are trying something new. Totally respect your point of view though. And RE the cover - I think the irony may have passed you by. It is meant to be a joke on the fact that for all the 125 celebrations and talk of a fresh start, the season has been weighed down by familiar themes of the past ie managerial change, ownership uncertainty and a crap start. Cheers for giving us a go tho!
  7. Hello everyone, issue four will go on sale before the Hudds game tomorrow. Cover below, and it features... - Saintsweb article (featuring mr steve grant) - candid interview with echo journalist Adam Leitch - xmas quiz - Interviews with 50s keeper john christie and 'flash' gordon watson. - Articles on cortese, tactics, the academy and league one in general. Only £1, we will be covering all the main routes to the stadium on it would be great if you could pick up a copy and give us a try. As said before, we are just a group of fans who wanted to bring a fanzine back to the club and are very positive- See you tomo! Will http://www.thesaintsfanzine.com
  8. Thanks a lot guys for helping out. And sotonjoe, issue 4 on sale at xmas (prob dec 28 game).
  9. Hi, details in the heading really. Exploring the forum and its history for a feature article in the xmas edition and just wanted everyone's thoughts on a couple of things. - What purpose do you think football fan forums serve and what makes them so popular? - What makes the Saints Forum in particular so popular - what do you like about it most? If you post anything, can you state if you don't want it to be quoted in the article. Would be good to get range of member's opinions. Also, can you email me at thesaintsfanzine@gmail.com if you fancy being fan of the month. Cheers, Will

To anyone else, we will post out as many copies of issues 1 and 2 as are wanted, £1 each plus £50 per postal roder for p and p. Payment over paypal or cheque. 16. Hi guys, just wanting to let you all know that the second isssue is back from the printers and will be on sale before and after Saturday's game against Rochdale! Only problem with this issue, which was planned as a tribute to Liebherr, was that Cortese sacked Pardew just after we sent it to the printers! However, we managed to make some changes so there is some Pardew reaction in there. This month's fanzine, for which we have used different printers, and therefore contains far fewer adverts, contains far more fanziney material and we have tried to adapt it towards some of the comments made about the first issue on this board. It includes: - Markus Liebherr tribute and a fan's eye view - Reaction to Pardew's dismissal - Northam Steve is our fan of the month - A comparison of The Dell and St. Marys - A look (how ironic) at Saints' extensive coaching staff - A new, improved Saints Quiz - Debate: Should Pardew have called on the fans to be less negative? - The return of both Professor Bedford and the Wetherill Forecast - A Pulis joke As last time, just £1 and we will be selling on the main routes into St. Mary's. Find us at the end of Northam Rd between King Alfred Pub and the tunnel; Britannia Rd; outside the Itchen Stand. Come and find us, and if no sign give me a ring on 07828 178154. Thanks, Will
  17. the bbc story has the watermark because it is taken from the club site. Doesnt mean they have paid for it, just crediting it in case the club gets mardy. Different to paying for shots on a matchday
  18. RIP Markus. Thanks again for the feedback and ideas, we will try and incorporate as many as pssible into the next edition, which will of course include tributes to the great man. We just about sold all the first issue against bournemouth, but if you want a copy email me willw101@hotmail.co.uk and we can sort something out. Thanks again for the great response.
  19. Hi guys, got a few more fanzine readers after this afternoon (shame about the result) and we will be selling them again on Tuesday night. If you cant get to the game but want one drop me an email at willw101@hotmail.co.uk and we can sort out postal ones. Cheers, will
  20. Passed on a few more at Eastleigh last night, plus if you cant get to the Plymouth game on Saturday but want one please send me a personal message and I can post out - £1.50 payment either paypal or cheque. Thanks See you at Plymouth and thanks for all the feedback so far, we will definitely be doing a second one - please get in touch if you have any ideas
  21. Hi everyone, just to confirm we will be at the Eastleigh game tonight, just give me a ring (07828 178154) if you are there and want one but cant see us. Will
  22. Hi everyone, thanks for all your positive comments and feedback, there were myself, Jim and two other friends selling yesterday and we shifted a lot. We will be selling at Eastleigh on Monday AND before the Plymouth game on Saturday. Again, if you are at these and can't locate us please give me a ring for a copy 07828 178154 and we can meet. Some other points - there are a couple of typos, and yes, Chris Marsden's mazy goal was against Ipswich not Leeds. Apologies! A friend has also pointed out that I don't actually say what Marsden is doing these days as well, so I don't really serve CMFG very well! Will try and get an interview for the next issue - I have had some requests for them to be sent out and am very happy to do this. Just send me a private message and we can sort it out. I am also looking into online publishing which may be easier, but I know a lot of people would prefer a hard copy so will offer both alternatives. More to come on this shortly. Again, thanks for the feedback, the more the better. We will be at Eastleigh on Monday (hopefully with signs this time to attract attention) so please look out and give us a ring if you are there and want a copy. Thanks, Will
  23. Thanks for the positive response guys, and for making this a sticky - I will be working out a way we can post these out, and write it on here over the weekend. Stay tuned! If you are at the game tomorrow but can't locate us in the areas mentioned, please give me a ring on 07828 178154. Will
  24. Hi guys, I am only an occasional poster on here but wanted to spread the word about a new club fanzine that myself and a fellow fan have set up. We are both lifelong fans and have put together The Saints Fanzine, which we will be distributing before tomorrow's game and on Tuesday against Eastleigh too. It features: - An exclusive Glenn ****erill interview - World Cup chat with journo Jeremy Wilson - A catch up with Saints ledge Marian Pahars There is a little more info about it on my blog: http://redandwhitebill.blogspot.com/2010/07/saints-fanzine-has-landed.html But we are only charging a quid to cover costs and would love a few SaintsForum members to buy it as we know there a lot of diehards on here... So please come find us by the footbridge on Northam Rd and Britannia Rd too for a copy, only a quid. Thanks, Will (Red and White Bill) PS Once you have a copy, would love some feedback on here or on my blog... thanks.
  25. I think the daily echo gets a very harsh rap. Imo it provides solid, in-depth saints coverage (the more the better in my view) and has got on the wrong side of 'mr paranoia' cortese for reasons not of their own making. Time for a lot of people to get off the bandwagon and think about how the echo has been unfairly treated, and then stigmatised, this season
