Will nobody make it easy for us?

Thought we did about as well as we could with the squad we have. Bring on the summer!
-
Interesting, thanks. I wish they'd stop with the Klopp comparison nonsense though. Could do without hearing his name every time I want to read something about our manager. The summer window will be telling. We don't know how much he'll be given....Kruger has implied that there won't be any new money to be spent. Instead profits, including that from player sales can be reinvested. So he may not have as much to spend as he/we would like. Will be interesting to see what he does with it.

Small criticism, but he gave the ball away a few times yesterday attempting to pass out from the back whilst under no pressure. Something to keep an eye on.

Looks like it's time for the "relegation price 2019" thread.

Huddersfield at home, last game of the season feels like a safety net. -
Valuable points. Some nice play in the second half early on. Deserved the goal but blimey, we do heap pressure on to ourselves. Hopefully Chelsea will get the job done tomorrow.

See if Gallagher can get his head on something.

Tadicesque finish
-
We could save valuable time in games by throwing the ball directly to the opposition rather than attempting and continually failing to throw it to one of our players.
-
I would consider doing nothing for 2 and a half million. Absolutely nothing though. I wouldn't even want to get out of bed.

Very nice goal. Edit, link now broken but here for now. From 1 minute onwards. Nice work Hoj. https://ourmatch.net/videos/21-03-2019-kosovo-vs-denmark/

I haven't seen enough of him to form much of an opinion. He's here, he trains with us. I think we have to trust what RH sees in training, if he's not in the squad there must be good reason for it, especially considering our striker "crisis". Perhaps he's nearly there, or getting there.

Anyone watching the Netflix documentary? I'm on episode 5. I am a little wary of Netflix since the Ted Bundy documentary, which I thought portrayed him in a strangely positive light and played down his brutality. Still an enjoyable series though. Anyway, this series seems to portray the Portugese police as desperate and incompetent, having little evidence to go on, missing opportunities and clutching at straws. In desperation, they construct a half-assed case against the wrong people, the McCanns. All fuelled by the media. The two most compelling pieces of evidence for me were firstly, the eyewitness account of the man carrying a girl away from the scene shortly before the alarm was raised. Secondly, the woman in the Marrakesh petrol station, convinced she saw Maddie there. I would like to have seen these leads thoroughly explored....of course I have no idea that they weren't.

And the electorate vote in UKIP as their new government with a Parliamentary majority of 52%.

When our first goal went in I was praying we could hold out for a point, which would probably have been a fairer result if we're being honest with ourselves. Cardiff winning would have made the table stressful to look at again. Thank f*ck we got the rub of the green for once.

Would have been elated with a point. Close game. Hold heads high.

Deserved a point.

I think the comparisons of crowds is valid. There is less demand to watch women's football but the BBC want to push an equality agenda, so fervently promote it nevertheless. I think it's a fools game. Ultimately the market will decide. You can liken it to the Paralympics. There's no doubt that fewer people want to watch disabled people take part in sports than able bodied, but an agenda of "celebrating those with disabilities" means you can ignore the viewer imbalance. There's probably valid sociological reasons why it may or may not be a reasonable stance to take, but you'd struggle to argue that it isn't "agenda driven". I suppose the real question is, who sets the agenda and on what basis?

Romeu's was a great strike. Nice to see someone belt it for a change (and hit the target).

Enjoyed the 2-2 a few months back. We played well that night and ManU were poor. Different managers for both clubs this time around.
-
Can see the possibility of 3 points against Brighton and Huddersfield (taking us to 31 points). Will need more than that though and looking at the fixtures I think it will be very tough. Expect West Ham will have little to play for by April but that's about it.

Throat clearing: only saw today's first half via a stream. Seems to be gaining confidence going forward though. Ball close to his feet and a lovely run to get past players into a dangerous position. Defensively thought he was a little tighter against the opponent than I have previously criticised him for (but still not as effective as Cedric in this area in my opinion, preventing crosses and important passes in and around the box). Anyone at the game shed any light?

I suspect, with the results and progress RH was achieving, the club was confident we could survive with what we have, so we wait and look at the squad more seriously in the summer. Now, a few injuries to the worse and a couple of poor results it seems like more of a gamble than I gave it credit for.
