Funnily enough I had reason to say "Great Booze up Edmond" to my missus earlier today. She didn't understand the reference of course so I made her watch the clip. It's great living with me. I love beer, too much. I suspect I'm better off without it but it has a serious draw. I read today that they have plans to make cigarettes illegal in New Zealand. I honestly wouldn't mind if they did that here with booze. I wouldn't seek out booze dealers so that would be that.

The one thing I won't miss is the uncertainty that surrounded the club at that time. I remember standing at one game, before Marcus took over, genuinely thinking that this might be the last time I ever see SFC play. Sounds hysterical to say it now but it was real at the time.

Some of the best times I had as a supporter is when we were in league 1 and the championship. Went to more games then than ever. The atmosphere was different, better, despite probably close to half the amount of supporters for some games. Cheaper tickets, kids for a quid for cup games, no problem getting a ticket for where you want to be. I think this forum benefited to. Less of the armchair supporters watching it on streams or MOTD (which is exactly what I have become). You can't get a decent perspective of a game without being there.

Speaking of the UK, I can appreciate there are stresses associated with recent times. To afford to buy a house or even to afford rent, the requirement for both parents to have full time jobs and have children cared for at a very early age in order to satisfy the workplace. Maybe that suits some women and some relationships but I suspect not all. Where I work now, one of the women who had a small child was allowed time off from her duties during the day to express milk so that she could bottle it and feed it to her baby when she got home. Felt sorry for her but perhaps she was happy with that situation, maybe she chose it. My wife looked after the house and our kids full time for the first 8 years of their lives (they were born 1 year apart). How rare must that be these days and this was only 20 years ago. Ok money was tight but we had everything we needed. She wanted it that way and it didn't harm her career when she decided to go back to work.
