Excellent standard from Romeu, Vest considering how little they've played. Looks like Romeu's nose might be busted. Good looks ruined.

At the start of the article it states "a woman has been raped". Judge and jury? Later..."We are also investigating the rape of an 18-year-old woman..." That's more like it. I wonder why the BBC would present the article in this way. Journalism of the very poorest standard or deliberate?

Direct these spray-happy chumps to a suitable online forum or the youtube comments section and leave them there. Poorly written slogans on your local bus shelter is not acceptable no matter what the cause. Who's going to want to sit there now?
-
Turns out the chump who flew the banner will not face charges. Police do not consider a crime has been committed. Good decision. Idiots should be able to say things (within reason). He has lost his job though. Can't imagine on what grounds. Doesn't really fit a gross misconduct charge as far as I can see. Should probably consider legal advice.

I think "white lives matter" misses the point of the BLM campaign to such an extent that it could be seen as deliberately provocative and even inflammatory. What I can not see though is a situation where a written statement "Black lives matter" is considered acceptable whereas "white lives matter" is considered a criminal offence. No chance will criminal charges be brought IMO. Best to have ignored it...but that was never going to happen.
-
Interesting to see what the outcome is. The police will look into it but I can't see that they could invent a charge that would stick, even these days.

We are poor in the air. Looks like he would improve this area of our game at least.

Speaking to my daughter about just this issue the other day. She quoted her sociology a-level text books at me which give evidence of "unconscious bias" by teachers and the school system. Examples include black kids being more likely to be excluded for the same offence than white, example "swearing at a teacher" or "threatening language". Other evidence of teachers being more likely to place black kids into lower learning-streams than white kids despite them having the same results thus far. Having lower expectations of them and them subsequently being unable to achieve the results they perhaps could. I didn't delve into the evidence but it was interesting and sounded plausible.

My daughter's recently been watching all the back episodes of Outnumbered. Thought it was silly at the time and have never been a fan of Hugh Dennis but they are a very easy watch. I must admit I spend much of each episode contemplating whether I fancy his missus or not.

I said on another thread once that the BBC appears very left oriented, except when there's an election looming when it might as well be a Conservative Party Broadcast. The news anyway.

I was hoping posts might have "like" buttons or thumbs up/down so I can know when I'm talking b*llocks without people specifically having to tell me.

And the goal scorer's celebration after the goals.....no rehearsed silliness, acrobatics or miming, just running about and jumping with joy (whilst nearly kicking your teammate in the chops).

Watching some old Liverpool / Arsenal game on the beeb. It demonstrates how important bringing in the pass-back rule was. Really drags the game down passing back to the keeper all the time.

Where does the sponsor's name go?

Those nudists miss out on the annual kit thread on their forum. Anyway, how do they know which team they're on? Or what number they are?

I had something in January, a very persistent cough for about 3 weeks and have spoken to many others with similar symptoms around the same time. A woman I was chatting to is convinced she got it in December. She rents rooms out on airbnb, had a couple of Chinese students stay for a few days. They went home and she had the most horrendous fever and was bed bound for over a week. All anecdotal of course, but I wouldn't be surprised.

I'm guessing you've all seen Wuhan market on youtube. If this virus did come from bats it's no surprise it started there. A similar situation with ebola and the desire for "bush meat". Keep people out of the forests seems to be the answer to preventing these viruses passing from animals to humans. In Africa I imagine poverty drives people into the forests in search of food. Can the same be said for Wuhan and China though?

On Fabrice Fernandes: James Beattie reckoned he had the best left-foot than anyone else he played with but also thought “Fab was an enigma, I remember Strachan really shouting at him because he kept beating his man and he’s be in the perfect position to cross, but then he’s go back and chop him again”!

Disinfectant today is weak due to over-regulation under the Obama administration. Very, very weak. Trump's been saying this for years. Under Trump we'll soon have the very strongest disinfectant anywhere in the world, believe me.
-
He has at his disposal the most accomplished medical experts the USA has to offer. You doubters, what do you have? I'm off to buy disinfectant before the rush. Q. The lamp he mentions. Does it NEED to be violet or will a purple one do?

MOTD deciding to pick "Top 10 Prem managers" to discuss. Another excuse to talk about the top clubs. They should include all the current Prem clubs in some sort of discussion/clips in the same way they do under normal circumstances.

I'm lucky enough to have a small garden. Have been doing a bit of maintenance to the path that runs down it, basically trimming and weeding, making sure the grass doesn't take it over. Very pleasurable in the garden at the moment...no aircraft noise, fewer cars. The noise of the birds seems to be taking over...very refreshing. Think I just identified the call of a green woodpecker.
