Hi Saint Garratt, I went with some mates last year - awesome weekend - except for grosjean ruining the 'race' as a spectacle at the first corner. We got the eurotunnel and drove from Calais. Have to say, we drive to Le Mans or another European GP once a year, and this was the first on Eurotunnel - and I doubt we'll ever get on a boat across the channel again.!! Camped in the green camping site, approx 5 mins walk from the entrance gate up at Les Combes, all sorted through the main website - http://www.spagrandprix.com. The standard ticket was all you need, but you will need to get up early for a really good spot - being so close to Germany, there are a lot of very keen early risers who WILL beat you to the circuit on race day! Awesome pub in La Source for after Saturday practice/support races - serves the best cherry brandy tasting lager you'll ever have - and being Belguim, you won't need too many. Be wary, the circuit gates shut at some point after racing, and getting from La Source back to Les Combes is a bit of a trek (we got hopelessly lost -cherry brandy lager will do that) and luckily bumped into a taxi man. Awesome weekend - would heavily recommend it. Missed the Utd game though! See you at the Francorchamps Racing Hotel Saturday night for a few!!

I see a chance for the rest of the season - yeah two pts dropped, but one more point in the bag. It was more important not to lose than it was to win. And that is a very calm summary from someone who missed out on £50 due to that short little sh!t getting in at the far post. Heigh ho, bring on the champions!!

That is clear - but let us be fair, there is a lot to be said for the manner in which we lost. Before kick off, not many would have predicted anything different. On another night United could have won by four or five, or we may have even sneaked a result (Why o why did Adam not swing at that ball instead of attempting a little flick) So losing at Man Utd means you should go out and start paying over the odds for players you may not want, or taking gambles on players that may not come off will not change that fact. All that performance does show - for those that want to see it - is that the players that are currently involved have a lot to offer. But yes, you're right - we lost. Well done.

Out of loyalty to Saint Charlie, I am not going to reply to this thread.

I think one thing we should all have learnt over the last few days especially is that 'our club' is most definitely not 'our club'

How much control should the chairman have over signings?
timayes replied to old_southy's topic in The Saints
I don't have anything to do with it, and nor will I likely have anything to do with it, ever. It would not surprise if the Chairman, LR, NA and a select few others have a sit down, and a chat over various medium, sent in by the previously mentioned expansive scouting network, players agents, and who knows maybe even some ultra keen parents. But I would suggest that they all have a hand in it at some point - and I really don't think that it matters. NC - "Nigel, I am going to spend £12m on a player for your team, he was at the olympics, looked pretty good, is young and best of all is better than most of what we've got" NA - "Is it going to cost me anything?" NC - "No, I have a (alledged) trust fund, that is paying / I am getting a loan on future tv money* (del as app." NA - "OK" -
What would you do with the sandworks opposite St Marys?
timayes replied to Tom8558's topic in The Saints
How big do you think the site is? Not big enough for any of the above (except possibly a Saints museum - and lets face it, any property developer that gets their hands on a waterside bit of land in Southampton ain't building no museum on it!! -
lol How about Paulo Di Canio what would your thoughts be then? or Harry Redknapp? or Alan Curbishley? or any of the 100's of managers linked to the club in one way or another over the past few years? I think the curve ball Nicola sent us already when appointing Adkins would more likely suggest Di Matteo (who incidently was the goal-scorer on my only ever correct scorecast - so I like the bloke) is not likely to be 'the chosen one' Forgive the dumb comment from the registered user - anyway isn't dumb one of the banned phrases on this board - you can't imply that because people can't talk they are stupid - dumbass!

Who should we replace Lallana with if he goes to play for Spurs when they sell Bale? Would you like Fawaz Almumen to replace Jaimie Longmuir in the ticket office, should he be sacked, and if he did would you boo him? Do you know Dave form the docks, apparently he is in for Joe the Kingsland stewards job if another person stands through the second half - thoughts please Stupid heresay thread.

Some of their fans are worse than some on here (albeit, not on this particular thread) It seems they would snap our hand off for a low scoring defeat!! Where do you have to go to actually get these points/results before a ball has been kicked anyway? http://www.villatalk.com/index.php/topic/8078-match-thread-please-do-not-talk-about-streams-in-this-thread/

I found myself asking a similar question to my mates a little while ago - I think Lallana was a luxury we could not afford back then - he offered little protection to Foxy, who lets be honest is no Cole or Evra and that was obviously an issue. Now that Shaw has come in, and performing as well as he is, along with the rest of the back four being somewhat more cohesive, I think we are able to afford the luxury of having a Lallana in the team. Are we a better side without Lallana? I would say not, but given the performances against Stoke and Arsenal, WTF do I know?

Have to agree with this. Screw your above on goal difference, a point out of the relgation zone views - honestly, one round of games into the New Year, and really, who the **** knows?
