    Danny Ings

Actually thought this one might stay for a bit. If he goes I will truly have learned my lesson.
  2. It's actually Tchaptchet which seems to have a quantity of silent letters and can't be played in Scrabble for at least 2 reasons.

    FA Cup Draw

I had a terrible feeling about the Liverpool match and have a terrible feeling about this one too. Hopefully, somehow all this adds up to a result!
  4. Clumsy idiot. Doubt he tidied up afterwards either.
  5. JOURNALIST SAYS SOUTHAMPTON ARE IN DEMARAI GRAY I wonder what they mean. Let's hope they're able to get out before the next game.
  6. He's managed only 2 or 3 years at all his previous clubs, so it doesn't bode well unless he sees something different with us. He's managing in the best league in the world now, so that's something. It may be that he sees Saints as the highest platform to let his style of play show through and will stick with it (providing he's given reasonable backing!). As written above, a top 6 club just may not suit him for the time being, or it may be wishful thinking on our behalf.
  7. Usual suspects excellent as usual. Diallo now looks completely settled. Actually quite liked Valery on the right, was a decent change to make. Tella and N'Lundudu didn't look out of place. Fantastic result and, from me, completely unexpected.
  8. Totally. They look vulnerable with that high line....we need to exploit it...
  9. Excellent work. Nice to see Tella on. Pity he didn't take his chance but looking good...
  10. Thinking the same. Wondering if we should try and conserve at least a little energy...
  11. Unsurprisingly it looks like he's been coached to press more and perhaps to make quicker decisions. He seems a bit flustered and panicky when he gets the ball. Maybe he's just feeling the pressure.
  12. Well yes, I wouldn't think to know better than the rapper on the subject and accept that, at least for now, he is entitled to use a word that I am not. The n-word takes the matter to the extreme of course. In the same way I wouldn't have dreamed of saying "the S-word" except to quote what he said because the point he made was interesting. I'm sure you'd agree he's entitled to use that word, considering his history.
  13. In fairness the language used came from the mouth of the disabled chap that I spoke to and Dury himself.
  14. I wouldn't mind having another look at Tella. Thought he looked promising but haven't seen much of him even on the bench lately.
  15. That is hilarious. Absurd that the BBC and others think they know better than him on the subject.
  16. Should have asked if he needed a hand
  17. This is another micro-aggression known as “dead-naming”. Giving something a new name doesn't make it new or any more important than it was. Kind of related, I was talking to an elderly fella last night who was born with right side arm and leg paralysis. One thing he mentioned was, due his paralysis, that he used to be known as a spastic. He chatted in good spirits that years ago the "able bodied" people took that name away from him and people like him and for a while he would joke with other disabled friends "what are we calling ourselves these days?"
  18. Friend of mine is into movies, the modern Hollywood stuff. All of them seem to have good people/bad people and a loose plot. The choice of weapon will be different for each film; fists, machetes, machine guns, phasers, whatever. What will be consistent though is that the good and the bad will fight throughout, whilst loosely maintaining the already loose plot, culminating in one large fight at the end when the good will win. It's unlikely anyone will eat or drink anything or will need to go to the loo.
  19. Good idea. Or at least contact the home FA to get their view on the matter.
  20. Mrs M watched Bridgerton enthusiastically but I could tell within minutes that it wasn't for me. One for the women and the younger generation, if I can be allowed a little end-of-year generalising.
  21. Pride and Prejudice was on the other day, the 2005 version with Keira Knightley in. I sat down not interested but got drawn in. Ended up glued to it. Taylor Swift's silly, early pop songs. You can't play You Belong with Me anywhere, at any time and be taken remotely seriously by anyone. Polly from Fawlty Towers.
  22. W Ham defended well in fairness...
  23. 3 celebrations in a row I've had to neutralise halfway through. Could do with a good cheer!
  24. Stronger line-up than I was expecting. Big surprise to see Ings starting. Wish I could be there, somewhere near the touchline to shout the "Go now!" , "Very good Karl", "Good ball Prowsey" etc etc
  25. That is a big blow
