  1. We're going to end the season with a goal difference of -9 aren't we.
  2. Ha ha, I had this discussion with someone an hour ago and I said, for a near golden booter, in the PL, in his prime? £80 million.
  3. Get 11th, finish above Smegerton, get 50+ points, remain unbeaten since lockdown, end the season on a high. And the golden boot isn't completely out of reach yet...(probably is for Long)
  4. And would help to keep Everton below us. That would be a nice result.
  5. Can we call that a “classic Ings goal”?
  6. Hoping one of these might come good: http://60fps.live/afc-bournemouth-vs-southampton/ https://sportsbay.org/watch/69743/1/bournemouth-vs-southampton-live.html https://www.stream2watch.ws/event-2020/bournemouth-vs-southampton-streaming

I saw that in the Tate Modern just after she did it. It really was a poor excuse for art. Most of the stuff in there displayed very little skill or imagination. The best bit about the trip was the building itself.
  8. She's edging towards celebrity status. It'll be a book deal next, then the Graham Norton show.
  9. Vestergaard's shot was heading right for the top corner and should have been the winner, if it wasn't for that pesky keeper getting a hand to it. He pulled off some great saves.
  10. Ings really is a class above. Where would we be without him?
  11. Well, we know our best team, and the lack of squad depth is pretty clear too.

  13. There were times towards the end of the first half when I thought we were looking leggy and tired...hardly surprising the amount they've played. So I was surprised United didn't try to kill us off in the second. Reckon Redmond had the most energy throughout. I think he's the fittest, closing down and defending right to the end.
  14. Thought Ndidi was on for a red there...
  15. I can't completely explain it either. I've worked in a handful of industries and personally, my experience of employers is that they want the most competent person who will work the hardest, at a reasonable price, preferably a low price, but they couldn't care less about your appearance or background. Business is quite ruthless in this respect. I'm sure there must be some discrimination in employment but I suspect it's a small factor. Unconscious bias, there has to be something in that. My daughter gets her a-level Sociology book out and lectures me on stats regarding bias against BAME kids in schools. Black kids being suspended more than white kids for the same offence. Black kids being less likely to be put forward for higher streams of education despite having the same educational results thus far. I can't explain it.
  16. Think Cantwell would give Redmond a good run for his money, especially with Ralph pushing him.
  17. Equality of outcome is a poor social goal. Better off trying to make sure everyone has access to whatever it is within society that engineers people towards success. Things like equality of education, access to transport, access to technology, stable home life, healthy food, access to credit. If you give people equality of opportunity in this way they should succeed. It's in everyone's interest that they succeed. What people won't do though, given the opportunity, is even themselves out proportionally in terms of gender, race, LBGT, for any role you can think of. Attempting to engineer it so that it equals out is pointless and, in terms of all-women shortlists in elections for example, undemocratic.
  18. A footballer I know (not Saints) says fans are generally VERY critical. Perhaps you learn to filter it out with experience.
  19. Yeah, at the time I thought it shouldn't have been given. Would have been fuming if the situation was reversed.
  20. Fair enough, but a couple more injuries, Hoj away and the squad starts to look paper thin. We have a decent manager. Next season could be the amazing but with the ownership as it is, we will miss an opportunity.
  21. We could do with some recruitment ourselves. Our bench is so limited. Ok, Boufal and Djenepo are out but we really aren't doing badly for injuries, especially considering the amount of games at the moment. We have the chance of a decent season come September if we invest, even just a little.
  22. Tired legs. Oh well, point away from home and all that... Can't complain.
  23. Prowse to get booked second half. May need some fresh legs. Plenty of kids on the bench but not much else.
  24. Certainly on top in the first quarter.
  25. Honestly, I'm glad I support Saints when I see some of the daft stuff that goes on at other clubs.
