Absolutly bizarre . Pardew comes in last season with no pre season -10 points . Blends the team together adds a few additions , got some excellent loan players in last season , just miss out on promotion , Saints are notorioulsy slow starters in the league . A great 4-0 win away from got and we all knew we would push right on after this win .This Cortese is a real piece of work , if Liebeherr was still with us im not so sure this would be happening especially after such a good win . Unlucky AP im sure youve been paid off well . I await with baited breath to see who we come up with , with the calibre of AP , someone the players will look up to and want to play for .

agree with the shooting practise , did anybody else watch the warm up . Players taking shots Lambert converted 1 in 9 attempts , Barnard only converted 2 , Hammond 1 . Lambert looks all out of sorts at the moment , his free kicks were embarrasing tonight , certainly not the Lambert we all know and love , the free kicks cant be blamed on fitness . We need players like him to come to the party or there wont be a party at the end of the season . 2 more signings urgently needed to have a chance of automatic promotion

Tonight he was exsposed as a slow thinking ,and lacking ideas in a higher league . He is slightly above average for this league but any higher he will be found out . Played on the right 2nd half tonight , so one footed it was easy for their full back . Couldnt clear the first man 3 times from the corner . I get the impression he thinks hes better than he is easy . Easy pass was on 3 or 4 times tonight he decided to try something a lot harder and lost possession to many times . 50/50 for him to come through this season for us .

Quality , Pace , Eye for goal , if he can adapt to the style of play , he will be an excellent addition , and in 5 months we have an option to sign him up . Its down to the boy to win a contract with us .

Not captain material im afraid , bad decision giving him the arm band . I dont think ive seen a captains display from him since we signed him . Hes very average , he was plucked from a very poor team where he looked good , put him in a fair team he vanishes in to the crowd . Gets in the box on the end of crosses and cant get 1 single header on target . He needs to be dropped for a few games , try and get some motivation in the boy . Lallana looked like his mind was else where as well yesterday , transfer talk maybe affecting him .

1st 10 mins looked like a 5-0 home winning coming at least , Lambert was winning everything , Barnard was sharp , as soon as the equalised we went in to limp mode , urgency went , looked very one pace through out the team . 2nd half started like the 1st half ended , no pace whatsoever in the team , we had chances to break quick , but decided to either play a square ball , or a long ball that never went to a saints head . Lambert became the invisible man in the 2nd half , lallanna looked off the pace , everything he tried didnt come off , no subs till 10 mins to go , far to late to have any impact , unless we buy a couple of very quick wingers to inject some pace into the side its going to be a very long season . There is no excuses if we cant beat a team like Orient at home it doesnt look great . We all know how tough this league is to get out of look how long it took Leeds to get out . Signings required , Quality with pace . probably 3 players required and quick .

Markus Liebherr im sure you will be watching from above , a successful man in his own right , a man who would have taken Southampton Football Club to the premier league , a winner who wouldnt stomach losing , a man who put his money into a club sunk with debt , and revitalised us all . Same old Saints , have'nt won a home game at the beginning of the season since 1999 , Until Lallana came on we lacked ideas , Hammond as captain hmmmm certainly didnt see him motivating the troops , We certainly have the spine of a good team , but how desperate do we need another big centre forward , 8 or 9 crosses into the box in the first half all delivered with quality but no end result , to many high balls to our 2 short forwards , then panic around the 65 mins , big punts time and time again by Davis . Also there was no pace in our team , nobody who can put a burst in to the box to unsettle defenders . We are certainly lacking 2 or 3 players for sure . 90 mins gone game lost , and we bring a sub on , you have to question that , we have two wide men with some pace , not lightning but quick enough to cause some problems against weary legs , and we bring one on with 90 mins gone pffff It cant get any worse . Come on Saints release some cash you know were gonna need those signings

All in all we already have a squad capable of winning this league , remember we had a -10 start , no pre season as such , at least 10-12 games before team started to knit together . We are missing real pace in the team with Antonio and Waigo gone they were by far the quickest players we had . Im sure Pardew knows this , and has a couple of players ready to sign , the other problem we are probably encountering is , as soon as a SFC now approach a player the price doubles , and agents take the p$ss , hence no big signings so far . Cortese wont have a gun held to his head thats for sure , Watch this space next 7 days at least 2 players in , 1 will be a striker for sure and a pacy winger .

FC Thun are a quality outfit , im not surprised by the score , were 4 days into pre season and the boys are still working off the burgers , id like to think we can get one or two back but it could be a hammering which will not be good for morale. Come on Saints dig in .

big gamble for any premier league club to take on him , great player for this league and championship but lacks real pace for the premier league , just like surman who has had no impact whatsoever at wolves . i couldnt see what team in the premiership would want him at a big price except at 2 million its a relativly small price for such a young player and worth a gamble . Hes worth a lot more to us in this division than 2-3 million . We are hardly skint !!!!

No fluidity not enough movement off the ball , their man for man marking took most of our players out of the game tonight . A bit drastic , we dont need a new manager , yes he has bought in new players and some very good ones , how many games has his strongest team played 1 at Norwich , give the man a break , who is better qualified who would want to come to a league 1 club .

never watch those dirty skates , but thought id watch them last night on football first v sunderland , their defence is awfull , they cant defend a cross from the wing and centre of midfield they looked very weak with jones running riot in their midfield , , but they do look good down the right and Dindane looks exceptional , very quick feet and movement off the ball which will cause our static defence problems unless we man mark him out the game , wouldnt know who could do this job successfull , maybe Woots , but he is their danger man , take him out the game and we got a chance , they looked very average in their play , but they didnt give up for 90 mins and looked very fit . If he gets space in and around our area we will lose , if we can control him we can nick 1 the other end maybe a set piece , llanna gets fould just out side area , Lambert puts 1 in top corner without James moving , going to be close whatever the result .
