It's whether VVD wants to stay. The club can't realistically keep a player who's determined to be elsewhere, no mater how much money they throw at it. You only have to look at Mane's lacklustre performances when he wasn't interested in staying here. If a CL team comes offering 3x increase in wages AND he want's to go, we may as well cash in.

Based on today's performance I say continue to play him. let the others fight for the place.

My only criticism of VVD is his throwing, when we're in the attacking third and the ball goes out he always throws it backwards so we start from scratch again.

At the end of the day it's about what VVD wants more than what SFC wants. If he wants a move upwards we should know there's little we can do about it. We've already tied him to a long contract. We'll put a big price on his head. We'll already have a replacement in line. It's a shame he'll go but it's inevitable, and I'm sure he'll see out the season.

Remember last season we finished nearly 5th and only 3 points below 4th. I don't think we'll do so well this year agreed, but there's no reason why we couldn't strengthen, in the modest way we do, and have a go at that again next season.

These were my thoughts. Boufal seems, hate to say it, a bit lightweight. Too easily bullied or knocked off the ball, hopefully a matter of time to get used to the step up. He's certainly creative though, tricky and draws plenty of fouls with quick feet.

Clasie on goal at 80 minutes ish but won't shoot with his left foot. Whole midfield not prepared to turn and run/shoot when in good positions, looking to pass backwards too often. Not hungry enough to score goals.

Yes, although now having seen it from a few angles it seemed a bit 6 of one and half dozen of the other.
