Lampard not giving much away in his presser. Looking for the same set up and style re the Leeds game (was 442). Was put to him about Saints players going down between 60 and 70 minutes regularly. He said clubs have been doing it for years. Other than that chose to reserve judgement.

He outlined the strategy pretty honestly. Come here as a young player. We will play you, improve you and if you want to leave later, that's fine. I think we've all accepted that if a player flourishes, they'll be looking upwards. Also mentioning us as a top 10 club seems like a good strategy. He was a bit coy in my opinion, effectively saying our strategy wasn't to win trophies, but for me to be a stable top 10 side is a great position to be in to do just that, to have the occasional push towards something special.

He shows the ability and aggression we've been missing up front an he's proven can work with our set up. If breaking the bank will seal a deal for him, I think we should do it, rather than throw the dice again.
