If you all agree that beatings within prison, in certain cases, are commendable and laudible, why leave it to prisoners or officers to meter the justice? I'm not sure I'd want them making decisions on my behalf. Surely this could be legislated for? I mean if this is what the public wants?

I prefer to judge people who talk bollokcs on daytime tv, whatever their name is.

I don't think there's enough internet for that.

Naked Rambler (Eastleigh weirdo) jailed for 11 months
Manuel replied to buctootim's topic in The Lounge
The bloke is a freedom fighter and I imagine that one day, perhaps postumously, he'll be recognised and remembered as such. Humans locking up humans because of what they choose to wear, or what they don't is bizarre, irrational and shameful. -
I first misread it as "The families of civilians killed in Iraq can sue the government for damages under the Human Rights Act." I wonder if that'll ever come. That would be an interesting debate.

Forget all that. Here's some youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sDP84fyefqA

I don't think our buffoon government is anywhere near clever enough to stage something like this without spectacularly messing it up. You give them too much credence.

Didn't like the sash, looked dull and dated. Indifferent about the all-red. Would like to see us in stripes again next season and hoping for a Sunderland and Stoke relegation.

Extended footage of woolwich terrorists being shot by police
Manuel replied to The Majestic Channon's topic in The Lounge
Glad they managed to shoot them in the legs. In the US I imagine they'd both be dead now. Perhaps over the coming months/years it might be interesting to get inside their heads, see if we can establish what drove these young men to do something so unusual. -
Ok, seeing as we're not permitted to discuss the murders of innocent people on our streets we'd better get back to David Beckham. Personally I think he was alright.
-
I suspect it's the fear it's that it could be the start of something. Although you could argue that gang culture and random murders associated with it, started and have been continuing on our streets for many years without much media attention. We accept those risks when we walk down our streets. I think it is premature to start picking up the pitchforks and flaming torches, just because there was a soldier involved, or because the motive may have been political/religious/anti-UK. Or because there may be Muslims involved. Or because the murderers were black (yes unbelievably this is becoming a race issue in certain circles). My view? A one of attack by a couple of crazed nutters, possibly associated to a small group, who will soon be rounded up and you'll never hear of anything like this again for 10 years.

The trouble is, if it was nationalised and not for profit, it would still probably end up costing us more. Are you willing to pay more for a product, and I suspect it applies to most things you can think of as being potentially nationalised, if it meant for example a) it was set up in the nation's interest, b) good working rights for employees, c) not ripping someone off in another country, d) more accountable to the consumer, e) more control at a national level. Possibly. It's debatable but I suspect most will simply want the cheapest product, no matter how or where it comes from.

Jos Hooiveld part of the PL 2012/13 Most Ineffective XI
Manuel replied to old_southy's topic in The Saints
I stopped reading the stats once I saw they'd spelled Hooiveld's name wrong. -
Broadly agree. Puncheon is an 8 for me though. Hope to see him next season.

Nice timing. Can get on with enjoying the footie now without this hanging over us.

Next season: Saints best ever chance to win the Premier League?
Manuel replied to jawillwill's topic in The Saints
We can beat anyone on our day, and the season is just a collection of single games, so I reckon it's possible. Not a certainty by any chance but definitely possible, probable even. I'm going to put a tenner on it. -
Beattie to be announced Accrington manager in morning
Manuel replied to corsacar saint's topic in The Saints
Has he taken Stanley's place? Good luck to Accrington James for next season. -
From watching games I too get the impression that we lack a bit of bite up front. The purchase of a top quality striker in the summer would do us very nicely.

N'Dai wins everything that's anywhere near him. Good player.

Oh yeah, remember now. I like the look of today's line-up. 2-1 Saints.

Is Gaston injured?

So, are we to conclude from all this that all men will eventually be found to be rapists? Or is that all men sexually active in the 1960s will eventually be found as rapists? Or is it just those who've been on the telly, or is it radio.

Don't worry, we won't judge you on here Marsdinho.

A tenner seems a bit steep, but I might have gone for a quid.
