Thought Diallo was quiet first half. Struggled to find space and get into the game. Much improved second half though. Seems very composed, calm, unhurried. Played some good passes forward, much more involved and showed quality. Not fussed about the air-shot....ball hit a bobble if you ask me KWP / JWP men of the match

All eyes of Diallo. Haven't thought much of him thus far. Hoping he's going to smash it and make this post look silly.

I know a player from another club. He says he gets fed healthy stuff whilst in the club, training. After that they are given nutritional advice, told what to avoid, told what not to have before a game etc but other than that they're pretty much left to it. I would imagine in the Prem they would have access to the clubs nutritionist should they want it. edit...actually that's not entirely true. He's also told not to put on any weight and, in his case, not too much muscle mass as they want to keep him lean and fast. So yeah, I'd have thought the club would have been advising Romeu on the sort of shape he would benefit from being in.

I ordered a pair of those bosch aerotwin wipers today because I struggled with visibility whilst driving the better half's car. I had them on my old motor. Much better...

The article reads like an episode of Life on Mars

Wouldn't changing your name to a more "English" one be considered cultural appropriation? I thought that was frowned upon.

It certainly goes against the current trend of movies, taking a lot of effort to ensure the actor looks as much like the part as possible. Tom Hardy in the Crays for example. David Tennant as Neilson. Many more examples out there. Either accuracy of appearance matters or it doesn't. edit - and that Guardian article is just horrible, assuming anyone who may have an opinion on it are "racists". A good example of why I used to read that paper but haven't for a long time.

Yep, just needed to keep doing what he was doing. Would like to see more of him in the next game.

I even yawned when the tater said we were top again.

That Enfield sketch was good. Lexus CT200h. Basically a Prius with a different body. My trade-in 2004 is200 was far better in every way though (except fuel economy, hence the change). Wish I'd kept it now. Was nothing wring with it and I don't drive many miles. Best car I ever owned.

Best opportunity we've had in a long while to beat them at theirs. Arteta asking for his players to "be brave". Sounds familiar. Hope our players end the game with all legs intact. Paul Tierney isn't it?

I once worked with a girl who said she wasn't very keen on Somalians. I asked why and she said that where she used to work there was a fairly large Somalian population and whenever she had to deal with Somalians whilst at work she found them unpleasant and difficult to deal with. I'm still not sure whether that was a reasonable position. I mean you can't deny her her experiences and I couldn't really blame her for making an association based on her experiences.

Your responses suggested a slight automatic association for American with White American and Foreign with Native American. Odd because that's not really how I feel. Perhaps I don't know how I feel. Maybe this test knows more about me than I do.

He's clearly very ambitious. Very ambitious people tend not to settle for anything other than the top. So we should be fine!

Fitness is the key for me. Keep everyone injury free and I think we could be top 6. Drop two or three key players and it may be a different story.

Ignoring them seems to work. Home to Leicester, a few years back, the "just a town full of p*kis" chant from behind me was completely ignored by all in the Northam despite some perseverance by a loud mouth. Made him look silly I thought. Hope he got the message.

We do seem to have been fortunate with injuries lately, which has helped with our success, at least that's how it seems. I wonder if this is the result of good management, perhaps we're doing the right things on the training ground, in the physio room, etc.

I had a quick look at the review. There was much I didn't understand including "ubuntu". https://www.tutufoundationuk.org/about I wish they'd make these reviews a little clearer for the layman. I hate racism as much as the next man but it would be nice to have a clearer summary, with links to the racism, rather than sticking up 400 pages of "evidence" much of which looks like any meeting minutes you might happen across at any local council get together. https://www.tutufoundationuk.org/projects/westway-trust-review

Redmond vs Djenepo? Think I'd persevere with Djenepo with an obvious sub option...nice to have some genuine depth at last, at least in one position. Looks like Ings is up and running. So pick two out of Adams/Armstong/Walcott. Would be nice to see a late Salisu appearance if we're comfortable.

Got to give MOTM to Vest but Romeu, JWP and Walker-Peters excellent too.

Hardly a surprise that the beeb are doing it... https://www.haylockchase.co.uk/when-positive-discrimination-can-be-completely-legal/

I wonder which Saint has headed more than any other in recent years. Radhi Jaidi must be up there with his defensive clearances. Lambert perhaps.

I believe this was more of an issue historically when heavier balls were used. Not sure about these days. Easy solution, wear helmets.

One thing that was interesting about this whole business is that it demonstrated how finely balanced our societies are. A small change in shopping habits, because we have to stay in for a bit, and the shelves are empty. Was chatting to the better half about a potential movie scenario: Government hastily creates a virus, injects 80% of the population and they all die or turn into mutants or whatever. The remaining population, within days will have no fuel, food, electricity, water. The chaos that ensues. Will we survive? Back to primitive ways?
