I didn't notice much pressing last week from Saints, more from Leverkusen.

Only got yesterday to go on, but judging by that I worry that we are going to get a hammering. Can't see us scoring. 0-4

Some good balls, made a couple of good tackles, confident, lively, skilful....but first impression is that despite his flair, doesn't seem strong enough yet for a regular Prem start. Hopefully will improve.

Thought he was ok. I wouldn't call him quick, in fact I thought he seemed a bit sluggish but maybe a few Prem starts will liven him up. Nowhere near the ability of Clyne who was creative getting forward and linked up well with Tadic/Davis.

I expect they'll wait a year for our academy to turn him into a superstar then take him back.

Would you say he we got good money for him? Or he was undersold? Or the fee was about right. I think this is the factor which most decides how I feel about it. Personally my feeling is that the fee was "about right" for a player of his ability/potential, and this is personally why I am disappointed. Keep in mind the timing and our lack of squad, we should have sold him for a mint, or not at all.

Maybe it's the heat but England allowing Italy to have possession with little effort to close down. Not enough Saints players on the pitch obviously.

This would be my speculation too, that KL was unhappy regarding the level of debt (easy to gamble with other people's money) and wants to see the club perform within its means. I can't see much wrong with that...providing we stay up, and with some sort of plan in place. Definitely need a plan; and a manager.

For me, it's whether it's sustainable or not. Personally I'm not too fussed how much they spend providing it ultimately means they turn a profit. What ****es me off is when the likes of Abramovich can overspend year after year and treat the loss like loose change. That is what ****s up the game if you ask me.

I think contracts need to be respected though. If a player signs for 4 years then he should accept that, relegation aside, they will be there for that period, unless the club wants them gone. I don't fully accept that if a more successful club comes in that we should just roll over. The only reason we should sell is if we've overspent and need the cash, and you can only blame the club for that. Any player worth his salt won't deteriorate on the pitch because he's sulking that he can't go to Spurs, if he does it's his only his own career he's damaging, he should work that out soon enough.

Furniture auctions. If you've got half a day to spare, it's a pretty interesting trip and you'll get amazing stuff for a third of the price of Argos crap. Might be a hundred years old too.

Can't see him replacing Boruc next season outright. Obviously a longer term prospect, but where does that leave us next season? Would he be happy as second keeper to Boruc for perhaps the entire first season? Alternatively would we get the best out of Boruc if he felt he was being edged out during the first season?
